Left Trigger ADS pleaseeeee!!

You're just a delusional fan boy. -
It takes a while to build a base, and while it is risky to loot for base raiding supplies, it still only takes a few minutes to get inside most bases. The best servers I have been playing on are the ones with NO base building and have a lore with places to explore and traps and such. You forget all about waste building.

Idea: What if bases would only load for online players?
THEGordonFreeman replied to Nicklander's topic in General Discussion
This is so on point. Farming in this game is a true tragedy. Another mechanic that should have been thought out more. It's too simple. There should be a lot more variation in the amount of food you get and if it is diseased or not, and there should literally only be a few packets of seed of each variety in the server economy at any given moment. But overall it does feel like farming simulator as it sits in vanilla at the moment. But let's be real, DayZ has it's roots in Arma, so the survival aspect of the game has always been an addon. The gunplay due to those roots in Arma is what people have always enjoyed. It feels real, weighty. That's what draws you in. People saying PvE is what make DayZ fun are kidding themselves. Other than the shooter aspect of this game everything else is just tacked on to make to get more people playing it and fodder for the PvP guys. Don't get me wrong, I still love it, but Christ Almighty, what I would not give for a competent company to put a true survival situation together. I am still hoping for Dead Matter to resurrect itself and be that game that does it right. -

Who says it's not? Reforger is out which is basically Arma 4 Lite. This is BI's "NEW" way to alpha/Early Access a game. They learned with DayZ you can't just let feature creep and all the other nasty development debacles keep your game in Development Hell. Now they just create a fake game to test all the features they plan to put in the real game and call it an evolution. If Reforger is ANY indication on what Arma 4 will be like, well, Arma 4 ain't looking all that great. BI seriously needs to revisit allowing AI to be offloaded elsewhere, like it was in Arma 3 early on. The only way to make servers waaaay more playable and have a living battlefield is to get that AI offloaded, or maybe even optimize the game to use the GPU better for AI. -

DayZ was completed in December of 2018, it had been in early access Alpha status for YEARS, then went Beta for 1 month in November of 2018, then went full release around December 18th 2018 so the Christmas Xbox money grab could occur. Base Building works as designed. Vehicles work as designed. Promises that the vehicle physics will be fixed have come and gone TWICE now. Supposedly for a 3rd time, we will have vehicle physics fixed by the end of this year. Considering BI's historical track record with "improving" features and mechanics in this game, I would not hold my breath. -
Idea: What if bases would only load for online players?
THEGordonFreeman replied to Nicklander's topic in General Discussion
Because a base is player built, every wall, door, nail, wood plank, barrel, tent, and all of those containers inventory items, is loaded to each player within 500m of that base. Another reason why Vehicles desync, and if said vehicle has 2 or 3 players in it when it hits that 500m bubble of the base... LOOK OUT. I use to be able to find ANY base in the woods by when you hit that bubble, it's still possible to do even today on busy servers. This engine was never designed correctly to handle bases and all the components it takes to build them. Base building, much like vehicle physics was on the back burner of figuring out how to make them work properly. They would have been better off just letting people board up existing structures instead of building new ones. In fact, I just found a community server where base building is just limited to securing existing buildings and using tents and such. And you can only "own" a couple of containers including tents and lean-to's per person in a 500m area. Which REALLY helps performance. Server had 50 on last night and I saw a couple of people driving vehicles. I later saw one of those vehicles bouncing in the air near Grishino. The DayZ Gods claimed more victims. This engine needs an enema so all the mechanics work properly on it. Never should have went Beta, never should have went full release one month later, until the underlying mechanics worked properly. -
A certain Fanboy on this forum will inevitably mock you for spittin facts. I wonder how much the rose colored glasses he received from BI actually cost. Couldn't been more than 10 cents given his proclivity of having his nose where the sun don't shine on BI's backside. I've been into BI's games since Flashpoint, but I won't be buying Reforger on Day One. I will only spend money on another BI title ONCE THEY FIX THE VEHICLES AND THE SERVER EXPLOITS IN DAYZ. And BTW, if that announcement on Twitter is ANY indication of the quality of Reforger, then BI is in for a rough go with the new game. Seriously, the marketing team needs it's own rework, that announcment was cringe to the Nth degree.

It was made optional because the PC community went ballistic. That is fact, documented here and on reddit. DayZ was never meant to be a Console game, if one used more than two brain cells, one would know that as well.

I want to resolve the issue about the ban
THEGordonFreeman replied to Maksuta228's topic in General Discussion
Oh False Positives do exist. I got a VAC ban on CS:GO years ago. After several months of emails, they finally realized my steam ID account was very similar to the one they were banning, steam ID's looking similar are also very weird. It was a mess, but knowing that you are guilty until proven innocent kept me pushing. I started to give up several times, but I finally got it resolved. I was pissed about it and just deleted CS:Go anyway, never thought about it again. -
Dayz was never designed with Consoles in mind. They did; however, rewrite the player controller to get that Console money. It's obvious it was basically a money grab. They also added "optional" directional hit effects for the console plebes. Instead of fixing vehicle physics or graphics loading or a myriad of other things.

Dayz's Flawed Foundations: Movement and Gunplay
THEGordonFreeman replied to lakevu's topic in Suggestions
sGunplay should be integrated directly into the game. -
Truer words have NEVER been spoken on Earth.... EVER.

Esseker would be a fun map if they had continued to develop it. The authors have abandoned it apparently. The files for the map itself are nowhere near complete and the setup is based on an old Chernarus map for loot and such. Whikle fun for a minute it has lots of problems that a good admin has to work on to get it back in shape. Could be a great map but it was left to rot apparently.

Mercury must be leaking in your water again.

Nice try. Sounds like someone on the forum has TWO accounts. Maybe the community manager and forum police would care to shadow ban both accounts as it is against the rules to have two accounts here.
-
And yet your vehicle can kill you at any time or a scripting child can ruin your base, your stuff or an entire server at their whim. It's amazing what the devs deem as critical "fixes" in the game.
-
Every cheater uses ESP. You can't stop it. But they can stop the major exploit that ruins servers (a security exploit that should have been taken care of years ago, I might add), but after the blowup from community servers, has it been fixed? NOPE! Cheaters are still ruining official and community servers.

Go talk to Battleye. Nobody can help you here. https://www.battleye.com/

So what you have is a disconnect in the community between those like myself that have been following DayZ since the mod, and those that bought in just a couple of years ago, after they cleaned house and stopped talking to the community. All of these late adopters of the game have NO CLUE of the travesty this title has taken over the years, and more importantly how it was just excreted from it's ONE MONTH Beta time to "GOLD" release. Game was in Alpha for what 6 years, Beta, one month and BOOM. Here is a history lesson for those that don't understand why long time fans of this game are pissed. The whole thread shows a community in disarray, MAINLY because this was a few months after the DEVS went silent.
-
It's called ESP, and whilea lot of games suffer from this, it's magnified in a game like DayZ. it is the worst possible cheat, and it's damn near impossible to detect unless you have an active admin watching suspected cheaters.
-
Well, if Blue Waffle announced today that they are closing and one reason was due to the exploit, I'll ask some of those directly involved and see if they have heard anything official.
-
More than a handful know about it, over 1600 signatures happened on the change.org petition to fix this major exploit. So yeah, I'd say, a great many are informed, and many server owners are pissed, and all I am asking for is a simple yes it's fixed, or not yet. I don't need details.
-
I'd like to hear an official word from BI. Just a yes or no that the exploit is fixed, because servers were still being held hostage as soon as two weeks ago.
-
BWAF, one of the largest Australian communities is shutting down. Several reasons for their decision but I find it interesting that yet again, they mention that the hacker exploit being one of those reasons. Since there was no mention of security fixes in the changelog, the rampant exploit any child can do to a server and has been reported to BI since 2018 will yet again not receive ANY attention in an update. Are you guys going to put me in timeout again because you don't like public posts critical of you? Instead of taking it out on a looooooong time BI customer who just wants to see things made right for players, you should spend more time fixing the issues that really tear this game up. Do better BI.

Again, my apologies. I am so used to disappointment by the developers that this did not even register. And like I said, I will reserve judgement on this issue once it is implemented. For now, it is a pipe dream with words. Words that have been spoken on more than one occasion by these guys so you will understand my skepticism that they are competent enough to actually resolve the issue. And NOTHING about the security exploit.
