Pretty easy provided you have a headset / mic set up. Nice thing about it is that Steam will notify you of people in your friends list coming into DayZ. If you want to talk to them just hit left Shift and Tab to open up the communication screen. Just view friends and double click on their name to open a chat window with them. Click on the arrow in the top right of the chat window and click "start voice chat (I think)." It will ring them and they'll have the option of picking it up. Let's say that you and schwab are chatting away and he sees me come in- then he can click on that arrow again, go "invite to chat" and it'll show him a list of people he can invite. He'll choose my name and it brings me in on the conversation- Once that is done he can Shift Tab out and back into the game. It works in the background and from what I know is not resource intensive. The effect is the same as TS3- but the process is a little different. Balota is, unfortunately, the exact opposite of the map from where we're working right now. Unless you find a truck... (or we do!)

DayZ Standalone - Complete noob looking to get stuck in!
eno replied to MadMcardle's topic in New Player Discussion
I just re-read my post and it occurred to me that I kind of sound like I'm endorsing those activities... the ghosting, the server hopping... I'm definitely not. But definitely things you need to be aware of that do happen out there and also reasons why a private shard is preferable... levels out the playing field for people. With that said, since the last character wipe I only have a single public character in action... so public isn't ALL that bad! -

Advantage with the private is you can have a different character (perhaps with different motives) in each private server. Pub servers will all be the same character... Pubs are more prone to ghosting and loot spawning- things you may have read about already but basically take advantage of the multiple parallel universes that exist between each public server. Imagine for one minute- you buy a server for your own character so you can run around at leisure in your own world... kick everyone else out when they come in and then go jump onto a busy public server to go pick on fresh spawns like a certified badass. Oh wait- even better... get all your clan buddies in so that now you have MANY certified badasses to run around and do badassery... Yeah... It happens. In private domains, you are in a single map with a single character... so you can't bounce from server to server either running away from a fight or to gather up loot from the same place 10 times... An additional benefit to that is you tend to see fewer trolls... not as many people are geared up to the nuts... Private shards can also be more controlled by the moderators- they can require whitelisting (application) or just be invitational if desired. They can actually lock the door- As you get more into it you'll be amazed at how the various game systems can be manipulated to your advantage... but I get the impression you'll get much more out of the game if you just keep doing things the good, ol' fashioned way! -
On the off chance you don't know how to fix the blur on your screen after you get hit- just turn off post process in your video settings. Perhaps it's a purist thing related to an injury? Not sure. Passed that one to the guy I roll with and was surprised he didn't know about it... so figured I might put it out there.

Schwab and I have been using Steam Chat... and that seems to be working well now that we've figured out some of the functions for inviting people etc. TS3 is an old favourite and I have my own server for my clan in another game. Which area is your character in?

Schwab and I got together again at Novo to see what kind of action we could drum up. The last reunion (video above) at Svet was a refreshing blast of activity and interaction of sorts followed swiftly by hours of silence. We worked the main road through Novo and looked into a few of the guard shacks to see if we could find anything of use but short of a couple nice to haves it was the same old thing: Loads of vests of every description (including the previously mystical Smersh vest I'd never seen until a few days ago), some boots- makarov clips... An AK74U (but no mags) etc. We agreed to make our way back out east towards Svet and see what was happening around there. We've been playing a bit more aggressively than I'm used to and I wanted a chance to get back into helping people out a bit more... protecting the weak from the "others." As we worked our way towards Svet from the West, DaveB got on and mentioned his character was also in Svet. We coordinated through Steam Chat and eventually ended up joining him in Svet. We had a bit of a hairy moment right away as he opened fire on a zed just across the tracks from where we found him- then another... and another... and another... they were coming from everywhere. I think he knocked out most of them- Schwab may have grabbed one as well. I hung out up high and watched for trouble or activity while those two looked for a few things on our shopping list- including spray paint. They burgled as I watched over them to try and ensure they weren't taken by surprise... but no paint. Finally some movement caught my eye in the train yard. I was able to confirm that the person didn't have any weapons... whether they had a bag... how they were dressed... I won't go through all our engagements- but we saw a weird trend develop that evening. It went something like this: I would call out a location, description and direction of a target and DaveB / Schwab would intercept. They have an advantage since I'll have been able to prepare them for what they're going into. Once they get into range, Schwab would initiate contact. "Hey- put your hands up!" No response other than the character would turn and run away. Okay- not really a surprise. Schwab has some good kit and so does DaveB. "Stop running- we can probably help you out!" No response- just more running away... generally to ladders. In this area, these ladders generally belong to cranes. Cranes that proved incredibly easy to jump off of. One guy was more compliant... Schwab told him to get down on his knees so we could cuff him- "You'll be fine... we're not going to hurt you- we're just protecting ourselves." Schwab tried to cuff him and the guy kept moving around. "Dave- shoot him in the leg." Dave held a vote in his head as to which leg he was going to shoot and ostensibly shot the guy in the face instead... Not sure that one was going to hold up in court so we promptly hid the body and moved on. Another freshie... Tracked him down but this again resulted in another ladder swan dive. Now I'm actually starting to feel bad for people- I think perhaps we are "loving" a bit too much... killing people with kindness. "LET US HELP YOU!" "No." "Alright then- you asked for it!" You are dead We're literally not running around looking for people to kill- it's just that everyone we come across either resists or kills themselves. Wish we had that series on tape... (cough do we schwab? cough).

Going to highly recommend taking a look at the "How was your DayZ" thread... A bunch of guys (including me) have committed a great number of adventures to words that can definitely help you get a feel for emerging trends and different ways to initiate conversations. Make no mistake- it's going to end one in 4 ways: 1) Guy kills you as soon as he sees you no matter what you say. 2) Guy approaches you, does a quick assessment on whether you have something he wants and after a brief conversation kills you- no matter what you say. 3) Guy gains your trust and may even be helpful to you until you turn your back or walk around the corner to get smacked by his sniping friend that is talking to him on TS3. 4) Guy helps you out and actually leaves you alone- wishing you luck. (ie: a good interaction). I speak as someone who has actually had more friendly encounters than bad- though the margins are pretty tight. Really depends on where you are... and as you learn the game a bit more you'll start to figure out which areas you're more likely to encounter friendly people. This is mentioned in many, many places and is still quite subjective... but larger coastal cities like Cherno, Elektro, Berezino are areas where you are probably better off avoiding people until you're ready to do the dance of life. Any military base or air field is generally a shoot first, ask questions later area so best to sit back for a bit and assess population... Even if you're in a server with 3 people, if you're at a base then don't discount the possibility that everyone else is too. I saw you talking to BAM over in your other thread... he and I play quite a bit together and like to have like-minded folks about to work with. Especially being a bit newer I think you can help to refresh our enthusiasm for the game. Maybe we'll see you in there soon- Speaking of which- where is your character located right now? Public or Private?

Same server or a different one? You know the private vs public setup? -
Fair enough but loss of hearing is still something I'm confident is a necessary repercussion of the use of said executions regardless of whether or not its part of the thought process I spoke of... With larger caliber weapons
-
Lol Then pull the trigger all day long... That's a measurement you've already made. If it's worth your while then knock yourself out. Seriously do some people just weigh in to be argumentative? I think I made it pretty clear that the intention was meant to provide some element of disadvantage to unceremoniously shooting everything you see. If that's what you want to do then hammer away... And enjoy an hour of ringing in your ears.
-
Ah! But I thought of that... It would be "over the ear" protection- which would be visible and would actually hint towards your intentions. If I approach someone with my hearing protection on... then that will likely suggest that I'm planning on firing my weapon... If I need to fire my weapon because not firing it will result in me being killed- then so be it... it's worth the ringing in my ears for a bit. That's the thought, anyway...

This is definitely cause for concern. I was in with Schwab last night and noticed my status wasn't changing. At first I wasn't too concerned since I hadn't been moving around a lot at the time... then we ran over to novo and my status still wasn't changing. I'm not sure if the system is totally glitched (health system is literally not changing) or if the health system is changing but the notifications aren't... Which part of the system is broken? Anyone know?

In my humble opinion the thing is completely useless and I don't bother with it anymore. The range at which you'd generally be using it means that the renderer isn't going to be drawing out all the things that you think are making you hard to see. I want to sit back and watch what's going on... and I stick out like a fire cracker because the root I think I'm blending in with doesn't even show up over 100 meters away... all the bushes and ground clutter I think I'm being smart around don't even exist. You LITERALLY look like you're laying out in the open- if you're on a slope then your body is levitating. And the time required hunting down all the burlap and netting you need? F that and F the whole idea. If you're depending on a ghillie to make yourself hard to see then you're definitely doing it wrong. OR (I admit) you're doing it right. Unlike convention- the ghillie can perform remarkably well when you're in closer... under 100 meters or so. The problem is that if you're being all sneaky beaky in close- someone can always see you laying out in the open from a distance. Most guys I've come across in here who know what they're doing insist that the headgear and maybe gunwrap are as far as they'll take the ghillie. The only thing I've found it serves to do is insist to anyone who DOES see you in transit- no matter what your intentions- will kill you with EXTREME prejudice. Try talking yourself out of a jam with one on, or in your backpack when you're told to unload your gear... pretty much a death sentence without question for two reasons. 1) because you just saved a guy from having to find a million nets and 4 million burlap sacs or 2) because you're a homicidal sniping jagoff who should be chopped up into little bits and eaten raw at the expense of your assailants character's mental health. Whether the latter is true isn't really the point- except that will be the interpretation on almost every. Single. Encounter. One thing I learned about this is that camo is like armour or personal protective equipment- it should be the last line of defense. Good situational awareness and proper consideration of shine, shadow, silhouette, speed, surroundings sound and colour are important to your survival. If you're that worried about being seen avoid contact... If you think some poorly rendered shrub on your head that causes you to overheat when you blink is your solution... Well- I dare say that you're doing it wrong. And this time I really mean it.
-
Yeah I can confirm that's a zed... one of the two that ended up on top of me once our engagement was complete. I could hear them making their racket... kind of wrote it off for awhile- then when we were done I looked up and they were both literally on top of me at the level just above where I was. Fortunately the terrain was complicated and they were just walking back and forth behind me.

Nice- that is indeed very close... I am, however, on the west side of Kamensk. If lost- a few things I would have been looking for (since there was no sign on this side- not sure of the other side either come to think of it) were the proximity to the high tension lines visible across the top of the image and tried to match that up with that wooden bridge on the dayzdb map. The fact that I hadn't seen anyone in 2 days on a full server was also a bit of a hint that I was further north and not close to the coast. For this reason I'd have probably started my search on the map further north / west. The high tension lines are a REAL valuable landmark- in my opinion. One reason is because they are visible on the maps and if you see them you can trace them in search of other familiar landmarks for reference. This will help you establish your compass headings (NESW) as well as pick directional landmarks that you can head towards in confirmed directions. I come from the days of broken compasses so I haven't carried one in a long, long time. So in tracing power lines through the map I would see something like this on the dayzdb map: Blue: wooden bridge over dry riverbed (you have to expand the photo fully to see that wooden bridge) Green: High Tension Lines. Yellow Arrow: My location Yellow Circle: Photo of nearby loot spawn visible near my location with the red square indicating a medium potential cache. Some guys would also be using the sun as an additional reference to be able to confirm that the power lines were to their east... I've also read about one layer of cloud moving consistently in one direction (west to east I've recently read in another thread). The ONLY problem I have with using the sun as a reference is that I frequently forget what time it is during the day in the server... I subsequently don't depend on my analogy of the sun being more east, or more west. Sometimes what I will do is determine the direction I want to go and assess where my shadow is in relation to my character... and when I'm running I'll try to keep that aspect. This is only useful if I know what direction that orientation is representing- and typically I only know that by confirming my location on a map, finding a useful landmark and then the shadow becomes like a redundant backup in the event I drop down into a valley or otherwise out of sight of the landmark. Anyway- got some mystery photos?

One of the points I made in a post that was subsequently deleted because I was still feeding a troll was that this thread is good to exercise knowledge of the map area... picking out landmarks... identifying terrain... buildings. I'm not currently lost- I know exactly where I am... The question is: Do you? I've taken a photo with a few notable landmarks... some subtle- others not so subtle. Some of you work this area of the map and will know it right away. Show off your knowledge! Call it out! But let us know how YOU identified it... what caught your eye? What was noteworthy to you? There might be another similar thread in here somewhere and if so please just move this to that thread and I'll carry on there. For those of you who are lost... please, I invite you to continue posting as the thread suggests. Anyway- this is a new area of the map for me... VERY quiet here so far. So pray tell... Where am I?!

This has been UBER annoying for me too... I can't think of any time I haven't had to triple or quadrupal tap a key to change weapons. Hope they have that on their drawing board.

And to add to this, ZH and I had been on for about an hour before that working in that area in a relatively high pop pub server and found nothing in the way of players. However a few days ago I was running just north of Chez Eno in Zino to meet up with ZH at Riffy in a server with 4 or 5 people in it and I met 3 of them in 2 minutes. One of the guys came up to me while I was being chased by a zed / zin- asked if I was friendly (whatever that means anymore) and I replied that I was friendly but was going to have to draw a weapon to take out my pursuer. He already had a weapon drawn and started shooting at the zed / zin- killing it but drawing more attention. I pulled out my axe and started my drunken weed whacker routine until we were ambushed by silence. "Where you heading?" he asked me as we sniper shuffled around each other. "Up to Riffy to meet up with a friend. You?" "I'm meeting a friend around here- listen... you seem nice and I'm pretty nice too but the friend I'm meeting up with isn't as nice as I am. You should probably just keep moving north since he's coming up from the south." "Okay, I hear that... well thanks for helping and the words of warning. I'll beat cheeks out of here! See ya!" I ran for a few minutes and saw someone coming from the north down the main road. I paused for a minute and I think he saw me since he paused as well. I waited him out and he finally started moving again. As he got closer I stepped out from cover from about his 9 o'clock and started calling out to him. I had a weapon drawn and ready but was speaking in a non-hostile fashion. He wasn't rammy at all so I stowed my AK to put him at ease. "Hey man- you going to Berezino?" "Yeah... running through." "Okay well just a heads up- you may run into two dudes on the north end... One of them was pretty nice- but I'm told the guy he was going to meet up with isn't very nice. May or may not be worth the risk at this point considering 4 of the 5 people in the server right now are right in the same area." "Thanks for the info but that's okay- I'm going to keep going." "Rgr... need anything in the way of supplies? Food? Water?" "No man- all good. Thanks." "Very good- see ya!" We carried on our way. I met up with ZH and we proceeded back up to Szvetlojarsk to check out a few buildings before proceeding south west towards Olsha. We decided we'd wanted to stay off the grid for awhile and try our luck with hunting and living off the land for awhile. There wasn't an animal in sight anywhere- but we picked through Olsha, topped up our water supply and he logged. I headed over to overlook Novo from above the tracks to the south and just sat there watching. I sat there for quite a long time- just watching and listening. No sniper scope- but I did have binos- so really no threat to anyone but curious to see if I could watch a few people going about their business. No joy- didn't see anyone. The next day ZH and I met back up... and noticed something really neat on the map at 126022. We decided we'd go and see if that's actually on the terrain- which I confirmed it was. Kind of neat since if you just ran over it you probably wouldn't have been able to make it out. Probably not worth going out of your way for... but still kind of a neat feature if you're in that area.

Eh Tatanko... just re: the small pile of guts- can it not still be used as a heat pack? Seems to me you used to be able to heat them on the fire (probably in a cooking pot / pan now) and use them for heat packs. When they're fresh they're already warm also... That was the only thing I was using them for. Also in the changelog I think it mentioned you could mix guts with plant material (in a barrel) and make fertilizer. I'll have to double check that one.

I've read a bunch of this thread as it is interesting and I do support a more cooperative style of play. The whole gun control debate will rage on as will the legitimacy of a KOS playstyle. I often see the negative effects of gun use on the external environment- ie: gunshots reveal your location... stir zombie hordes... whatever. I don't think I've seen a lot of commentary on the effects of a gunshot on your character's senses- hearing in particular. I think about the fact that I can sit there and hear a mosquito buzzing by my ear... then I fire a clip from an automatic weapon and immediately after the clip is empty I can still hear a fly. I'm sure many of you firearm enthusiasts can attest that firing a weapon is going to knock your hearing back more than a smidge. The more you fire it, the more of an impact there will be on your hearing for a longer amount of time. I'd definitely be less inclined to be firing a weapon off if I knew the result of a single shot was going to be either dampened hearing or an annoying ringing in my ears for 5-20 minutes (depending on the discharge) AND an increased chance of alerting the zombie horde. In addition it would have an impact on anyone in the immediate area- your cohorts... your opponents. Is it going to stop idiots from running around killing things with their volume turned off? No- I suppose not... but it's a mechanic I think would help add a reason not to just fire the weapon off each time you see someone. People are shooting first and asking questions later because they have no reason not to. We can't add value to human life in the game... but we can add value to making a decision not to use the weapon as often. In the event you're fighting for your life... now it's something that you're ready to tolerate or work harder to avoid in the future. Having hearing protection of the over the ear variety might be a solution... but would be visible from a distance and might be a "tell" as to a players intentions. Sorry- was a bit off center for the thread in terms of cooperation... but the thread seems equally pointed at trying to figure out what would limit the tendency to shoot everything.

I noticed they call the NE location an "air strip" as opposed to an "air field" so not having a dedicated ATC structure never really meant anything. (Then again, I guess Balota is called an air strip too and it has ATC...) Their air control office (in the NEAS) seems to be in the admin building attached to the hangar... and I've seen some decent stuff built up in there. We have a similar sized aerodrome here on site and they work ATC in an ATCO trailer near the ramp. It's just a radio base station with some computer monitors and enough room for a guy to sit down. This is at a 15 billion dollar facility- so I imagine it's at least par for the course with regional airstrips in "Chernarus."

Logged in with .57 and a pleasant surprise so far. Spawned in near Chez Eno and noticed quite a few changes... there's a fire station near the plant facility to the north... and some different buildings in different spots. A bit more elaborate tracks go by... just a slightly different feel to it. Also a house across the street from Chez Eno now. Didn't get a lot of chance to try things out. Noticed some subtle changes that I'm sure you'll see immediately. Grew some pumpkins (that now take up 6 spots instead of 4)... things seem pretty good.

I've been using it as a can opener for awhile but recently I've noticed that it's hit or miss in terms of how much product gets spilled. For a short period there I was losing more than half... The last few times it's hardly spilled at all... Anyone else seeing the same thing- what is it related to? How new it is? How damaged it is? Or is this completely unrelated and random?

Had a decent run with ZH last night- starting at Riffy with a rather incomplete character. ZH had never really been around the ship before so he and I met there a couple days ago and spawned in together there last night. He was starving and thirsty and I was dark brown thirsty... He was in one of the cargo holds and I went over to a ledge to show him where I was... desync or something and I dropped to my death. He started running to Berezino in hopes that he'd find something to eat or drink. Death was another option since I respawned down by Cap Galova and we were a bit impatient by now about running for 20 minutes each what with a Hive wipe coming up in a couple days. The second I spawned in I was being mauled by a zed. Alright fine- #@%@# stupid but fine. I let it kill me and rolled the dice again. Same general area- but immediately I started getting shot at from someone in a bush. Single shots- probably an SKS. Then a shot gun blast from a second person. I started wildly running around in elaborately random fashion... Ran right up to these guys, around them... past them and back again. One guy calls out, "Hey- back off buddy." "You shot at me... you going to knock that shit off?" "Yeah- just move along." I knew better than to take him for his word but started to run away down the train track while using 3PP to look over my shoulder. I ran for about 5 seconds before I noticed one of them take a knee. Waited one more split second- Sidestep- Snap! "Oh it's on now!" I turned around and ran around them like a tazmanian devil with a meth addiction. I don't need to make a racket- I just needed to run a crazy figure 8 pattern around the two of them while they shot at me. Schwab and I had this happen to us once before with a Zed... suffice to say unpredictable things happened and I was hoping for something similar this time around. Shotgun... single shot... small auto... was just waiting for the clunk of a kitchen sink to land beside me as I tapdanced my way to infamy. Then there was only one guy shooting. "Hmmm- oh no! What happened!? Shoot your friend did ya?" I ran around a bit longer and got bored with it so I darted off over a hill and regrouped. Got bored again (since ZH was still up near Berezino) and ran back to see what was up. I took all my stuff off first and headed over to the fountain since that is usually where all the idiots hang out waiting in ambush of total newspawns. Got within sight of the well- Snap! You are dead. Moving along- I respawn and ZH gets killed by a zed after 20 minutes of trying to poison and drown himself (reminds me of the joke of the guy who tried to commit suicide by hanging himself, shooting himself and poisoning himself... He drinks poison, jumps and shoots but ends up shooting the rope and landing in the extremely cold ocean... throws up the poison and ends up being hauled aboard a french fishing vessel where I think he died of exposure or alcohol poisoning.) Anyway- ZH and I rendezvous after a respawn in Severograd... pure luck there. We headed back towards the beach while making some stops along the way. Prison? Sure, why not. "Let's just go for it... it'll wipe soon anyway." We get in there and ZH says he's found a repeater and a Mosin. Good fortune since I'd JUST found some 357 ammo and picked up a rare 7.62x51 box only minutes before. I got up to the office and handed him over the 357. "Where's the Mosin?" "Right here on the shelf." "Which shelf..." I looked over my shoulder to see which one he was looking at since I couldn't see one on any shelf. "Weird." I could see it on his screen but not on mine. "Try picking it up." "It says 'detach sighting scope' (or something to that effect)." "Glitch I guess." I was just walking out of the room when someone else came in with a red jacket and a cowboy hat... he had a shotgun drawn. I knew I was dead- ZH might have a chance since he had a loaded repeater... "Whoa whoa!" I shouted... hoping for some good fortune. I was mashing on my F2 key while I was at it... "It's okay man," the red guy assured. "I'm not going to shoot you." Of course I'm WAY beyond taking someone at their word by now. "Well thanks- we're just hanging out before the wipe... exploring a little. We're no threat to you and don't want any trouble." "Nah- I'm looking for a guy with a hockey stick." "He a douche canoe?" "Yeah, he tried to kill me earlier." "We'll keep our eye open- thanks for the tip." ZH and I said our goodbyes and headed down the street a bit where we found a well. I said I'd stand watch while he drank and he could return the favour. He took some pulls from the well and I stepped in after. Right in between sips- "Hey, there's a guy! Hey! Are you friendly?" Mumbles I couldn't hear... "Where is he?" "On the street- just down from the bus." I took a quick cheat peak at his screen to get my bearings. The guy was about 100 feet away so we still had some margin of safety and loads of cover around- assuming the guy wasn't a decoy... "I'll flank- try to see if he's armed." "Do you have any weapons?" Meanwhile I made my way around a building and saw the guy standing in the middle of the street- he was caught in some glitch where it looks like he's trying to take a weapon of his shoulder so I couldn't tell what he was ACTUALLY doing. I also didn't want to just shoot him outright. I stepped around the corner briefly to get a bead on him and let him know he wasn't the only show in town. "Whoa whoa! Something something something dark side... something something something complete." I couldn't hear what he was saying... I had that trouble throughout the game- my volumes are all messed up. He was still in that shoulder glitch... couldn't tell if he was looking at me... couldn't tell what he was saying. When in doubt- bug out! "Let's get out of here-" I said over my shoulder. Both of us tactically advanced to the rear (ran like little bitches) to a building a couple streets down taking an evasive route to avoid being followed. Once we were satisfied we weren't being followed, ZH and I had a quick chat about what just happened to figure out if we were going to go back and make contact again. "He seemed okay- he didn't shoot at me." ZH still sees the best in people and to a degree I do too... but I'm really careful about how long I keep my eye on someone. We agreed to make our way back but before we got far we could hear voices. ZH was a bit further down the street than I was and he could hear at least 2 people talking. "There's 3! I can see 3 guys!" "Can they see you?" "No-" "I'm moving over to the street." ZH had moved a lot more than I thought- and as I came around the corner I could see at least 1 guy... then 2. Then a 3rd... but THAT guy was ZH. We'd miscommunicated and ZH initiated before I was in place. "Hey- hey you guys. I don't want to shoot but I will- what are you doing here?" I couldn't hear the replies from where I was. I moved slowly up the side of the road with buildings behind me and with the weapon drawn. When I had a good picture, I stopped. I saw 2 guys looking at ZH but couldn't see the third. They were keeping their weapons down- one even put one on his shoulder. Where is this third guy? Is this an elaborate ruse? (Yes, love the word!) "My friend is with me, and he has his gun pointed at you guys so don't do anything funny... we're just protecting ourselves." "Hey!" said someone from further away. "I'm here... I'm not a threat. I'm with those guys. I'm coming in and I'm putting my weapon away. I'll even put it on the ground." The guy came up from down the street... came up towards me with his weapon shouldered, then put it on the ground at my feet. There was a smashload of chatter at this point as these guys were really quite accommodating and polite. They explained they were just on their way through to head over to the NEAF. One of the guys was the cowboy in red- "Oh yeah- this guy gave us a pass at the prison just now so if you're with him that puts me at ease." I told ZH to shoulder his weapon and I did the same. One of the guys thought he recognized my voice from something that involved some pretty weird stuff that I'm certain I'd have remembered if I'd been associated with it- but then he got impatient with us standing around chatting and he left. ZH, cowboy, his friend and I then just headed over to NEAF where there was basically nothing... then headed up towards Krasnostov when the server reset. Overall- a great experience this time around! And if the red cowboy and his buddy ever read this drop me a line! Let's do that again!
