  1. Ughn.. Fighting my OCD... Those are mags, not clips!!!
  2. I would agree with these sentiments with the caveat that very few trucks should spawn with fuel in their tanks. It would make sense to me that most of the trucks would either have been driven until they're out of diesel or siphoned dry.

    Unconscious respawn delay

Why would you want them not to respawn?

Can we agree this is feesable?

So, just to recap, in this thread we've gone from cutting corrugated iron with a hacksaw (the 'dangerous nightmare') to creating ampho bombs and molotovs. Ok? Ok. Just making sure I was keeping up.

You're wrong because thatch is the only sensible material with which to construct your post apocalypse shelter. You obviously haven't been following the thread. Throw common sense out the window and get on the thatch train, man.

Ok man, you must be right. Thatch it is.

I speak from experience. If you concentrate on what you are doing it isn't really dangerous at all. Tedious and tiring but not really dangerous. Especially when you consider the setting. Hypothermia, disease, starvation, infected zombie-like humans, homicidal cannibal bandits.. But careful with the hacksaw and the rusty metal.

Dude, come on. I'm not trying to run down your idea but "a dangerous nightmare" is hyperbolic to say the very least.

Thatching is a difficult, time consuming process. Why not use corrugated iron or plastic?

I don't think that shelter would be appropriate for Chernarus tbh. Looks like more of a tropical island type affair. Note the dried leaves/grass that has been used for the walls and roof. I think maybe a more suitable shelter might be constructed from wood/corrugated iron or similar materials. The roof on that hut would collect water! I'd like to see tarpaulin sheets available to use with rope/sticks/rocks to easily make small 1-2 man shelters. Something like this http://www.survivalworld.com/shelters/tarps.html#.Vc5Sj5K9KK0

    so much for the struggle

I wasn't really referring to anyone specifically but cheers for the rant. I also I didn't say that cheating or exploiting are valid play styles. I thought that would be a given.

    so much for the struggle

Private servers really are the solution for all the server hopper complaints. Is there a reason why all you folks don't play in them? All play styles are legitimate. Server hopping might be cheap but it's still legitimate and private servers are readily available to offer a server hopping/ghosting safe haven. Complaining because someone shot you is a tad redundant. This is the apocalypse. Nice people are very few and far between and it's futile to try to impose some form of moral code on other players. If you want to avoid the nastier element of this game, stay in the boonies and don't covet military gear. It's pretty much that simple.

It's weird because it's almost like you were doing the exact same thing that you seem to be complaining about.

    A discussion on player mobility

Quick question - I notice a lot of people making statements like this one. Where are you getting this information? Was there a dev post outlining a planned reduction in spawned foods?

    Clans treating DayZ like ARMA?

It's an intriguing discussion which polarizes opinion. It's been said a million times before but In my humble opinion there is no right or wrong way to play a sandbox game like dayz. If you like playing the survival aspect of the game, get yourself out into the boonies ASAP. You can find all you need to survive comfortably in tiny towns and villages where you're unlikely to ever come across a group of armed militia assholes. Avoid larger towns / cities, especially those on the coast and obviously avoid military installations. It's relatively simple and probably quite realistic in some ways. If, knowing this, you still decide to try to loot Elektro/Cherno/NW etc etc then it's on you. No room for complaints.

    DayZ is peaceful

Hello fellow survivors! I'm not exactly new to this game but I'm new to the forums so I thought I'd post. I've been playing for about 10 months, much of the time solo but with a few friends and acquaintances too. Love the game but it's definitely more fun with other people! I'm always looking to meet other folks, new or experienced. If you're up for it, send me a pm! Cheers and good luck out there!
  18. I'm currently playing 3pp exp and it seems like some servers have piles of gear and some have none. Not even shoes, chemlights, gas lamps.. anything. I'm running through the middle of the map too. Is this a result of persistence/loot spawning?
  19. Awesome! I called it :D Awesome! I called it :D You should know that after our brief chat your mic was left open. I could hear you mouth breathing for a couple of mins :P
  20. Hey! Weird, but did I happen to run into you at the green two storey in Kamyshovo a couple of hours ago? I asked if you were friendly, you asked if there was any food, and I left a banana and an orange for you in the ground floor kitchen. It sounds like a ridiculous long shot but I think it was you :P. If not, c'est la vie :) This experimental patch is extremely playable for me. The movement bug seems entirely nonexistent and there's just enough provisions to get by. I like it!

    How was your Day(Z)?

My dayz began with me heading into Elektro in search of some better clothes. My character is 4 or 5 days old. Pretty well geared, loads of ammo, sidearm, food, equipment etc. The clothes I found are now ruined by zombie attacks and I'm getting cold fast. I came in from the north-west hills, moving between cover looking for a good place to see the town. About 600m out I look through my scope And I see a freshie looking guy fighting zombies with a cutting axe by the Firestation. Scanning from west to east I see another guy walking on the short hill. Suddenly there are shots from around the hospital. It sounds like an akm. It spooks the guy on the hill and he heads down towards the town houses at the foot of the hill. I sweep the main street by the church back to the Firestation when I see a guy in his underwear. He seems to be teleporting at insane speeds headed straight for me... I promptly die. This is the second time in a week that I've had a decently well geared guy that I've put a few hours into, die to a cheat. As the developers make it harder to find nice loot and make more specific loot almost a requirement to function - like waterproof/warm clothes - getting geared takes significantly longer. As a result losing a character is significantly more aggravating, especially when it's to a cheat. If this happens again soon, I'll likely take a break from dayz and I'm sure I won't be alone. I really hope the developers address this issue. It worries me a bit that the 'how is bad is the hacking in dayz?' thread was closed. A pretty shitty dayz by all accounts.

    How was your Day(Z)?

Hello! My DayZ day was pretty good! I got pretty well geared up on a run down the Western corridor running south through Vybor - Pushtoshka, Sosnovka, Zelenogorsk then cut south east across country to avoid Balota and Cherno. I ended up safely in Elektro. Tomorrow I'll head up the east coast in an effort to find some remnants of the human race that don't want to kill the shit out of me. My hopes aren't high. I love this game but damn it's getting lonely surviving by myself :*( I cried into my beans before I logged off.
