You have two games, Rust and Dayz which both started development around the same time. Look at both these games. Garry has done an outstanding job with the development of Rust, and it has had amazing progress. Dayz SA, on the other hand, is a giant stick in the mud. Look at the stuff we were promised, and look where we are. I uninstalled SA. I may install it sometime in 2018-2020 when the game actually gets finished.

The problem with the game. My views
Insane Ruffles replied to insaneroy's topic in General Discussion
Isn't modding supposed to come in soon? I'm waiting for that, because of now the game is still developing at an extremely slow pace. Rust is already way ahead of the game, and it has become an awesome, enjoyable experience. Dayz SA on the other hand has been pretty much the same thing since day 1... just more clothes and guns. It isn't anyone's imagination that the game is crawling along. Hell, Arma 3 Exile and Epoch are developing at a much faster pace. Maybe it's because SA devs are working on new engine mechanics? I don't know, but I have waited for a long time now for Dayz SA to pick itself up, and it hasn't happened. -
Damage has always been a problem with standalone, and they have yet to fix it.

My dissatisfaction with the map of DayZ .

Every house would not be an exact carbon copy, though. You said the setting is pretty bland yourself... That's why I think we need a change. If there were signs of where battles took place, that would be awesome. All it looks like now is an empty town with a few signs of deterioratio. -

... I don't know what game you are playing, but the DayZ SA I play has a few customized buildings, while the rest are the same buildings with added interiors. It's bland, especially when you see the same exact copies in every town with no changes. -

There will be a new map, supposedly. Hopefully it has new buildings. Arma 2 buildings are very bland. -
And this is why the devs shouldn't let the masses tell them about guns. People like these have no clue what they are talking about.

SA is in alpha, which means a lot of stuff is constantly broken and fixed every patch. If you haven't played the mod yet, don't touch standalone. Standalone doesn't have nearly as much depth that the mod has (it's kind of getting there, but it is still a very long ways away). There is a reason DayZ is famous, and that is because of the mod.

Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)
Insane Ruffles replied to SmashT's topic in General Discussion
Please don't implement the stamina system from arma 2 or 3. It was terrible when you are getting shot at but your character will only jog. Even starving and near death, people would use their last bit of strength to get out of certain death. They should make it so that you can run as long as you want too, but the longer you run the more adverse the effects become. -
Some people want it to be an anti-game, where "fun" isn't really applicable. Some people want it to be a survival game that is fun. That's the real disparity here. In reality, the game has to have a balance of both. The minority think that their anti-game should become a reality, but that is just bad for business and bad for DayZ as a whole. DayZ has always been about risk vs reward and player interaction. We saw a peak of what the anti-game would be like, and it is full of KoS and little group interaction, because people could not afford to share or afford to interact, it was too risky considering how low loot was. It created an "every man for himself" situation which is as far away from DayZ as you can get (unless you are a bandit.) This is where you get the realistic vs immersion argument. There are extremes on both sides, but you have to find a balance, or the essence of DayZ will be ruined.

why doesn't the bipod fit on the mosion?!
Insane Ruffles replied to GhostSlayer (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
I have a restored 91/30 and it shoots 3 MOA. The moa of a mosin at 100 yards is 3, or 3.15 inches. The majority of Mosins shoot within that. Just because a large percentage (30-40%) are bust up bullet lobbers doesn't mean it is an innacurate gun. A mosin in good or "pristine" condition should shoot 3 or 4 moa. -

Sorry, but it is now clear that you have no idea what you are talking about. The worst I've ever seen a mosin shoot is 7 MOA, and that thing had alot of rust in its barrel. Mine shoots 3 MOA, as most non-rusted Mosins do. I would say average is 3 or 4. You act like mosins weren't dunked in vats of cosmoline to preserve them. I'm starting to think you haven't even owned one. -

M4a1's have a much shorter barrel and a much less powerful round and are built to be automatic, it isn't comparable with the Mosin. The only pressure points on the barrel are from the barrel bands, which are very easily adjusted. After that, the quality of the bore is the only concern. I've looked over 100's of Mosins, and only around 4 or 5 had terrible/rusted rifling. Sights can also play a factor, but you have to sight every gun in after awhile so that shouldn't be a surprise. -

Here we go again... The K98 Mauser can shoot 1-2 inch groups at 100 yards. Modern rifles shoot with or within 1 inch groups. The Mosin shoots within 2-3 inch groups. It is not an inaccurate rifle by any means, and can get the job done with a tiny bit less accuracy than other rifles. Furthermore, there are many mosins that can shoot 3-4 inch groups at 500 yards. -
No, I did not find any of those. I found a pipe as my only weapon. People have different ideas of what a survival game is. The majority of people want it to be Zombie survival, not hunger survival. Hunger shouldn't be the primary threat in the game, it should be a passive threat/concern just as it would be for real.
