    0.63 Experimental Release Check list

If you must have a "delayed" tag... how about "ON HOLD", "BACK BURNER", "SHELVED", "DEFER" or better yet, use nothing!

    0.63 Experimental Release Check list

That makes sense, but that got lost on the masses. If you take a look at this thread and the ones on reddit, it is painfully obvious it is confusing. I'll just leave it at that.

You're right... It's all me. I'll let you guys deal with it, sorry to try and and be helpful. Won't happen again.

And this is why POSTPONED is not necessary... thank you for proving my point. It confuses the issue.

    0.63 Experimental Release Check list

@Raptor (DayZ) I understand what you are saying. Based on your answer, I would revise my suggestion to just removing the POSTPONE tag altogether. You can leave something TODO, the POSTPONE tag is simply unnecessary. There's nothing in your list about BASE BUILDING or VEHICLES. In the Jan 30th Status Report, they said work on vehicles was happening again. Nothing in this list about Vehicles. My point is that POSTPONE causes confusion, why not remove it when there are missing things from this list anyway. if the purpose of the list is to showcase what is being worked on for an Experimental Release... showing postponed items is clearly confusing as they won't be in the release, and the list is missing items anyway. Other than that, I am so grateful you guys have done this. All I'm asking is that the list be clarified a bit, either put all the items on it, and use TODO, or leave the items off that won't be in a particular release and get rid of POSTPONE. Thanks RAPTOR for all you do!

    0.63 Experimental Release Check list

@Baty Alquawen @Martin (DayZ) I sense confusion here and on reddit about the use of the POSTPONE tag. I would suggest just dropping it completely, leave something IN PROGRESS or TODO. Just remove POSTPONE altogether. Also if it's TODO POSTPONED, why not just remove those as they won't be in the build anyway. My suggestion is ONLY have on the list what you want to add for whatever UPCOMING Experimental release you are working on. In other words, the only thing in your list is stuff that has been done (if you want) or stuff that will be in the next release you are working on. If something has to be cut to make another release happen, then just remove it. At this stage in the game, what will be available for testing in each Experimental Release is more beneficial than things in the list that won't be available for some time.

Angry typing guy doesn't see any progress.... does this surprise anyone? And what a dumb statement anyway. Thanks for contributing NOTHING, thanks for showing your ineptitude. I am THANKFUL AS ALL HELL for this. Finally! This is exactly what I and others have been asking for and now we can point others to this glorious check list. #INBETAWETRUST

    I miss my Dayz

I'd just like to say, I have never gotten bored because of a piece of software tech...... ever. There are many reasons to be bored in DayZ, but seriously, being involved with an active community of engaged players cures that boredom. I have been fortunate to have some of the best people play in our group. I don't brag on them near enough, but people in this group actually care about one another. My father passed away last year, and people from my group and several of our rival groups went in together and bought an amazing arrangement of flowers for my family and a care package for me. I know none of these people on a personal level, just from playing games with them, mainly DayZ. I am rarely, if ever bored. We constantly find ways to entertain ourselves in game and out of game. With all the glitching, the desync, the constant battles to try and not die from ladders or falling through rocks, DayZ is a harsh mistress, but the people in our group make it bearable and mostly fun.

    I miss my Dayz

I never stopped playing, besides, we are still having events on our servers... not as frequently, mind you. We are set to have a Civilian Gear event this Saturday Night. I am pumped about .63 coming soon, but even more pumped to pump some lead in some fools Saturday Night!

    Status Report - 27 February 2018

Oh how wrong you are sir. Look at the Steam Charts... every time a major patch has been released, many, many players returned. And like someone pointed out earlier, ARMA players, plus DayZ SA players, PLUS MOD players will be on this game like stink on stinky pie. When the game goes 1.0, I guarantee you more players than you will know what to do, and I'm sure it will dwindle down after awhile, but the core of DayZ, I'd guess around 100,000 (that number is probably too conservative) players will play for years and years. PLUS with all the mods that will be available. Communities will be looking for ways to differentiate themselves. Like I have always said, no one should worry about player numbers, THEY ALWAYS COME BACK.

@sneakydude Our group is planning a mod unlike anything anyone else will be doing. We have 2 really talented people who are programmers as well. All I can say is we plan to #MDSA Make DayZ Scary Again. Cheers!

In the end that is all that matters. I still firmly believe that the lessons BI learned and pioneered, in a way, should serve as a warning to other Game Developers about the danger of releasing into EA too soon. I think that is a fair summary of my point.

    Status Report - 13 February 2018

I honestly do not know why software developers put anything out on early access. I have played some really good games that just got shit on right before release, and their sales went to shit. I have also watched games burn and churn in EA until they were abandoned. I have never supported any game via Kickstarter, but I have friends who have and been burned...repeatedly. Look at the track record of the company that is building a game and just leave them alone. BI is known for producing amazing games and support those games for years. DayZ will be no different. After watching what has happened to DayZ and many other games, I firmly believe EA should only be used once a game hits or is about to hit BETA, and not sooner. Some would argue that fans can often spur the best suggestions on how a game should progress early on when decisions on tech and such are being made. Those cases are extremely rare and the risks far outweigh any gains. The laws of unintended consequences become more "in play" because you try to please a few loud voices. Fans do not understand the development cycle....AT ALL. Just read the comments on here or reddit and it becomes painfully obvious. Developers should stick to their plan and hype their game when it it's about to hit Beta and put it on EA. That's my .02 anyway.

@Baty Alquawen @RaptorM60 I have a question for a potential discussion ina status report or maybe a short answer here in the forum.... re: Network Code. In previous iterations all the way back to the mod, a 1000 meter network bubble was used for knowing what items players had in inventory and such. What is the current plan for Beta and 1.0? Are we still using the network bubble or what? Could we get some beginning details on how the network code has or has not changed? Desync and lag are so prevalent on Persistent servers with camps and such. And as a followup question.... Currently you can only see a player tent when you are within 300 meters I believe. What is the plan for that with Beta and 1.0?

    Status Report - 13 February 2018

Raptor May I make a suggestion to pass along. Why not take the list of things to be done for Beta and place that in every status report going forward with a line crossing out the items that are complete each time. It would really be beneficial so we know what's done, what's left to be done. Seeing progress in a list like that would really help the community in general.

    Status Report - 13 February 2018

I've had Miscreated for well over a year, I have 22 hours in it. I've had DayZ for almost 4 years, I have 3200 hours in it. I wish I could get my money back on Miscreated. It is nowhere near as good as DayZ and DayZ is no where near as clunky as Miscreated. Mind you, Miscreated is not a bad game, but it ain't DayZ either. It feels more like a failed arcade version of DayZ, like H1Z1. Their development has a ways to go like DayZ, and perhaps they can pull something together. Regarding this.... They have repeatedly said they had one guy keeping the console versions parity with the PC. I don't think that means what you think it means.

    Status Report - 30 January 2018

Programming is not like building a building where you have blueprints to follow. Generally, you start with a Design Document and it is by no means, a blueprint. It is a general guideline used to explain what it is you are trying to build. All the finer details are handled via SCRUM Sprints, whiteboarding, etc., basically boring meetings, but important boring meetings. Believe me, they know what has to be accomplished to reach the final goal, but the process is iterative, meaning, you do, you build, you see if it''s good, if it needs to be better, did it break something else, did it fail, etc, rinse and repeat. You cannot say this will be completed on March 3rd at 8: 03 AM EST. It doesn't work that way. They have told us repeatedly what the goals are, and NEWSFLASH! They haven't reached those goals. When they do, we will begin seeing the fruits of all of this labor.

5 months till the new update? Realy?

I agree DRM. They have laid down the law. We are getting DayZ Beta this year, all the naysayers have permission to hold their whining till December 31, 2018.

5 months till the new update? Realy?

^^^^^^^^^^ THIS!!!! ^^^^^^^^^ If only people would actually read and comprehend instead of interjecting their own feelings into what the devs have said so, so many times.

5 months till the new update? Realy?

For someone who has been a member of this forum long enough to have been following development for 4 years.... this quote above does show you have not comprehended much of it. What questions have not been answered... a thousand times buy the devs? Name them. Let's hear your questions.

5 months till the new update? Realy?

For all the "smart" people who incessantly post that they should release the game now that come here daily, would you please look at the sheer number of people before you that have been vomiting the same nonsense. And in all that time that people have cried publicly how crappy the game is and they should just release what they have and let modders fix it, have BI acquiesced to your demand? For short attention span PUBG folks.... NO! They have not. Do any of you realize how dumb those kinds of comments sound to those that actually have an understanding of programming? I am not a mechanic so I don't go to car forums and tell people how to fix cars, yet I drive daily. Just because you play games doesn't make you John Carmack... deal with disappointment, shit happens, things change, deadlines get moved. That is life in development. Obviously PUBG is not keeping your attention as you have time to come here and make dumb demands of developers who are doing what is best for the game. Get a life, go outside, jsut wait like the rest of us.
