  1. There was also one where the sound of a gunshot would occur... freaked me out a few times when guys would log out nearby.

What are your system specs? Did you report this in the bug reporter? Should try to screen / video capture this issue...

    Zlin Z-37 "Čmelák"

    Far cry 5.
  4. I actually ran out of the building because I thought someone had voip fucked me but then as I was exiting I heard the drain and quickly put the problem together. I do remember having that issue a long time ago but guess other items in the non existent roadmap took precedence.

Who actually build bases and repair cars?

Oh cars come with their share of challenges. I touched one the other day my friend cam to pick me up and almost died. Started throwing me up in the air... I was just trying to open the door... Meanwhile on his way to get me it starts orbiting itself like a satelite, glitching through terrain multiple times. What a stupid mess. On your other point Items certainly seem to show up in waves...
  6. The biggest advantage to having pristine gear is the "hit points" that act as a buffer in the garment versus your personal health pool. So if a bullet hits you (or a punch) it'll do a certain amount of damage... but that damage can be spread throughout your garments- I think the contents and then your body. Now in terms of contents- that may not still apply... I remember back in the day having protector cases / med kits / cooking pots etc was beneficial because they acted somewhat like a bullet proof vest... since they not only distributed damage away from contents but also your character if the impact happened on the garment in which they were stored. Recently I had a few zombies aggro on me and this was not desirable... as a result they ruined my high cap vest. I could still store stuff in it- which was good- but I knew if I took a bullet it would provide 0 further protection... so I needed to decide if I needed the extra capacity or wanted the protection. I may be a bit off with this but I think I'm close.

If you're talking about the more western style mask they're not yet implemented. At least not on the PC side anyway.

    How was your Day(Z)?

I got my loud guy sorted out and our group spread out a little bit to pass the time. Bond and Chili went on an adventure the the west which resulted in some interesting finds- including a very substantial base south of Tisy which was respectfully raided for some convenience items. We posted an "all hands" message to go back and pick our teeth on the remaining inventory but by the next day it was reportedly being emptied. "Not sure if someone else found it or if they're busy moving locations... but much of the inventory is gone." We did run into a couple other bases closer to home- a little too close. We put our Helper Skelter caps on long enough to place several mines around the more substantial offending base just to help keep them on their toes while we kept our eyes on a couple of other small plots. One member reported that the military tent that Bam and I found in Smirnovo had been moved out of the garage (we'd had a firefight there a couple weeks back) but had then been placed semi glitched into a hill next to the road slightly west of its original location. We were licking our chops at the prospect of dragging the military tent back for our own purposes and I met up with Chili on location to pack the tent up and start the long trek back to our base with it. It was also intended to be a bit of an "F U" to the guy who ambushed us. Don't get me wrong- someone defending his own property is expected... but F U all the same. I emptied the tent of what I can only describe as entirely uninspiring loot (same as had been the case when we first found it) and tried to pack it but couldn't find the prompt. The back corner of the tent was glitched in terrain so I wasn't sure if that was the reason... but nothing I could do would bring up the prompt. Chili tried and also failed at which point we turned to google-machine. We found a few mentions of sweet spots and hidden loot items etc. but nothing worked. We left it in place and haven't been back to see if it's still there. One day I returned to our base to find that the windshield of the car had been smashed... which caused me some significant concern since it meant that our base had been found and someone ostensibly crazed / smashed the windshield (car was still green) and didn't take anything in the whole camp. Wait a minute... The next day I logged in and the windshield was fine. 1.0. Unfortunately helping freshies out isn't always rewarding since it really isn't all that hard to survive right now. Sometimes we stumble into someone who is brand new to the game and can actually get some gratification from setting them along the right path... Some know enough about the game to lure you over to bandage them and then try to stun punch you- so of course you cut them up but you're left feeling a bit raunchy. Needless to say the routine leaves a little to be desired and guys get bored and start acting out a bit. But there's literally nothing to do right now... base is built... car is stolen... we have everything we want. Now what?

    Status Report - January 2019

Okay thanks for saying that... I'd read somewhere that slamminlola was in and never really wanted to try it out. I always chuckle every time I kill an animal and all the meat and fat is laying around... I think it was you who wrote about "eating a whole sheep" and even right now as I write that I'm laughing... the concept is hilarious to me. Anyway... okay so disregard what I said about the chicken but I can say human meat will have a high potential of giving your kuru and that will result in your character laughing like a rooster- with annoying frequency. It would be a little less annoying if it shifted between laughing and crying but priorities I guess. Though I don't know if we know what the priorities are since it's almost mid-march and as far as I know they're still having meetings about the roadmap.
  10. Absolutely... I haven't quite figured out what the relationship or ratio of "hit points" is in terms of where you're striking from but it definitely seems like I have to hack away a lot when I'm clipping through a zombie as opposed to standing off- yet the hits continue to register. If I am able to stand off and strike with a combat / hunter knife I can often take one down in a couple of swipes... but if I'm "one" with the zombie I'll have to hit them 6-7 times. I haven't paid enough attention to notice if there are ever times I'm standing off when it takes me that often (which would suggest a little more RNG in the strike) or if it's always 2-3 strikes from standoff distance and always 6-8 when in coitus... It's not game breaking by any means... typically you can work through it. Maybe my galactic expectations of 1.0 are simply over the top.

Who actually build bases and repair cars?

I'd have to go back and find the original thread where bases and helicopters along with some other fuckery was being announced... and I figured that would be the end for me. I loved the idea of what DayZ was and what other games weren't... I wasn't at all interested in seeing it try and do things that other titles were already doing. Bases are in and yet I'm still here- but their implementation has been so irrelevant it was just another check in the box: 1) Find a heli crash. Check. 2) Build a fire. Check. 3) Wear a pea coat. Check. 4) Build a base. Check. 5) Steal a car full of M4s. Check. Between being excruciatingly vulnerable and serving no purpose than to store gear that we've been told religiously to not become attached to... the adding of bases has been completely unremarkable. It's paradoxical in that on one hand you spend all this time building the thing to store all this gear you're not supposed to give a shit about for various reasons... so it should mean that you don't care if someone breaks in and sacs the whole place. But it isn't just about the gear- it's about being able to declare that small section of map as your own. If you build it right... this should be the case. If you had walls that enclosed a certain space on a map I can't imagine it would be difficult to input a script that excluded that part of the map from people spawning into- preventing ghosting on the official pubs. People argue that we have tools and that's what tools are for but the maps are filled with windows you can't break with a fucking sledgehammer so... yeah. Let's maybe balance some of this out.

    Status Report - January 2019

Pretty sure salmonella is in if you eat raw chicken, and I know kuru is in since one of our guys has been giggling maniacally for days. There's also some sort of cold that people can get- I'm not entirely sure how but the ongoing coughing exposed a guy trying to ambush us some time ago. You also get sick with dirty water- causing irregular vomitous. It's certainly not the greatest but they're in game.

    [Recipe] Steamed Stuffed Peppers

We can get away with eating most meat raw now- I think raw chicken and raw human are the only two that cause any issues. I’m sure that’ll get fixed at some point but for now I still like to take down a deer / hog / etc when I see one since they do provide a large amount of food. I used to cook it all but don’t bother anymore since there is no penalty for eating it raw and no benefit to cooking it. We used to talk about there being a “morale” effect- where some items discussed above would have a positive impact on your character somehow. Improve resistance to disease / injury maybe- boost soft skills a bit... whatever- just some tangible gain for investing time in your character.

    Respawning as a female?

You didn't accidentally end up in a Hard Core (HC) or experimental server by any chance? Either on your first guy, or your second? Are you saying your dude ends up in the same place where you logged out but with no equipment on?

    Weather change lag spike

    Fixed that for you...
  18. And if you want to stay in the shadows of less busy servers simply use that medium server as a reference and organize your server browser by time. Then pick one that is "close" to the medium server and it should be about the same time. We're also using "Battlemetrics.com" to verify time. It'll show actual numbers of people as well as current time in the server...

    How was your Day(Z)?

Things have been busy with the Helpy Helpers recently as we shaved off our PVE beards, parked our base initiative and decided it was time to go do some serious Helpy Helpering. We headed to a busy server and leaned into things. Within minutes of our last hop we ran into character on the southeast end of Svet- our long term playground. That quickly changed as another character, unknown to the first, was also in the immediate area. Bam and I were geared up but both of these players caught onto the fact they were safe with us very quickly... probably because they were still alive. "I just encountered someone by Berezino who lured me over with a map and asked if I wanted help... then he shot at me." "That's exactly the type of person we're here to deal with..." As if on cue there were several gunshots nearby- but to the West. "Time to go- here's some water!" I dropped a bottle of water for them more as a gesture than because they really needed it. I realized later the shots had happened somewhere totally different than where the reported problem occurred... so we did miss out on the chance to go deal with the guy with the map. We did, however encounter the shooter over at the tents west of Svet- he graciously accepted our all expenses paid one way trip to the beach. On our return to Svet we ran into another character who was up for letting things play out. We provided him with some essential gear and escorted him to the water fountain. He was settled into a drinking cycle and casually chatting with us when I heard a zombie agro... "I can hear zombies attacking someone over here... I'll go check it out." "Time for you to scram little buddy." I took the guy out onto another street and pointed him to the west where he wanted to continue to gear up. "Contact! I have a guy here in one of the rooms-" Gunshots... "He's shooting at me!" "Coming!" More shots- "Got him- one down!" Zombies were everywhere running in and out of buildings, across the street... I thought for a second I'd missed an announcement for a NKOB concert for all 5 of their living fans. I came around the corner through a fence and saw one zombie run in, another ran out and Bam wasn't far behind. I then stupidly barged in and plugged the door so he couldn't leave... we were all just running in place. Bam hit a vacuum pose and squeezed past while I headed in further thinking he'd been injured by someone in the room at the end of the hall. There was nobody there... "There's another guy out here!" Holy fuck already. I rushed back out and Bam was shooting to my right... at Zombies but then another guy flashed past me with a shotgun in his hands shooting towards Bam so I mag dumped on him and reloaded. The guy was down. I kept shooting at zombies- "Did you get the guy out in the street?" "What guy? No, I've got a guy here by the water fountain with the motorcycle helmet on." The last guy never did show back up again. Next contact was at Olsha and we responded to some gunfire up there. Those guys didn't want to play things out so Bond (Called B before) engaged from a distance but hit one guy and missed the second. We were closing on Olsha coming from Svet- for reasons I'm not 100% sure about I ended up closing on the small shed on the north side of the long barn there, confirmed the guy was in there then figured I could just hose him down from outside. I couldn't. He daintily walked out the door and filled my cheeks with lead. My "loud" character which has survived for the past month or so- was dead. Bam didn't waste any time sprinting right up to the door with his M4 drawn and held the trigger down as 5.56 tap danced through the soul of my killer. I dropped about 10 characters outside of Cherno / Elektro / Sol before I finally got a spawn near Svet. Fortunately Bam and Bond were able to collect a majority of my gear so I could get back in action. Missing a few items- of note a tactical helmet and my red athletic sunglasses... Hard times...

    Where do civilian tents spawn?

Found one quite some time ago on one of those kiosk / concession type structures with the ladder to the right of the door. I haven't seen one up there for awhile but I do keep checking just in case.

    Respawning as a female?

OP: This is the easiest way to resolve the issue- but you need to remember every time you die that you need to exit first, then choose your new customized dude and then go back into the game. Park your stuff in a barrel if you can find one then go pick a fight with a zombie and kill yourself until you respawn nearby. Each time you need to exit, choose your guy and then click Play again. Spawns up north are a little less frequent so if you're around the SE corner of the map by the beach most spawn points are within a 5-10 minute run.
  22. I get this every so often... I end up having to close the game and start over again. Usually this resolves it. As for the character glitch... sounds weird- only thing I can think of is your first character was in an HC (hardcore 1PP) server while all your follow up games with the second character were in normal 3PP... They will have separate characters. If you change the names of your characters and expand on the server information (on the left of the server browser window for each server) you can see which character is living and will be used in that specific server. Assuming each one of your attempts is on the official public servers it should all line up with the same dude. I'm curious about the first character though... take screenshots if you can.
  23. I think there is some measure of hope that the Dev team are going to see that one last "I quit" thread and call an emergency meeting. "Folks, we've just learned that so-and-so is leaving and this is the tilting point. It's now incandescently clear that we need to unleash "Project Master Beta."" "Master Beta? What's that?" "It's our top secret ACTUAL Beta that we've been working on all this time in the background at an entirely different studio. The other one month Minor Beta was a social experiment but clearly now that this last person quit that has blown up in our face. This Master Beta is literally "THE" perfect game- everything we promised with a bunch of other content people have asked for- all of which works in perfect harmony." "Wow- wish we would have known this before... Do you have any idea how much shit and abuse we take on the forums and other social media platforms on account of that one month Minor Beta?" "Yeah... a true thrashing. But I mean really if you think about it it is kind of funny. 5 years in EA and then a 1 month Beta? Surely people must have known deep down that we had something up our sleeves. What do they think we are?! Totally incompetent??!" "Okay so now we can expect a Master Beta release?" "Yes... the community will bask in the radiance of our Beta wisdom- all thanks to that last person who posted about quitting. He will forever be a legend."
  24. All I can say is thank goodness bugs like this exist otherwise I’d have nothing to complain about.
