0.60 Winchester M70 Sniper Action - DayZ Elektro MASSACRE!
eno replied to Panzer843's topic in Gallery
The only thing better than one generic sniper action in elektro post is TWO generic sniper action in elektro posts. -
getting some weird behavior near the 10 hour mark of our server uptime... As usual nothing at all indicated by devs as to what this may pertain. It's a secret- do he report to the "bug trackaire."

You get my vote for longest run on sentence of 2016 (so far).

There's also often a disconnect between maturity and youtube since most are under the impression that nobody will watch their stuff unless they act like the biggest fucking idiot on the internet. As soon as anyone knows you've hit "record" is around the time everyone's "biggest idiot" shows himself.

When you think you've obtained amazing gear but haven't satisfied the DayZ gods.

I'm sure you've noticed that the grenade did what grenades do in this game and just randomly hit air and got flung backwards and probably dropped right at the doorway or very close to it... Not sure if that's what you were talking about or just the fact that the guy survived at all to kill your wingman. Still a bit hesitant to use any type of grenade- other than smokes. The smokes actually don't look too bad.- 1 reply

1600 hours in on DayZ, however, it's a struggle to have (in game) thoughts of any other kind. Fixed that for ya!

But we could catch them in the act and kill them for it... ALMOST makes it worthwhile.

Thanks Parazight. We've had 2x acceleration on for awhile now and enjoyed it but nighttime is still not really having the impact that it should what with the gamma "hax" so generally we're staying away from it. We also heard a rumour (that we think we can write off as false) that the overheating bug was exacerbated by the time acceleration. We turned time acceleration off to test it so now we can pretty much just let the server reset on its own without any manual input. Should be daytime only until night isn't what it is now. -
I stopped reading here.

I've found that zucchini makes a great water bottle... not great for energy, however. Speaking of zucchini- anyone seen bananas?

So halfway through the game you just up the system requirements?
eno replied to DukeHenry's topic in General Discussion
Our gaming experience depends on eagerly lapping up salty tears of people who are too cheap to upgrade their systems to meet the demands of games in development. It means the games are moving into the present instead of wasting any more time in the past. -
Well duh.

Going to bump this in hopes that Bam at some point updates the Initial Post with the current name. The playhouse is alive and well under the name << = The Helpy Helpers: For Mercy or Mayhem >> We have, however, been having some trouble getting it to show up in the server browser. It takes a few clicks of refresh before it shows up... Not sure what that's about. If you'd like to remote in please use the following details: 208.167.250.211 Port: 2302 The public domain remains a little difficult to play the game out the way it was intended. Many servers are still frequently kicking people to protect their stashes and server resets (I don't mean restarts, I mean actual loot resets) to loot regen are common. While our public domain is in its design the same as every other public hive, with the same amount of loot and same level of admin privileges, we don't try and pretend it's our own cheap private shard. Everyone is welcome to come in, kill us, stash their stuff... head off to high pops and do whatever they're going to do and come back to grab more gear. Whatever- it's public and that's the way the meta has shifted. We'd rather people stay and play... but also recognize the idea of stashing gear on a low pop is safer than trying to stash it on a 50/50. The server has been up since August and isn't going anywhere any time soon. Our Helpy Helper's group has been growing steadily as we encounter more folks who share our desire to help or hinder as the situation calls for. We all enjoy the additional challenge of actual interaction and also thrive in the chaos of a firefight. We cherish the sense of uncertainty as the server population climbs. We'd rather promote the atmosphere of a private shard by having randoms and regulars alike coming in to survive in our server by choice instead of stashing and dashing to other high pops for a fight. We've seen a growing number of regulars... probably killed a few and been killed by a few- even talked to a few. We'd like to continue to promote the use of the server within the forums on the off chance that we get the right balance of fight and flighters in the server pop to balance the game out the way we think makes it the most fun to play. To those of you who have taken up residence, please drop us a note in here! Maybe we can set up a "cold" zone reunion this weekend or something? -
Same here within our group- quite a few plate carriers and a few holsters... no pouches.

I've always thought the idea of resting flocks of birds launching into the air when disturbed would be a great addition- whether to betray snipers or zombies or just players passing through. Tents / barrels storing perishable food- particularly meat- would increase zombie / animal interest. Leaving bodies in your wake (without hiding) would also be a natural draw on a variety of different creatures. I know if I'm patrolling a certain area and I see some birds circling in the distance my alarum bells would be ringing... to investigate or not to investigate- check weapons status and bowels. I'm interested in seeing how they implement the predators... It will definitely add a unique component to the game and may help to control / adjust the use of unprotected tents and barrels to store food items long term.

Lighting just exists- cloudy, sunny... thunder, no thunder... I'm hoping at some point in the near future it will significantly add to the environment... right now it's just a useless backdrop that contributes very little. With that said- those few times where all parts are in play: The dark building skies, some rain and thunder cracks... It has the potential- it's just not executed properly yet.

Cars are despawning- generally after 2 server restarts. We do know from the debacle of .59 that we were SUPPOSED to be able to interact with a single inventory item in a storage unit to "reset" the timer for the container... problem was that if you didn't interact with the actual storage unit (tent / barrel) then THAT disappeared in 8 days with everything in it. What I'm not sure anyone has confirmed yet is that function does in fact work as intended- or not.
-
I would put a warning at the beginning that the video is likely to cause seizures in basically everyone. Dogs too.
-
Bases are restricted to tents of varying sizes and barrels. We're not exactly sure how long these are persistent because reasons. Use at your own risk.
-
The fail in the necro repels any computer envy, me thinks. If you can keep hydration up then you'll live... but it takes a lot of time. You're sick- eat, drink and repeat. Many park their gear in a barrel and F11.

Or Intel something... if it's an onboard / integrated graphics card (unless is an integrated nvidia card or something) then you're going to be SOL. If you go into your device manager and look at your display adapter it will tell you what your graphics card is. I'm willing to wager it's some onboard / integrated thing. In which case only a new video card is going to resolve your issue. When I google "DayZ minimum requirements" it brings up a detailed list including: Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 440 or AMD Radeon HD 5850 or Intel HD Graphics 4000 with 512 MB VRAM. I'm willing to wager what you're running is not quite up to that. I see Intel HD Graphics in there- which is integrated... buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut that's far from "recommended."
-
Just a thought- if you go into your device manager are you showing a conflict in your audio devices? Wondering if you have onboard sound going as well as a sound card?

Tried 0.60 after a long time away from DayZ
eno replied to Evilsausage's topic in General Discussion
No kidding. I've been on ONE server (ours) since .60 broke and yet it still takes me 3 refresh clicks to see it in the history and even that's if I'm lucky. I mean, that's a stupid problem to have and I know how to get around it- it's just annoying.
