v175 beta: meat issues [solved] [old]

v175 beta: meat issues [solved] [old]
SkrooLoose (DayZ) replied to Dayzo's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yes; naturally it's unrealistic. But so is a companion applying a blood bag to you, bringing your heath back up to full in that same 3 seconds. The point of the thread wasn't about the aspect of realism. It was about the unbalance of the proposed nerf to meat vs. none to blood bag. Imagine a lonewolf player encountering a group and a fire fight ensues. If the lone players hits one of the group, that person hit could have a companion "bag" him and he'd be back to full health in seconds... all while in battle. Now what option does the lone player have if he's hit? He can't restore to full health while in battle. For him to restore his health it's now a drawn-out process. My suggestion; if food can only be eaten every 3 minutes then make the blood bag restore health in 3 minute increments. If cans only give 200 and meat gives 800 (max), then average out the blood bag to restore health at 500, every 3 minutes until fully healed. That would seem completely fair. Blood Bag advantage: only one slot and can fully restore health disadvantage: has to be administered by another person Meat advantage: can be used by lone players disadvantage: takes up many slots But both use the same time increments to keep balance. -

Yeah, and in real life you sure as hell wouldn't be picking up and using unrefrigerated blood bags to bring your blood back up. So your point is moot. This is not real life. Maybe you should stop whining about others legitimate posts concerning the imbalance the proposed patch would create. -

Actually, just the opposite. People are going to be more prone to kill others right away because they are not going to want to chance being shot themselves. -

Why such a condescending remark? I posted about the white list being enabled because only 5 hours prior to your comment, you posted that the white list was just turned off for the week. So I was trying to be nice by posting that it was, in fact, still on... in case you or one of your admins accidentally made a mistake and re-enabled it. -

Not everyone can afford a penny. -
If someone has a problem coming up with $20 within 3 months then they shouldn't be gaming to begin with.

Simply amazing at how many IDIOTS are saying 32 gigs of ram is a waste. Some even going as far as calling him stupid. You guys making those statement are the one's who are obviously computer-illiterate. Maybe you morons show actually research on what could be done with that much ram before spouting off, making yourselves look like idiots. -

 Yeah, it's that easy, right? It's not like they'd have to take in to consideration the socket of their current mobo. Or the rating of their psu. Or the size of their case (meaning will a long card even fit). It makes no sense to buy THE top end hardware unless you're one of those people who put together a new rig every year for the shear performance factor. It's better to buy the upper mid-level hardware and sell it every other year, putting that cash towards new upper mid-level hardware.

Yep, this is correct. Of course, that's what AA is for. The larger you try to "stretch out" the picture, the more AA will help to smooth out the jagged edges. But naturally by cranking up the AA more, now you are putting stress on your gpu. Using AA, you will have a fps drop. Then again, it's also going to depend on how close you plan on sitting in front of your hdtv. If you're back far enough then the pixelation isn't as noticeable so you could get away with leaving the AA turned down. In the end, it's all going to depend on the user and what he's / she's happy with.

You were "told this". Well, atleast you (and the other 90% of DayZ players) would have known this if you weren't too lazy to learn to play the game. There's a Boot Camp for a reason. Not to mention the tons of other ArmA mods you guys don't even know about. You haven't even scratched the surface of what greatness A2 has to offer.
-
It doesn't matter if the screen is 96" or 19"... 1920 x 1080 is still the same resolution. Going with a larger screen doesn't require more processing power because all you're doing is "stretching out" the picture, not adding pixels.
-
Half the crowd uses the mentality that if they have at least one setting on "High / Ultra", then that means they're playing at High / Ultra. The other half can actually play on High / Ultra because they use lower resolution monitor settings.
