Agreed. I've had it happen to me once in the past. I don't know if it's the only solution, but deleting and reinstalling did work for me. -

A. Please point out where I've stated what admins should or shouldn't do. B. I have admin-ed. But it doesn't take a fellow admin to know when there's reasonable admins and when there's unreasonable admins. Obviously, this far in to the mod people are simply fed up and sick of the hackers. That goes without saying. Admins are gamers, too, and they want to spend time playing themselves. Yes, you're frustrated and it's easy to just ban someone without warning. And the obvious hackers should be banned right off the bat. But if someone joins the server with a suspicious weapon and does nothing more than play, does he really need to be banned without a warning / kick first? -

Definitely definitely definitely did a great job on the map. It's my new favorite. Just a few small bugs but nothing which couldn't be addressed. Also, there most certainly are vehicles. I spent a few hours fixing up an UAZ yesterday. Now that I've got a running vehicle, I'm going to drive around looking for more in need of repair. As I find them I like to put the parts in them, leaving them for others to come across. *edit Oh, on a side note, I did manage to figure out how to get through those small doorways. If I go prone as I'm walking up to the doorway, my toon will go half way in / out then I can continue. Before, I was walking right up to the doorway, stopping, then going prone. Doing such wasn't allowing me to go through it. Another bug; going down some of the stair wells. My toon will hit his head and get stuck. I have to crouch to continue. This is happening in the warehouse which has the chute on the side of it. Also got stuck in the small "tower" at one of the airfields. It's the small shack on stilts with 2 flights of stairs leading up. I managed to get up but when trying to come back down my toon got stuck on the landing and I couldn't get down the final flight of steps. It took a couple of minutes but I did finally manage to get out. It's almost as if the characters are just a touch bigger on this map. -

@Demon Please don't be offended by my previous post as I meant no ill intention. My apologizes if it came across wrong. It was late at night for me. I do agree that the little details do add to the immersion. I just meant at this point in time, adding the need for a can opener would be moot as there are more, bigger details which could be addressed. Although, I don't see why it couldn't be made so as a Toolbox is needed to open cans. Change the description on the toolbox to read as "Contains hardware necessary for constructing, deconstructing, repairing, and basic survival needs." Have it so as a toolbox is necessary to repair vehicles or remove parts from them; repair and keep weapons in working order (if weapons are made to slowly degrade with use); boil water from a well or pond and open canned food; repair cracked whiskey bottles (duct tape) so they could hold fuel and make them in to molotov cocktails. -

Reading comprehension is not one of your strong suits, is it? Maybe you putting down the video games and cracking open the school books would be more in order? Unfortunately, I don't have any crayons, so I can't draw any pictures for you in hopes of you better understanding. Instead I'll just have to quote my post in hopes that maybe the second time around you may be able to sound out some of the words and get an idea of what was stated. -

I don't see the can opener as adding any authenticity to the game. These days the vast majority of canned foods have pull-tab tops. And even if they didn't and an opener were necessary, if someone did want to add that much detail (needing a can opener) for the mod, then it'd only be right to be able to bust open the can with the hatchet or hunting knife. Or to be able to pick the apples off the trees in the orchards or drink water from the ponds without a canteen. And we can go on and on and on. It's a neat idea, but it just doesn't seem practical. Resources could be better spent on implementing better fixes / ideas. As in, if zombies are going to be made able to run indoors, then really them glitching through walls should be fixed first. Not to mention that closing a door should also be able to keep them out. -

Just ran in to a hacker on the server; Cousin Foosty. Included a screen shot. It was just me and wolfpack on the server, but he must have logged out not too long before. I was inside the hanger when at first the blue truck spawned right outside the hanger door, no engine noise, nothing, but I could see the driver in it. Then it disappeared but I heard the truck door make the closing sound, like someone was getting out. Then the truck reappeared inside the hanger. This all happened in a matter of, maybe, four seconds. Also, in the second picture, I came across a crash on the side of the mountain, but it was on an impossible slope. My toon couldn't walk up to it. He just kept sliding down and I didn't want to take the chance of coming in from above the chopper, sliding down, and possibly getting stuck. I don't know if there's anything which can be done, just throwing it out there as another possible bug. -

I did find that the only way to get in is to go up the steps, turn 90 degrees so you're staring at the doorjamb, and while pressing "A" hit "V" at the same time. And as soon as you hit "V" you have to quickly try turning just a touch towards the inside. Something definitely off between this and Lingor. But they look exactly the same on both maps. Does something have to be done to structures when adding them to a new map? -

Yeah. Kind of sucks. When it first went down I seen the name had changed from DayZChernarus to DayZUtes, so I assumed that the map was being loading on to the server. But stayed like that until a day or so later I noticed it was switched back to Chernarus but still wasn't online. And now it's back to Utes again, but still not up. >:( -

Well, I started playing on it today. The map is nice. I'm really liking it. The small bunkers are seriously screwed, though. No getting in the doorway, period. I've read about people having the same problem on Lingor, I've never come across a barrack which I couldn't enter, period, because of the doorway being too small. So don't run in one hoping to find a weapon. Because you'll run in and agro a bunch of zeds only to find out there's no guns in there and the zeds are blocking the only working exit. I came across 2 of the smaller, single door sheds which had guns in them, but couldn't get in to grab them. I also just came across the same problem with another building. It's the multiple story warehouse which has the slide/chute on the side of it. I could walk in the front doors, but couldn't get through the smaller door leading further inside. -

In all serious, that would be cool if it could be implemented against hackers & pirates. Like S.S. did with the scorpion. Just have a bunch of little Rockets running around and climbing on the jerks. -

Meh, why make DayZ in to just another military shooter? We already have ArmA 2. If you want protection in DayZ then it should be more along the lines of - football/motorcycle helmet instead of military - pots, pans, scrap metal instead of flak/kevlar The focus should be on what you can make in to protection and not what you can loot to have a military load out. -

Don't know which map you play on, but the one I do has forests full of ballistic shielding. On a serious note, I haven't checked it out but I thought there was a pirate mod for ArmA 2? -
When it comes to the "hardcore" crowd, I'd see them updating their gpu before buying a console just to play one game. Nope. Speaking for myself as one of the pc gamers, if I wanted DayZ to be available on a console so I could "interact" with the game, I'd want it on the 360 Kinect (keeping in mind I said to interact). I could see having to actually make the movements to remove my backpack to switch gear, having to gut an animal, etc, etc. A lot of those physical movement couldn't be made with a controller wand needing to always be pointing at a light bar. But, that being said, I'd drop $300 on a dev Rift before dropping $300+ on a console. Pc handles my gaming. Outside handles my physical activity.

If you were able to pump your blood up to 12000 with a single blood bag all by yourself, then beans and hunting would be completely moot. Why would people bother taking up precious, multiple inventory slots with food if the same end results could be had with a single bag. -

And really, that's fair and the mature approach to take. Sure, the forum lurkers know which weapons belong and which don't, but there's been, what, over 1,000,000 unique dayz players. It goes without saying that obviously, in general, people don't jump right on the forums and spend days following threads or researching every single aspect of a game. They become interested, purchase it, and jump right in to playing. So, in the case of DayZ, if they were to come across a hacked weapon on a corpse or in a tent, they're not going to know that it doesn't belong. They're going to snatch it right up. -
