Well, speaking for yourself, maybe. Most countries/colonies of the Commonwealth adopt the phrase "Caveat Emptor" which is Latin for 'Let the buyer beware' which is an admission of government that the seller is in a position of greater information/power than the buyer, and that it is the buyer's objective to research before they surrender their money/goods/payment the product, lest they get burned. You're somewhat correct in that Alpha allows for developers some leeway to put in less effort, but ultimately you still haven't (strictly) purchased 'the product', and it sounds like you're intelligent enough to know what 'early access' means, so i won't explain it further than what is in this thread. It is everyone's obligation to know what they are buying, and if your expectation falls short of that then too bad. You are essentially an investor that receives no monetary return and the only gain you receive is the final product, in whatever state it may be. As with investment, there is risk involved. If you did not manage that risk too bad. Plenty of people lose money on the sharemarket, but you don't see people screaming in their respective trading houses about how they made a poor decision. They fade out of obscurity. Unless they're a US banker. TBH a more useful analogy would be testing pharmaceuticals. Most modern countries enforce rigorous tests prior to human testing for safety purposes. That said, certain life-threatening afflictions sometimes give rise to 'early access/trials' of potentially lethal treatments, but the cost is outweighed by potential gain. Although it may be the cancer that gets you in the end, you're taking quite a gamble on your remaining minutes/hours/days to try to grab a few more slices of life. Unlucky for some, DayZ early testing "Alpha early access" is not lethal, so they slap a disclaimer on it, take your money, and thank you for your support of their future product.

So where have all the Mosins gone?

Lol look through the recent threads on similar topics. There are some verbatim posts across three threads. Some people are either just trolls, upping post count for luls, or have a vested interest in slagging DayZ lolol.

What's the current hacking status like in DayZ:SA?

The end is nigh. repent all ye sinners -
Now THAT is an interesting topic! :beans: Dean has said (well i heard it said :3) that he intends to allow for mod-support to the game. With things like the Steambox coming out (and i'm not sure if PSN / xbone network?) have a similar thing to steam community sharing mods and such, then that would probably kill off paid for DLC, and most games push this by disallowing modders into their game to support their DLC products. If PSN and Xbone have these avenues of media sharing then it would be unfair to charge them for it, but PC gets it through steam community/email etc... So i'd like to know where they go with this too. TBH it's this 'consolification' that I'm most worried about. Control scheme and mechanics I have faith they won't be watered down (because it's generally more effort to do this once you already have it in there) and looking at Bohemia's track record of dense control-schemes and simulations. But please please please no hats :(. They could always still get around this by releasing cosmetic packs, or map expansions (which I do not endorse!) for paid DLC or something, as most mod-resources would probably be server/shard side (if client side then ESP would be useless, just make glowing skins and such), wheras if it was Bohemia created it would exist across all hives/shards and players would have a real 'benefit' from the purchase, without the modding community competing directly with the DLC packages. Enough of this subversive talk, don't want to be giving people ideas you know.

Throw a forum mod in as the villain/stalker killer and Dean Hall's corpse somewhere, being eaten by a swarm of 12yo zed's.

Your thoughts on the newest implementations

phew. Wasn't sure about some of the reports i was hearing. Not sure why you'd get hyper and hypo for the most part, I'd have thought it would be one or the other. Hopefully if it's unforgiving like i'd expect Europe / Eastern EU to be, then we can get some better clothing and heatpacks to stick into your jowels for a quick fix. -
also include some KoS and hacker fan service as a what-the moment if you cant figure it out ;) like 1 tile of a flying tank, or clothes being ripped off your body by ghosts, but it was all just a dream...

Eugen on new Engine Modules: "growth hurdles are mostly gone"
q.S Sachiel replied to WhiteZero's topic in General Discussion
Noice. sounds like the team is growing to speed now since the last major employment? Snowball effect is always good, hopefully we're 'over the hump' now :) I'd still put a base-release time no earlier than Q3 2015 personally. -
Don't really get close enough most of the time to see their beady little eyes And when you do they're covered head to toe in clothes helmets glasses masks and bandannas. I'm more interested in what's in their hands and back :)

VHS2 with VOG9 mmmm -
Bro they're most likely just spammers. Look at them, they're all under 10 posts and half without avatars. Either that or they're too young for the ESRB rating and haven't learned how to source their own information from the internet yet.

O hey. I see your post count is nice and low. Seeing as there's a Dean bashing thread, an a stickied "this game is shit wtfbbq plz giev me money back thread" at top of this forum section i'm going to come right out of the closet and say that you're trolling here. Back to Narnia with you! http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/6794-i-give-up-this-game-is-bull-i-want-my-money-back/

Is It International Crazy Person Weekend?
q.S Sachiel replied to Zombie Milkman's topic in General Discussion
yeah ok but plenty of times ive clubbed someone to death ingame while in tight spaces and such, but ive never really been killed by punches while with an ak. bolt actions maybe even semis thats a very possible situation imo, but yea ive still had some what the moments while in melee, like a girl that wouldnt take hits with a bat while she cut me up with a scythe. in my experience knockout with 3 punches is pretty rare. They knock down, but not out. I've taken plenty of shotguns from poor players (well probably a handful of times) who failed to connect in the first 1-2 and then i took it from them to use it on them. They got up in my experience and then i put them down, but knocking out, maybe you're really low on water/food? You didn't specify what gear you had on you, now i read over it, so if you had anything less than an automatic i'd be inclined to say that hand-to-hand is a legitimate tactic and not particularly difficult to see beating you or me, without being there and watching it or experiencing it. And to re-emphasize i don't knock people out, nor brawl, but i've seen enough concussions or otherwise, though sometimes people just don't get up because they expect the other person to let off. I'll definitely admit though that it feels somewhat annoying or imbalanced at times, but this shouldn't really be a problem unless they catch you offguard or in a tight space. If you see freshies making tracks for you in the fields/streets just show them the door. keep moving if you can, because in previous versions it was quite difficult to hit players at all, less so were they moving about, or running away from you. -

I know your ruse, Ramsay Snow. You've got a good man's bits to prove for your deceit! That said, most people don't let me get close enough to trick them, but i did like the snail on crack metaphor. Also lul @ extremely difficult to knock people out with hits from fist. Man i'm no Mike Tyson but I know how easy it is to kill or knock people out cold from a solid punch to the jaw or a king hit (no i don't slam people, just saying lul). Lasting more than 30seconds in a heated confrontation is harder than knocking someone cold. All you gotta do is get them to the floor then stomp ala UFC. I avoid freshies like the plague, because they're either going to get after your kit, or they're a decoy/spotter for the guy with his shotgun up your ass. IF they get close i off them. -
yeah ok so we're on teh same page. Leaving them in packs i'm not really for... but then you could just hide them under bigger things / honey pots like multiple bean tins or MainROT when they come out ;) ;) ;)

i think he was referring to broadcasting how many games one has pirated. Yeah look, i've seen figures several years ago saying that consoles together far trump pc sales. I can still really only see this being a good thing for the game. Whether BI makes money from the divergence is another matter.

Have nothing better to do? Take the western highway.
q.S Sachiel replied to hotcakes's topic in General Discussion
Don't trust this man. He is spy. Route is dotted with dangers, contains no food and is a hellhole to navigate. I'm also not parked up around Kamenka barracks and ran into over 80players at once on the same server. Western route is death i say! But seriously, running on the train tracks is pretty bad from what i've seen. Lots of people do it and they're great for target practice. -
Yeah great i've heard the statistic, and i'm about that age anyway. I see quite a few kids waiting round the block for Halo and CoD and several other franchises on day-zero release. You may have noticed that i'm not for the franchise, but i was making the point that despite my dislike for it, and what i feel to be a bland, recycled franchise, people still lap it up without batting an eyelid. But people have always enjoyed pulp, whatever form it may come in. To each their own.

Yes. The very first to make that screaming weasel show his full potential. If you can light your beer, well you're probably russian. skip straight to 13:50 for the lulz should you so desire. Please excuse the updated graphics :( you should have a hard time lighting anything under 40% ethanol to my knowledge, that's around 80proof. hehe.

@deathlove Yeah don't get me wrong i wouldn't want to be in front of it, but with 40 people on the server, if you can't knock shit down or crush things you're not doing a whole lot more than chugchugchug ;) Also saw a similar video, may have been from the same show, where a guy slaps armored plates on hit truck and goes on a rampage, has several rifles allegedly shooting from gunports that he's cut in his car, and ploughed through a school and several other buildings before, much like this, disabling himself and getting shot by cops.
