Truck noise makes me want to KILL

What a great and meaningful thread this is. I shoot at moving trucks just to give my Lead Angle Sensor and Line Of Sight System a work out  Have some Beans OP :beans:

As soon as I step it freezes!

I have a pretty good computer with a 6 core processor ((3.5 Ghz)), 16 gigs of ram, a fine graphics card and a 1 TB hard drive. DayZ Locks up all the time especially when I am moving (running) but its pretty random.however when it happens there just happens to be a hell of a lot of HDD activity When the HDD activity settles down the game continues normally except you will have moved quite a distance in the direction you were going prior to the lock up (and yes my HDD is defraged).. It has been suggested that DayZ is not optimized for multi core processors. Perhaps installing DayZ on a 256 gig SSD is the ticket. Or perhaps I should do nothing since the problem is an irritation and not a killer. Then again it may be a network problem WTFK (????????) SSD performance boost http://dayzintel.com/dayz-guides/dayz-standalone-performance-guide#ssd
  3. I would imagine that Chernarus has its share of Eurasian wolves and plenty of wild dogs. Those critters are active at night and are really more interested in what you are packing than you. A pack full of deer steaks would be a temptation that a pack of starving wild dogs might not be able to resist. The wolves however could very well be after you more often than not. I if you are alone fighting off a six pack of wolves or wild dogs could quite easily punch your ticket back to the coast and a bear attack might also be centered on your food but one swat from a 400 to 800 pound Eurasian brown bear and you will be broken or knocked out and be on your way back to the coast in short order. I am sure we will see wolves and bears soon. And it comes to mind that wild hogs can be aggressive and knock you on your ass when surprised or molested More Zombies, Aggressive, wolves, wild dogs Bears, and wild hogs should provide plenty of stimulation I'm looking forward to their arrival.
  4. Have some beans :beans: I like a guy hat sticks to his guns hombre. But I do want more Zombies. The respondents to this meaningless thread have been for the most part positive and some have been downright informative. However with that said I think we all understand that the state of the game is constantly changing for the better. Just a few minutes ago checked out Solnichniv and found a good number of reasonably aggressive Zombies to kill. They make such good Model 70 targets from a distance that I can't resist their face planting charms. Now that's what I call a well crafted and informative post! Thanks for sharing that info bro  . I am sure the Devs will stop the Zombies from taking a bigger bite out of server resources than they deserve bro. Have some beans :beans: (I wish I could offer a pristine can of peaces but beans will have to do) Note: Its going to be swell when Zombies have the ability to infect players if they draw blood from that player. A world where a run of Tetracycline and Antiseptics is all that stands between you and the grave.is bound to be more interesting. It would also be nice to have some metal canteens that can be put directly on a fire or stove to boil water so that you can kill off whatever diseases might be swimming around in pond water.
  5. And pointless commentary it seems. grunt..frap...plop!!!
  6. Ever since the latest patch there has been a shortage of Zombies in villages and small towns and adjacent areas. I know they intended to redistribute Zombies and put the bulk of them in larger cities and towns but these days It can get mighty boring traveling in the outer areas. IMHO Every Village and Town on the entire map should be infested with Zombies to keep things interesting and bring on those wild dogs and bears as well.
  7. Right now I have a mod 70 with a scope, an MP5 with an ACOG and a .45 I am completely happy with the mix
  8. To even approach me with a weapon drawn will get you a bullet to the brain
  9. I remember one time at the old NE AF when I was a new player and the NE AF was a shooting gallery I ran into a good guy that hooked me up with a UK vest full of chow and gave me twenty 00 shotgun shells for my sawed off. I gave him a can opener that he wanted (I had a knife) . It was a good session because after the trading was done we got shot at from the tree line to the west and he told me to flank them from the right while he kept their heads down with his M4 and moved closer. I ran up on the two jerks and blasted one down and my benefactor nailed the other with a head shot almost simultaneously. We looted their corpses and parted company
  10. I like that fact that people are thinking this way but greed and lust on the part of some players for the gear that others have acquired is a powerful incentive to KoS and loot your corpse. The other day I entered a house with blue trim (a food house) to search for some canned goods and a clown with a hockey stick and a helmet tried to bash me I dusted him with a shotgun. The dude had nothing to lose by attacking me except a character that was probably less than an hour old he wanted a shortcut. The cure, automatically rendering all of a players gear that was killed by another player into a ruined status (unless head shot) removes the incentive to kill for gain. But then there are the clowns that KoS for sport not gain and those folks are incurable IMHO. But KoS is a part of the game and in a real Post Apoc world there would be plenty of that action because of the character of true human nature. Just as in real life trying to force people into a cooperative mode is a waste of time.

    ok So, Cholera.

I don't recall crouching but groaning did occur and the action is outside your control as is vomiting. But I agree in that case you should shit your pants (and damage your trousers) and be inactive for a few seconds at least. This guys experience is just about standard I think

    ok So, Cholera.

I cured myself from what I assumed to be dysentery by drinking plenty of good water eating and taking antibiotics I had to stay close to a pump to stay hydrated and every time I succumbed to the diarrhea I had to rehydrate eat and take more antibiotics. It took awhile but I survived. The first time I died from the disease. if you drink too much you will vomit and the drugs and chow are wasted.

You're probably right BleedoutBill. I am sure the fixes as always come quickly and of course true balance can not be achieved until the entire game mechanism is in place and functioning. That's the last stage before release I think. I had a good time a few hours ago at the NW AF (killed 8 zeds and evaded a team of three players bent on my destruction). And hey I actually found a SVD magazine for when I find one of those rifles. Until then it will be the model70+hunting scope and the FNX45 with one magazine The longhorn and I couldn't resist picking up an AK74SU and making space for it in my high cap vest. I'm up on ammo but no mag for the AK74Su yet but it works well as a single shot for.now. And the helicopters are spawning gear again so that's good. And hey, I got a stout chair jumper when I got close to a zombie that appeared to be dead but he was a crawler (Military) first time I saw one of those critters...cool beans. Two hits with the ax settled its account.

Patch 0.57 has some good things and some very bad things. I'll talk about the bad, The game for me has become boring. It is now too easy to get fully geared up and it was easy before plus in remote small villages there are few Zeds infesting the areas (if there are any at all). Even a town like Lapontino that one had a significant number of fast re-spawning Zeds there are very few (I searched the whole town and found only two zeds to kill) Hopefully the Zed population will rise again in the villages farm compounds and remote spaces. I like the hay seed farmer Zombie with the hat and the half naked old man zombie but I haven't seen those in awhile now. To get some excitement I guess I'll have to start to KoS other players that are armed again for sport until the Zeds return in force.

Why does this happen every single time?

Hell I would have shot the SOB too Bro. The problem with private servers is that there always seems to be a central clique. Crowded public servers can be good because you have the freedom to do as you please and there is nothing wrong with some PVP or even some KoS For killing the freak in the dress have some Beans :beans:

Why does this happen every single time?

I Think that's true but they are also hangouts for ass wipes that imagine themselves to be slayers and further imagine that the new-spawns and semi geared up players that are mostly new as well are dangerous so in that way they can suck their own dicks congratulating themselves on their awesome combat skills. But I have also met some good people on public servers I helped a cool new-spawn run around and and get geared up just I was helped once by a damn good player when I was new. Unfortunately those instances of civil behavior seem to be getting less frequent Have some beans :beans: .
  18. I agree and I might add that from a cost effectiveness standpoint DayZ has been a hell of a bargain for 30 skins. the unique features of the game even in its unfinished state have caused me to see other games as simplistic garbage. Hell, the game can be without mercy. My fully equipped character that has thrived since the last wipe was a survivor many gunfights and Zed attacks. The Char succumbed to Dysentery (I guess) The doom laden message "I feel my Bowels rumbling" and rapid dehydration was a miserable experience but also a great one. Running all over the map looking for antibiotics, water purification tablets and wells while avoiding potentially unsafe water sources as the screen slowly faded to gray and finally black and the "you are unconscious" message was awesome. I like the game a great deal. And it has come a long way in a very short time. have some beans Beize :beans:

5.56 Bolt action rifle (Remington 700)

I think a quick solution would be to have a CR527 in .223 (5.56) call it the CR527A or whatever and allow a detachable scope like the one on the Longhorn on both weapons simple commercial guns. But I'll still gravitate to any of the assault rifles as a primary weapon over a small caliber bolt gun.

    Resenting DayZ

BigBadChuck Perhaps the complaining authority should make a more serious effort to get equipped. The fact that in the beginning it takes a little time and involves using your noodle to avoid players and Zombies should make the experience the most enjoyable part of the game. When you don't have jack shit you can do as you please. After the last wipe it took me a few sessions to acquire a Steyr AUG, a sawed off shotgun, a 1911, and a Longhorn, sufficient ammunition for all, some good threads, a hunting backpack and lots of other survival accouterments. Sure sometimes you come up empty on a 90 min run on a decent server and sometimes you hit a bonanza. The occasional milk run for naught is actually what makes it fun. Without a bad time you cant recognize a good time. Now with the possibility of getting a truck the gearing up is even easier and faster. LIke you I see no reason for crocodile tears.

    Using Online Map Cheating?

I don't consider checking the map on occasion especially after changes and upgrades to be cheating in any way. At this point I remember how to get around the map and navigate from place to place remarkably well without using a map like most players that have been around for awhile. But I do love and rely on the compass and that isn't cheating either. Have some Beans :beans:
  22. I agree and if I am not mistaken optimization for various processors is one of the last things that will be accomplished.....as with any other game.
  23. I have an AMD FX9 6300 six core processor running at 3.5ghz with 16GB of RAM and an excellent Radion graphics card and I have never had a problem with any game.
  24. Somehow my character has been glitched into shaking 100% of the time. Situation: I was exploring the little Fishing town of Berezhki on the east end of the map and looking for netting and burlap to make a Ghillie suit. Mission accomplished. On the way back west it was near dark and it started raining. Despite the fact that I was running and had allowed myself to de-hydrate a bit to build up some body heat I ended up shaking. I went into a barn and built a fire, wrung out all my clothing. Shortly I. stopped shaking but didn't move further from the fire until I was and no longer soaked or damp.. I then re hydrated but the instant I was up to a dark green hydration level I started shaking again. So I figured I might have a hidden bone injury or something. In the course of the next hour I: •made splints and applied them to no good effect, •injected morphine to no good effect, •ate some charcoal tablets to no good effect, •took some Antibiotics to no good effect. And no I haven't eaten any human meat. Unless someone has another suggestion the next time I log on I'll go onto a reliable persistent server stash my gear clothes and all and jump off a building and then haul ass back to my gear. I don't know what else to do. ANY SUGGESTIONS?
  25. At no time did I ever get a message saying I was cold but the shaking was nasty But, Your method worked!!.Full hydration, 15 minutes of warming by a fire, the consumption of three hot deer stakes by the fire and slowly the shaking subsided and disappeared. I will also snag a Gorka Jacket, drink from ponds and streams only when necessary. Thanks again and have some more beans :beans:
