I used to play Fallout3, NV, and Skyrim but they are all so boring and linear compared to DayZ and eventually the adolescent mod community started creating crap like this We don't need that silly stuff in DayZ. In any case have some beans....

Yes pilgrim Males and Females really do have some structural differences. The sexist part is where dweebs think that in order for a woman to have a chance at survival she must look manly.

    I understand your irritation. It would take a competent 3D model builder about a day to modify a dozen general (sexless) models and give them feminine geometry and appearance. The three that you posted look like the East German 'its' of the 80s that were rightly denied the opportunity to compete in the Women's Olympics because they were packing X,Y chromosomes. Exorade, "Don't know, maybe it's just me, but they look like the type that survive." Its impossible to tell from general appearance who the survivors would be as there is nothing that says that stone faced manish women are better suited to survive than women that are by nature feminine in appearance. Given a healthy body the ability to survive is for the most part all in the head. .

  6. Yes I know I've done that a number of times from a distance (the corpse is a honey pot). But if you intend to carry out a vendetta on other servers against the dude you'll need a player name just hit P and read down the list (as you know). If he is there just go to where you killed him before these clowns have their favorite haunts. But its a long shot that you'll find and nail the right guy and you wont know until after the subject has been 'pokerized'. But I have been successful a couple of times in taking it to other servers. Usually when I whack a bandit I just hide the corpse to make sure he won't recover anything if he makes it back in 10min and let it go at that. like you I like the survival and zombie aspects of the game more than wasteful PvP crap. Perhaps when zombies become a real threat the PvP action will slack off.

    Good Video! I tossed my fishing gear because every time I have tried to fish I get shot at but that's OK because it has given me the chance to kill the scum that won't let a man fish in peace. When you went out on that dock to fish I was expecting to hear someone take a shot at you. Quite often fishing holes have become something like a honey-pot that scum suckers stake out in the hope of getting an easy kill. Its a good thing that most of those pud-knockers can't shoot for shit. By the way, that was some fine Running & Gunning you did Snaftii. I always enjoy seeing a pack of bandits get what's coming to them. However I think it's always a good idea to hide the body if there is any chance that the little snake might be able to get back to his corpse after they re-spawn in time and salvage some of their gear. (and that is why I don't want to see persistent storage enter the game)

    I have witnessed first hand dishonest fools not checking (there are plenty of those around). They want to be fast so half the time its " take gun into hands"----->"spacebar"----->click click click". At that point they get shot to pieces. If they hadn't played it so stupid they would have gotten a full magazine, a box of ammo and a couple of fine Rasputin Kvass(s) to suck on AND strict instructions to stay put and keep their hands off the magazine ammo and Kvass while I get out of range. Hell I had a fully geared player surprise me at the top of a stairway (he had me) but he went click click click with his SKS and I went BopBopBopBop with my M4A1....if not for his stupidity I'd have lost all my gear and been on the coast looking for a pipe wrench and a jacket. It taught me 2 good lessons Don't round blind corners with your head up your arse and Don't play When you are dog tired.

    The Troubling Issue of Magazines

    I think things are fine the way they are. But an empty magazine or one with a few rounds in it in an abandoned military weapon is not a bad idea. 7.62 x 39mm Ammunition should be no more rare than it is now, after all the Former Warsaw Pack countries and Soviets made and are still making billions and billions of those rounds. In most conflict areas ammunition laying around untended is the rule and not the exception. In fact its quite a job to collect significant amounts of it and get rid of it. Which brings to mind the fact that some (25%?) of the ammunition you find should be ruined or damaged. Note: As a beginning player I once found an amphibian and a 1911 pistol but no magazines. I single loaded those pistols and managed to survive until i found a few magazines for the pistols and an SKS. The rarity of 10rnd strip clips for the SKS is a pain in the ass and unrealistic those should be very common. Note: it is strange but 10 and 30 round magazines for the 10/22 are (were?) all over the place in the NW Airfield (obviously the wrong place for them to be.)

    Not bad but you're lucky he didn't shoot you in the back the first chance he got. Since you make videos ,make one of a 'humanity check' Help out a poorly geared player by giving the guy a pistol (an unloaded pistol) the chances are he will try to turn the gun on you immediately to bag your gear. Then you can give him a speech about honesty humanity and right and wrong and then blast his pins out from underneath him, cuff him, bandage him up, saline bag him if needed, and then leave him for the Zeds.

    The ones proposing this lame idea would be the ones whining about it the most if it were implemented. But in truth it wouldn't be a game stopper for me as I always keep a couple of 40 round magazines in my vest and one in the rifle so I would have to go through 120 rounds to even need to replenish from my pack and protector cases or ammo can. and then who doesn't save a few slots for 20 or 30 round ammo stacks of loose rounds to top off your magazines in your jacket vest and trousers? And in most of the fire fights I have been in I seldom have fired more than twenty or thirty rounds. That's the magic of the T button for the M4A1. Rapid aimed semi automatic fire is the ticket The bottom line is that Game changes should have a purpose and this one doesn't.

    its not just you that's for sure. 20 hits sounds about right (or wrong). The bat is almost as weak as a punch I think. I think the fire extinguisher is good and just one step behind the spliting axe and a bit more behind the Fire Axe but it is slow. The pipe wrench, crowbar and all the farm implements are in a word weak. Be nice to have some sap gloves to deliver 2x damage over a naked fist. I have however gotten some one hit kills with an M91 bayonet to the head (Pokerized) but normally it takes two, three and sometimes four stabs to the head with a bayonet to drop a zed.

    Another and much less problematic approach would be to impose a 'death tax' on the deceased player and draw the payment from the unfortunate hombre's cache if he has one. So when the hombre makes it back to his cache he would find that it is intact or it isn't. "Anyway, I also thought about the "denying the cache to the former owner"" .......................this function could be bypassed pretty easily if you have friends. They'd simply take the stuff you want out of the tent and give them to you. That would be easy to prevent and it is another reason for the rapid destruction of the entire cache within a few minutes. Piss ants that search for loopholes and exploits will always be around but stopping them is pretty easy. For a lot of reasons perhaps persistent storage is a bad idea unless it is of a very, very limited nature So we are back to 5 min of cache looting by the deceased's enemies before it is gone forever. And what about the dumbest thing I have ever seen in the MOD (w epoch). Buying a 700 pound safe sticking it in your inventory and then packing it to where you want to place it..absurd.

    I see your point but I was figuring that once the cache owner is dead like if you caught some guy digging up his stash and greased him you could loot the cache for 30 minutes or some other specified period of time. So I agree there should be some persistence even if the owner gets killed. Perhaps there is a way of denying the cache to the former owner like a change of ownership. It would require some thought but I am sure something could be worked out to as you said, "prevent people from simply running to their hidden base from the spawn and immidietly be geared to the teeth."

    If you die you should lose all your gear even the stuff in your cache. Any other way and DayZ descends to just another game for sweet peas. The fact that the Game designers decided not to be game show hosts that give away an ass load of freebies is a unique attribute of this game and a good thing. I wouldn't be against the player spawning with a good heavy knife and a bottle of water and a small ass pack but that's it.

    I think the items you cache at your secret location should carry over if you are robbed or just need to replenish but NOT if you are killed. If you get killed you should end up on the coast with NOTHING but a flashlight and the clothes on your back. There is NO sense in removing a primary fear of in game death that adds so much to the game. As far as your 'base' is concerned it should just be a hole in the ground where you can bury and camouflage your extra gear in a crate you would have to craft. The rate should have room for: 1 rifle, 1 ammo can, 2 protector cases, 1 fully loaded Mountain or smaller back pack. and 10 free slots for oddment Note: A compact 4 x 4 folding e-tool that when unfolded can double as an effective melee weapon would a nice addition.
  18. Your Marklars are wise and true!! Have some beans!!! I also play exclusively on 1st person servers. I worry about other things such as it would be nice to have an illuminated reticle for the PSO scope like the real item has.

    My First AKM!

    In the game I carry both weapons and my AK is 100% stock except for the PSO scope that I couldn't resist putting on. My M4A1 is tricked out but of late it spends almost 100% of its time on my shoulder because of ammunition availability. I have plenty of ammo and mags for both at the moment but I haven't seen a chopper for quite awhile (the chopper loot spawns are broken I think) so for me conservation of 5.56 is the key. I've buried four assholes that engaged me on sight with my AK and I am quite pleased with the results. However packing two rifles is a pain in the ass from a practical standpoint. Too bad we can't make caches yet :( .

    I agree 100% I'll take an M4 or M16 over an AK any day of the week in a real situation. When you consider that a military grade M4A1 or M16A2 has an accuracy of 1.5 to 2 minutes of angle that tells me that my weapon can print a group that is 7.5 to 10 inches at 500 meters and hold a 10.5" to 14" group at 700yards and with M855A1 or SS-109 ammunition penetrate a Kevlar helmet at that range. Another bad thing about the AK/AKM is the 7.62 x 39 is essentially a ballistic turkey and uses corrosive primers that will eat a gun alive if it isn't cleaned ASAP after firing just a few rounds. Here, mess with this ballistics calculator http://www.hornady.com/ballistics-resource/ballistics-calculator Note bullet input data.: The 123 grain 7.62 x 39 bullet has a Ballistic coefficient of .266 and a MV of 2300fps The 62 grain 5.56 x 45mm SS109 bullet has a Ballistic coefficient of .340 and a MV of 3070fps for the M16A2 and 2950fps for the M4A1 Yes I'll choose the M16A1 or M4A1 with or without optical sights over an AKM every time.

    Check the three barracks buildings at little Military Base 1300 meters due south of the South West corner of the North West Airfield HINT: DON'T FORGET TO LOOK UNDER THE BEDS. grab the weapon and then get gone as the area is getting popular.

    Even if you were a Pashtun gunsmith from Darah Pakistan who are known to do a lot of hand operations you would still need a considerable array of hand and power tools to produce good weapons. The AK/AKM is reliable because all through the weapon the tolerances are very LOOSE and the weapon is of simple construction. Unfortunately these loose tolerances or 'Mechanical slop' causes AK pattern weapons to be quite inaccurate compared to western weapons. A six inch group at 100 yards is pretty solid performance for a well made AKM. However putting a scope like the PSO on an AK is a bit like putting a 44DD bra on a babe that wears a 34A bra. The weapon is essentially the medium range gun that Kalashnikov intended it to be. Note: in real life the AK's dispersion pattern is about 30" at 500yards which isn't so good compared to western assault weapons that print 10" groups at that range. The In game performance of the AK is enhanced by an error that causes the weapon to have zero dispersion. They need to fix that. .

    I am not aware of any magic techniques. But I can tell you that after you've knocked one down keep punching until the slime bucket expires. But remember, one crack in the head from a fire extinguisher delivers several times as much damage as a punch in the chops. But I will give you a sort of magic technique. Get a few zombies to chase you and lead them over the edge of a steep incline at a full run. You will slow down and perhaps slide a bit but the zombies will skate past you at full speed and do a gratifying face plant into the dirt and die instantly. It is hilarious :D .

    Thanks for the beans man and like you nothing gives me greater pleasure that hosing down these so called bandits. Along with the bandits some of the clowns that imagine themselves to be 'hero players' or Law Givers can be as big a pain in the ass as bandits. I have greased a couple of those guys when they tried to exercise their 'authority' over me. I am sure you would do the same thing because you never know, the Law Giver rap might just be bandit camouflage. And I would rather take at least one down with me if they want to play the Ranger Rick game with me. I tend to stay away from other players. I just saw this Youtube vid its hilarious.
