Maybe you're right. but 10 years after the apocalypse as i'm somewhat certain the timeline is supposed to be, I think people would be defending their territories pretty heavily. See someone you don't know: threat to life food & territories infection spreading. + fear, +animalism +starvation... sadism and psychoses aside, i'd expect it to be very dog eat dog, definitely not utopian as some may expect.

SKS magazine: 10round 1 slot SKS box/stack: 20round 1 slot sks magazine loses, as it is half as efficient at storage capacity. M4 60round mag used to be useful for condensing 30round stacks into 1x60round stacks, but not sure if this can still be done and haven't held an M4 for a few weeks. I'd also like to see it take a little longer to reload from single loads, and it should take an extra second to cock the weapon once loaded dry. Also, not sure, but can you conserve the chambered round when reloading? ie: AKM 30 round fire 29 - last round chambered reload fresh 30 round do i have 30 or 31 in capacity, in the game, or does it just rip the chambered round out magically and bring me back to a round 30? Not safe practice, i know, but it should speed up reload time and allow me an extra shot. I still support a keystroke magazine reload process, as it *should* be an unconsious effort to get to your mag and put it in. You shouldn't be digging down to the bottom of your bag to fish it out and clip it in. Loading rounds in without mag in the case of SKS and Mosin, and chambering the weapon should still be drag and drop imo... BUT: although the game doesn't really put too much emphasis on organisation of pack (other than there is a moderate advantage to keeping your ammo in the upper part of your gear close to access of magazines and the appropriate weapon if you've got a large backpack and 'full' inventory slots to allow for swift loading of magazine/weapon, but if you wanted to restrict the keystroke reload usage, maybe have dedicated magazine slots in tac vest etc that aren't compatable with other item types, and can only be R reloaded from here? just a thought. -

Never seen a longhorn or the new SMG + lever rifle. seen a press vest 2ce seen the scope that's similar to Acog only it's got the cumbersome dials on top and left side 1ce. -
Easy A: he who is killed by snipers is bad at life and isn't worth the pinch of lead in his lung. In the absence of a meme: I don't always hit people sniping but when i do they're standing still. I hole up mostly in places where people are going to come to stop, not travelling through. Though i have hit a few runners out in Westside fields. The amount of people is see climbing ATC roof or Firehouse roof in places like Balota etc is ridiculous, or stopping to look for/pickup loot in Hangars in NW. if you see shineys, be like the crow: swoop in and pick it up (running with TAB open helps and hoover up the items as you run over them). If you're checking your reflection in that P1 magazine you're either toast in the first 2 shots or you're probably on your way - albeit slightly frazzled at my failure to hit you. organising your loot at the item (rearranging to allow for slots to accomodate new loot) checking your compass in hand reading maps otherwise standing in dangerous (frequented/loot heavy) or open areas: you're asking for a bullet and deserve a swift death.

i'd say that using a feature that's been button-bound into the software, alongside having a solid position to snipe you from (presumably with skill otherwise you'd be better able to kill the man) doesn't a glitcher/questionable player make. Dripping with sarcasm and what not, i get how the last post may have been strange. Duping is a straight up exploitation (or is it? tribes incorporated a bug/exploit into gameplay) but pressing your enter key gets you 3pp. If you want no3pp play hardcore and enjoy. Yes hardcore is a lot more fun but smaller server range etc... I always justified 3pp as pocket mirror, but it took imagination. just the same as the time it takes for me to get my main weapon. I like to imagine the character bumbling to untangle himself from the rifle strap while he gets shot by the assailant in berez. I don't think these features really need a graphic for them all. Imagination and exploring the alpha is where we're up to atm.

I know. Legitimate players are hard to find. Back in WW1, people were found 'duping' these: These were a sure fire sign that someone was hacking. If you saw his little mirror glitching up out of trenches, you know that he wasn't just standing up and shooting at you like the rest of the brave souls. This man was exploiting an advantage! This man was a coward! Observing you from behind cover, through a means which you did not have! the nerve of some people! Look! here's a screenshot i took IRL of one of these bastards. Look at his callous disregard for the enjoyment of other players, exploiting like this... How dare he press his enter key! I bet his mates are having a good laugh at that fellow downrange. Bet theyr'e even talking over 3p VOIP programs too! Obviously the mods didn't care, look at this ultrahacked monstrosity! He can now fire from cover without even needing to step out of his tent! More worringly, we've got reports that there are now unmanned machines of death patrolling certain regions. Botters? IRL? How did they hack the source code? lots of thrown around words of realism and IRL in this thread. Makes me lel. The zebra doesn't complain that the lion has teeth. You don't see the diggers getting up out of their graves and crying about 'so and so had the one up on me'. if we're getting to the IRL argument, death happens. Complain or not, you're worm food and i'm going to take your shit however I want/can take it. Your tears will strengthen me until the Zombpocalipse arrives. But then Katana's already pegged this thread as troll or C1800s thread. TLDR: Cool pictures, Thread is lulz, people who make comments above quoted aren't addressing issue of snipers vs cowardice, they're complaining and upset that a player has an advantage over them.

yup. My bet is it's like the M4 sound glitch where it would go brapbrapbrap but only fire one round and the other 2 anim/noises were just your gun ghosting the first shot. Haven't experienced yet, but +1 here.

because pig is unicorn. minimum for me is : start with shirt > rags 1x slot fire axe / splitting 0x slot on body rice 2x slot water canteen 2x slot matches 1x slot knife 2xslot optional weapon + ammo 0xslot on body + 1x / ammo optional navigational tools 8slots less 2 if knife is combat knife stored in boots. that should leave you with ~4 for ammo or meat or stuff without a backpack. -
every time someone posts a 'why dayz is lacking x thread' in general, a zombie screams throughout chernarus.

You'll need to use the search engine for prim source, there are multiple of these threads and there was a dev release, but that may have been on twitter feed... but i'm pretty sure that devs said it's mostly due to animals ie: pig goat rabbit using a similar sound file as the zombie squeal/half water bottle/ammo combine as a place holder.

tbh tho helmet hasn't saved my life that i can see. Got 1shotted by mosin when i doubt i was showing much of anything else... worn motorcycle helmet plenty of times just to be harassed by knife/scythe wielding maniacs as they cut into my hands and feet. can't say that it's happened to me but i've seen some hoxton magic hillarious stuff on youtube to warrant wearing the bucket.

open palm that shit. Closed fist is really only going to work on flesh. Like you said with the whiplash, if you're going to want to hurt someone in that you're going to target the joints, so push that head to the side/backwards in as violently and fast as you can and you've got a crawler. tbh i'd reckon the splitting axe would do more damage (or would hit more consistantly) blunt vs sharp on shaped armor... i'd take blunt every time. That's roughly 3kg at the head and however much in the handle plus the weight and torque you put into the swing... impulse be damned, your head is going to move out of the way with some force. At the end of the day it's a gamey mechanism so it doesn't really matter what does what, but i like where you're going with the stats part, informative and enjoyable.

;s i thought arma3 was shift to sprint. Must accept double tap input also. Now all we need is a vault action for arma3 ala dayz and we're set. Also, BI forums are terrible. Just signed up to put in some troubleshooting issues and can't find the post button in the terribly ugly design of the page... That and i think it's not there. alas, a story for another time.

so does this mean that doubletap W while running still brings you to a standing sprint, or a crouch/prone fast mode? Noticed before any of this that running always made me stand run and thought that was default, but if they're introducing a fast mode for each stance ala arma3 then would be good to know.

Yes and No. If you're running around in a red fireman's outfit you will draw attention. But as said above, it's not particularly effective a defense as you need to lay in the right environment to make your tone blend, and there's a varied environment tone throughout cherno (brown forest, green/yellow grassy hills etc..). Colour is less important than is breaking up your body profile, or restricting the view of potential/enemies from a location.things like boots/helmets/hands and gun are readily recognizable while your side, back or lowered weapons are less so. It's not going to make you the predator. You're still going to need to obscure your vision to target as much as possible through not running along ridges, open fields and sticking to denser cover that reduces the snapshot of players looking at you. That said, hiding in conifers/shrubs is much easier if you have the appropriate tone, but as with any game out there, if you move (sometimes less movement is worse than more) i'm going to see you. I've got a keen eye for it, and i'm guessing lots more of the FPS crowd do too. And as above, if you're playing on ultra low graphics, you're at an advantage to spotting people as they stand out like dogs nuts. Remember when you used to be able to turn 'smoke grenade effects' down to V-low on counterstrike and see through the smoke? yeah, that kind of easy. All this said and done, I found the green raincoat in ruined condition to be a better camo than most mil gear as it's less bright and more neutral with the grey and red tears through it. Also, for beach running, nothing beats beige caravan shorts, red/grey hoodie and yellow checked bandanna. You'd be surprised how easy it is to blend into the dead grassy fields and shrubs with that ghetto kit.

I'm pretty much onboard with this. There's just about nothing justifying me cutting down a mosin, unless i'm really just starting out (and who finds hacksaws anyway). If it's a 1+mech=2 process, then you're sacrificing either a bayonette (redundant as can opener does job and bayo doesn't skin atm) or range for what? If it takes up 4-8 slots in your gear than maybe, but if you're in need of a quick CQC weapon and you've got mosin, either pistols out or drop your LRS and go ironsights. I get the point in 'real life' for if you're robbing a 711 or want to be particularly concealed in your assault/defense, but people out there in Cherno aren't going to stop and gawk because they can't see your gun, they're just going to shoot at you from a range you'll find it harder to hit them at. I see no purpose in sacrificing flexibility of the mosin here, but it would be cool if it's a completely new weapon, and variation with same ammo type should be only a good thing....
