After 560 hours played I've finally understood why people call this a running simulator.. It took you over 500 his to realise this? -
http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Fo3XCWE4gK0 No it's not probably a virus. It's a bug that appeared in update 45 I think. Have you had 1080 res in dayz before this? There is a file you have to delete dayz.cfg - someone here will correct me if that's the wrong file. Don't play with the drop down settings on the dayz main menu but change them in the configure> video> user interface. There's a you tube vid for exactly this problem.

So I was just watching a PsiSyndicate video about the new ARMA3 2017 MOD. I therefore make no claim to have thought this up, I also did a quick search and this may have been mentioned before now, apologies if so. Basically your game gets tougher (more scary) if you don't interact with other players - w.r.t. ARMA 3 MOD. How this is implemented in the ARMA3 MOD I don't know. However, I do believe a similar system may be used in DAYZ to reduce KOS/encourage more player interaction. Basically I think we should have an in/sanity meter - similar to blood/health/water/food etc. By interacting with players killing them, cuffing them, swapping items, chatting, running in a group (proximity) you affect your sanity either for the positive or negative. It is a zombie apocalypse after all! There would obviously have to be some minor benefit/deficit to game play as either/both bandit/hero play styles. Again I'd love to hear suggestions as to how this may be implemented. Maybe the idea is a turd, but it is supposed to be a survival game during a time of zombie apocalypse your mental state would clearly be affected. What do you lot think?

Sanity/rationale/crazy meter to encourage player interaction?
BAMO4O replied to BAMO4O's topic in Suggestions
Suppose it could be the variety of people. Too much of a good thing ya know...including the wife. I'm not sure I agree, the same people all the time would drive me demented - in real life of course - this probably doesn't transcend the video game world. -

Unfortunately I haven't played Silent Hill  . How is it similar? -

Thanks. I envision a way where there could be a cost or benefit to adopting any of the playstyles. I know some form of character progression has been talked about but how difficult it would be to implement would be a question for designers/programmers I guess. -
Has anyone noticed that the devs have started to hide ammo and sewing kits under things like rotten apples etc? Is this new or have I been missing out all this time?

About 600 pounds (stg). I run an i3 and a HD7870. Works fine on med to high settings. I would go for an i5 or a Xeon processor if I was building again. Hope this helps!

Looking back, Do you think that EA release was a good idea?
BAMO4O replied to c00lface's topic in General Discussion
Thanks. I've been reading a great many of the posts. Mainly to follow development - anything that is happening in game will be reflected here I find. We know he didn't have to purchase. That goes for all of us Cab andisn't really constructive to the thread. -

I did say it was a good idea. For all. Not only those that wanted it. -

I think the OP's questions are entirely legitimate for a start. Some people in this thread need to actually read what had been posted before posting themselves. That's directed at you mainly Caboose. That goes for a lot of these threads to be honest. Yes it was a good idea to release, in a business sense and also for us. Everybody's a winner. I had never played Arma or the mod so for me it was brilliant - 150ish hr in DayZ, then a quick purchase of Arma 3 for a little more game time. I guess that works for BI too. Anyway, great game, has got somewhat stale for the last little while and the pace of development could be faster. I have no experience of game dev so maybe this is typical? -
