Rocket discusses Smoking and Cigarettes in Day Z

Well, I think almost every soldiers in WWII whatever their countries and ideas see a big purpose to it... WWII was one of the thing that been very close to apocalypse and it was real...

    Base Building Ideas

We could barricade and upgrade existent buildings, it can be cool enought. On a realistic base, to built a structure from nothing is fucking long, especially if instead of going to the supermarket to get some processed food, you must spend most of your time to find your own food. Hunting and gathering is real time consuming... Humanity invented agriculture and livestock for gain time, then they stop living in caves and start to built houses and civilization... I don't say it is not possible. It is just about what the game will prioritize what is the players most important concern in the game : building cabins or rough surviving...

    for balancing the pvp

I'm quite agree with what you say about Dayz, bandit behaviour and PVP. Btw I think you don't know what are RP servers... Most RP servers encourage players interactions even in fighting and killing. That means you are allowed to have bandit behavior or killing other players. Only you are not allowed to KOS... in fact it opens possibility for many more kind of fight than just the basic hide and seek game. RP is looking for realism and players are respecting some rules because they seek for that realism... In apocalypse if you are the one with a weapon you wouldn't kill people and firing ammos like you are doing in a battlefield. Why because ammunitions and people are resources. Nobody in a precarious situation of life ever throw by the window resources, they are using it otherwise they will die. If they could do that in Dayz it would be awesome.

    CARS SUGGESTION (REALISTIC AND POSSIBLE)

I'm taking this thread back from the dead... Like we got a weapon suggestion, this is Car suggestion. What about that ? http://malaysia-campervan.blogspot.com/2012/04/uaz-452-bukhanka-bread-loaf-van.html http://www.xor.org.uk/silkroute/equipment/choosevan.htm I see someone suggest caravan, I suggest camper van too. It is not stupid at all if you can have the options of this kind of vehicle in-game. Make it possible to storage, sleep, cook, enter and move inside. Many clans will build some bases and fortifications once the barricading system will be up, but for many lone-wolf, I think a moving base is really better. If you not strong enough to defend your territory, then it is better you are always on the move and elusive.
  8. Any cure meat. Raw ham, sausages, etc. As long as they are stored indoor and don't get water on them or too much humidity, they can be eaten even after 2 years.

Hi there. Is this a RP clan ? Your content look a bit RP but I'm not sure.

    Sewer would be perfect.

Rolling your sleeves (and why I think it can be done easily)

Open jackets and put hood capacities would be the same logic for programming and could be nice too. I don't know if it needs to have a purpose in game. Maybe just cosmetic thing... Or can be use only for fresh or warm up depends on the weather.

Server tells me to wait for hours while joining

I got the same problem sometimes too. It's annoying cause you have to wait the timer (on my side it is often 100 seconds), but the second time I usually can enter the server.

    Realistic player identification

It could be nice indeed as recognize people in the game is very harder than in real (especially because everybody got the same face and gear while in real life you would have some small but significant details). On another I think that this feature would work when you are near enough of the person (and you can see those details). No bounty hunter sniper killing you from a mile and knowing without doubt that you were the guy he was after... For sure you can't know every bandit in there, but it is just like in the wild west, you can't know all the bad guys and that's why you keep suspicious, but maybe one day come where you may meet one motherfucker you remember his name and it will make the difference.

    Underground Subway?

Cities in Chernarus are too small to get metro... You don't make a metro with only 2 stations and I can't see more than 2 stations in Cherno (and I'm very optimistic)... So make a metro between Cherno and Electro... There's already a train doing that. Better try to keep the map realistic (it's quite not but it is ok).

broken tank or apc at an army base

I never understood how in a zombie apocalypse the army can be defeated... Tanks, planes, helicopters, ships... and of course soldiers equipped with full auto rifles... Even in great number running towards machine guns never been a great tactic... First World War prove it and that's why they invented camo... lol
  18. Hunting a deer and be caught in a gunfight with one or many people shooting back at you is not the same thing in my opinion. I gonna quote Cyberpunk 2020 rulebook talking about the game fighting rules. There's a lot of vague ideas and theories about modem weapons encounters - most of them from the Hollywood Never-Empty-Six-Gun-School of Armed Combat. These misconceptions have crept on little flat feet into the design of many role-playing games, leading to characters who can be repeatedly shot with large caliber handguns until they run out of "hit points" and who can fire Ingram MAC-10's one-handed and hit with every bullet. In other words, good, clean fun. FNFF is not good, clean fun. Most of the data herein has been complied from ballistics reports, police data, FBI statistics and other not-clean fun sources. These sources tend to point to a couple of basic truths about firefight combat. 80% of most gunfights occur between untrained amateurs at a range of 21 feet. 50% of these raging gun battles happen within 8 feet or less! Most (60%) occur in dimly lit and difficult conditions - dark, tiny alleys, with both participants panting and out of breath, pausing momentarily to snap off a badly aimed shot at a fleeing shadow, then ducking back for cover. Hits are surprisingly rare. When they do occur (assuming a large caliber weapon's involved), the victim is usually hors de combat on the first shot from a combination of round-shock and terror. A solid hit with a .44 magnum will usually splatter a real person all over New Jersey. This was just what I meant by doing my other post about snipers players. To be a sniper is not as easy in real life as in game. Anyway, I'm not complaining about snipers, I just telling some fact. In game I'm careful and aren't been snipe yet.
  19. Sniper players will hate me... But, about realism I'm quite sure in such apocalypse you won't have any snipers at all unless army professionals. Most of every gunfights between unexperienced civilian wouldn't exceed 15-20 meters range between the fighters (basically like it is nowadays when people without proper training start a gunfight... watch for police statistic...).

    Diving

Useless... If the point is to add special loot, I prefer to got some huge underground spooky bunker full of zombies.

Suggestion: Lootable zombies and loot not bound to certain "areas"?

looting zombies and corpses (there must be some corpses everywhere) is a good idea. Nonetheless, anything looted on a zombie should be ruined, badly damaged or at least damaged (if you are lucky). About your idea of looting military gear outside of the military places, it's like this already. You can find some military weapons especially in police station and a bit everywhere. In my opinion, it's not so realistic, because the military would deploy for help people, and first thing they would do is disarm civilian. First because they should think they are able to protecting people without arming them. Second, to keep power and control. Then third, for prevent people to shoot soldiers, other survivors and turn to banditry. Even when the army collapses and soldiers flew the field, if they left some gear behind them then it would have remain in the military bases where army uses to stay, OR it has been looted already by survivors and now can be found on formal survivors corpses or zombies. So the circle comes back around...

    Anonymous random servers

Any feature that could "force" the player playing in a certain way will be bad receive by the community. You better forget it.

    log our protection

I never been killed while logging out. Being able to choose a good place for logging off is a survival skill as well. Hope you'll learn from your mistake... Actually, everybody makes mistakes before learning and in this game mistake often means death.
  24. I'm a veteran of pen and paper roleplaying as I think some (many) people in this community might be as well. The answer to that is not a game mechanic. It's roleplaying. If you want to be a good guy, be good and careful your ass anyway. If you want to be bad, so be it too, but just roleplay your character and his sanity too. You can roleplay everything you want and that's the magic of P&P roleplaying games. The interface is not a fucking program with limitations and things you can do and others you can't. The interface (we call him game master) is a person who can adapt the events and world reactions to every single thing the characters are doing. On the other side the players can make their character do absolutely everything they want and this, there's no one video game able to do it yet. So now, we are talking about video game and so we have to follow the program mechanic. Dayz not allow our character to do everything we want it to do, but the game give us some great opportunity for roleplaying especially with the free talking feature. So now if you want to play a normal guy or a crazy guy or a guy starting normal and going little by little to craziness, the better way is to roleplay it on your own. Hard first but really enjoyable, you can trust me. As example I had this long a character who been a normal survivor (my first character), I got a Bosozoku Bandit (japanese motorcycle gang man) all wear in leather and black, fucking walking in the middle of the street in villages shooting zombies after zombies with his sawed off because he just don't give a shit about anyone and anything (This one was kind of crazy... unfortunately he died going up a ladder... not a glorious death for a guy like him... hehe fucking ladders), and now I have a UN medic girl left for dead by her squad and trying to find some friendly survivors and help the other anyway. So the choice is yours.

    Deathmatch disposal?

I think you right there. There's deathmatch now because, first there is nothing else to do, second because it's pretty easy to get geared so you don't care too much of dying... In the future, when people will need much more effort and time, first to make their character survive, second to geared him maybe we'll see many less loonies running to Electro for deathmatch and lose it all.
