More zombies, fewer guns, more reality

Agree. And less ammo of any type.

    Gun to someone's head

Yeah !! Funny, I was thinking of the same idea a couple of days ago. You also should be able to move (slowly) with your hostage in that position. Give you possibility to take him somewhere or escape from his friends.

    Sounds and surroundings

You are talking about footprints and I was searching in the forum if anyone suggest that already. Sure we would need footprints for players and animals we'll hunt. We need it especially if they do snow... Snow without footprints is definitively useless...
  4. Good idea indeed. It make you want to survive longer and not only play at war.

    Body temperature and clothes

Well. I saw something strange the last day (strange about reality, but not at all considering this is a game, in alpha and the weather feature haven't been implement yet), something I hope they will not forget when they'll make the weather system. My friend and I were soaked and at the same moment my friend found some new clothes in the ground. Those clothes was in better condition so he changed himself. At the end, he got a new trouser and a new top (can't remember exactly what top it was), anyway... he was still as much soaked as I was... If you are soaked and you change your clothes for dry ones, you should be dry again, or maybe just damp. Sorry, small edit. While I'm talking about weather effect and rain. The waterproof clothes like wellies, raincoat, etc... should be really waterproof, as long as they are in a pristine or worn state (no big hole in it) and keep you dry under the rain. They should also add some waterproof trousers and some protection for your bag (like so many people have when they are coming to Thailand during the rainy season...).

    Water

I think... I read somewhere that dev's want that even water from fountains can have a risk of contamination (smaller than from river and pond for sure). Since then, I'm keeping one set of pristine water purificator in my bag... just in case.
  7. There is something surprising me in Dayz... There's no corpses, well there is some undead corpses roaming all around, but where are the corpses of people who died and didn't change into zombies ? Died of starving, or died shot by some others survivors... Many houses have blood in it, but it's impossible to find what's happened to those peoples... Not a trace... Maybe some good soul survivors buried them but... there is not a trace of grave neither. So here is the point. Dayz wouldn't look so clean if you could find some dead bodies a bit everywhere (in the houses, in the forest, in the abandoned cars along the road, floating in the ponds, etc...). But my suggestion is more than just about a visual aspect. It would be nice if those corpse were lootable. Let me explain. I found it very bizarre to enter in a house and just find a can of bean waiting for me on the table. I mean, how many survivors past in that house before me ? Looking exactly for the same thing than me (food, gear, weapons, etc...). So that good fellow survivor had a thought for me and left the can of bean just for the next survivor to enter this house. I can't believe it one second. I tried to imagine what would happened in case of such apocalypse scenario. The population start to die then army is deployed and try to fight the infected while gathering the survivor and protecting them. Then at last when even the army is collapsing, military units are deserting or falling back to their bases abandoning the people, what do the people do ? Try to survive by themselves. They pick up all the thing that the army left behind and go on their way to survive. When you see the aspect of many buildings and cars, you guess that the country had been in that mess for many years so how many of those people survived first and then died ? So the point of that post is to say : if there is anything of valor lootable in a world like that, it is not in a house, neither in a military base, because all those places have been loot by other survivors a long time ago (even in the game people are running to military base because they are thinking : there is the loot, but it would be not, exactly because other survivors got the same idea before and loot it already). Any item of interest should be found on the body of other survivors who died somewhere. I think it could be nice in terms of gameplay if not everybody would have to rush in the military base to get some ammo, but more to scavenge all around to try to find some dead bodies. If the dead bodies should spawn randomly, it would be like searching for helicopter crash to find a good loot... (of course some places could have more dead bodies than other). Thanks for read and post your comments. Bye

There is some server with day/night cycle available at the moment ? Please give some names... I've played so many times on day time only servers that I thought the feature was switch off.

The land of 1000 corpses - a story of looting

Sure, it could still have some loot in some building but not so much and not so automatic. I found a nice place in game where you can loot 4-5 food items every time you go in and no zombies around... I'm not hungry anymore... It's a nice place and I was happy to find it. I even bring my friends in difficulty there and now we are all completely healthy, but what the point of playing survival game if it is that simple to survive... You'll tell me, don't go there if you looking for difficulty, but it would be stupid to do so. Once the place exist and I know it, sure I gonna make my camp around it. That place should just not exist. Loot in building should be deep in zombie territory exactly where no survivor dare or be able to get yet. Anyway, we'll see what the dev's will implement. Right now, it is just a suggestion.

    un-crafting items

    agree.
  11. It's not about buildings... but different natural environments should be nice too... Deeper forests, burnt forest (hey, where were the firefighter when it started), etc.

    Depth in DayZ (Roleplay? KoS?)

I think less equipment (ammunition and food) and more zombies would force players to cooperate...

    Rats

Hi there. I'm living in Bangkok and I've seen many big rats in the streets. I'm agree with JiJi, they always flee. Rats is a good idea, but you forget about another urban animal : the dog. It's interesting to see what dogs are doing when back to the wild (Bangkok is not wildness, but the dogs are living on their own), they are creating some packs, get some territories and even be aggressive against certain people, especially at night. What happens to the dogs living in Chernarus before that plague ? Just think how many people used to have a dog there. What they all become ? Most of them died tied to their dog house or because they didn't know how to feed themselve in the wild, but as for human, some of them survived and came back to wild life. For me, dogs are most likely to attack humans, especially at night and if the human is alone and the dogs are in pack. Another thing : they aren't scared by fire... :D Look like big AI work to implement dog packs behavior, so we'll see. Anyway, it sounds to me more realistic to be attacked in wildness or in cities by dogs than by rats. PS: sorry for poor english... I guess you understand it anyway. :)

    Drag Dead Bodys

I'm agree about dragging unconscious players as well. Dragging by arms or legs is better than carrying... Most players have bags already and the addition of bag+body will be a very loud burden. Not so realistic thought.
