Why do my arms look like salami?

I don't think I've ever seen or heard someone freak out so much about freckles, even IRL. But yeah, that's what they are; I realized that the second I saw the picture. From the thread title, I thought your arms were going to be shaped like giant sausages or something (which definitely WOULD be a bug of some sort). The game is still in alpha, which means many things, including the rendering, aren't completely finished or optimized yet, which in turn means that things such as sporadic rendering/de-rendering are likely to occur, and this is very likely just that; I've played before and had pieces of clothing appear randomly after a certain time, and this really is no different. Just calm down and continue playing the game. Also, congrats on a hearty trolling session.

    A fix for Zombie Spawn.

    I like it.

    It's a trap!

Glad to see you're learning the ropes! Not sure if you already figured this out, but in case you haven't yet, you can tear t-shirts (and most other shirts) into rags, including the one you spawn with. Since you stated you had rags, I'm assuming you did figure this out. I'm actually surprised that you managed to kill any zombies with not only a machete, but your fists as well, considering that, since the last update, it's difficult to kill them even with a fire axe. Well done!

Crossbow and Sporter Tag - A deadly game!

Great vid! Looks like fun; might have to try it. Always great to see people come up with creative ways to enjoy the game in its current state.

    cant do anything in game

It might have been a bug from something in the area you were in, if it kept happening in the same area; that's what it sounds like to me, considering it seemed to fix itself once you moved.

    I'm New

Pretty much; I would also check your internet connection speed, though the graphics probably are the issue; the game isn't really optimized yet graphically, so higher settings may bog your system down, depending on the specs. With my setup (listed in my signature), I can play it pretty well @ 1920x1200 with most settings on normal.

    equal graphic detail for all

I also agree, somewhat, but keep in mind that, at least for now, from a distance the grass and foliage doesn't really render much, if at all, so the only time it will really become a camouflage issue is if people are close to you; of course, that might be the most important time to be able to see someone, so it depends on your circumstances.

Can this computer run DayZ? :)

It should run it fine; most of those specs are comparable to (or better than) my current PC (which is listed in my signature below), and it runs the game just fine with most settings on normal, a few on high. Yes, at 2.4 GHz, the CPU does seem a little lacking, but it says it can be turboed to 3.4 GHz, which, in an ASUS-based gaming machine, shouldn't be a big issue. The only other thing I might be wary of is the mobile GPU, but it says its a GTA 860, so even as a mobile GPU it should be pretty good. Overall, I think you'll be just fine with it, especially after the game is optimized more; remember that it IS still in alpha, so there are many more game optimizations to come. If you use the nVidia GeForce Experience to optimize games, I would leave DayZ alone there, as the optimization options are actually pretty crappy, and that laptop should be able to surpass them easily; it keeps wanting to set everything as low as possible for me, as well as knock the resolution down to 1440x900; I can run it just fine with most settings set to normal @ 1920x1200 resolution.

    How to Use Binoculars

Yeah, it took me a little while to figure out how to use the binoculars; for those who watch the video and still can't get it, it's pretty simple once you figure it out: get them into your hands, then hit SPACE BAR to bring them up into ready stance (should look like you're looking through them in 3rd person); once there, quickly click (almost a tap) the right mouse button, and your view should change to that of looking through the binoculars. As Maxwell said, once this happens, you'll most likely be looking at the ground, so simply look up (move mouse up or down, depending on inversion status) and voila! Keep in mind that this only works when standing, not if you're crouching or prone. Also pretty cool to see the bow in action, though it does suck that it's essentially useless since you can't find or make arrows, and the firing animation doesn't do anything. I'm sure that will change eventually, though (as well as the carrying position for it, hopefully ^_^).
  10. That sounds a lot like me; I'm currently running around with a blue mountain pack, all black clothes (check my signature image; that's me currently), a black fire axe and a 1911 w/ magazine and extra ammo. I kind of wish you could paint more than just the rifles/axes/helmets, like perhaps the backpacks or pistols, or even other melee weapons; I just want to go total blackout (and then perhaps join a high-pop server during nighttime and camp out somewhere waiting for bandits). I'm currently running around looking for a Mosin to paint black, so I can go back to the spawning grounds and try to help fresh spawns by posting up and watching for lame-ass Bambi-killing bandits.

    Some cool outfit

NEW FEATURE SUGGESTION: dogs. Also, why only one sleeve? I for one would like BOTH arms protected. Having two arms makes using rifles easier.

Hey, you'd blend in perfectly if you found a barn full of cheap Ronald McDonald statue knockoffs.

Maybe an apron so she can stay back in the abandoned cabin you "claimed" and prepare the canned beans and rabbit you recently killed while you trek off to Berezino to cap n00bs with your Sporter .22? (Actually, I think that would be kind of funny to see; doming people with a Sporter .22, I mean.)

    For the GIRLS...

Better be careful, though; if it's pink, you'll be easier to spot when running through the woods, and some bandit might want to KoS you to get that sweet-ass tutu for themselves.
  16. But, internet spaceships are serious business. o/

The first vehicle that should be added

The video even has a RL bandit driving around Chernarus! Though he doesn't seem to have his fully-modded M4 and fire axe, or his backpack for holding loot that many others have gathered and he simply stole. Also, we need roller skates.
  18. I like the idea, but I would just circumvent it by using a Mosin. :D Of course, I'd need to clean it for sure. (Thankfully I've always cleaned my RL Mosin before using it again every time, so I don't know from experience what would happen. But I'm sure it wouldn't be good. :D)

What is up with the spammers?

    Pretty much.

    Justice

I actually play on both, though I tend to prefer regular just because I like looking at my own character (not to mention the tactical benefits from camera angles).

    Justice

Nicely done! I was going to ask how yo could be sure that the guy with the axe was the true aggressor, considering he only had a melee weapon (from what I saw), and the guy he killed had a gun; in my experience, it's usually the person who has the tactical advantage that is the aggressor. However, it's apparent from your interaction with him as he was looting his own corpse that he was indeed probably a friendly that was probably trying to help someone else out and got killed for his trouble. Just out of curiosity, are you guys recruiting at all, or is there any way to join up with you? I've been looking for a decent group of friendlies and heroes to join up with, as trying to be one while lone-wolfing it has proven to be rather difficult, and not many of my friends have the game.

KoS;er gets what he deserves.. NOTHING!

Indeed; I was in a control tower at one of the airfields and thought I heard someone walking around outside; just as I decided to ignore it, a guy came up the outside ladder up to the top; I immediately ran down the stairs when he started yelling "I'm friendly" over the mic, so I responded in kind and went back up (my first mistake). So far so good. He asked if I had any food, and I said "sure, I've got plenty" (my second mistake) and we both crouched down so as to avoid the attention of anyone else that might be nearby. I asked him if he had a can opener, and he said yes, so I said "good, because you're going to need---" at which point he pulled out his pistol and shot me point-blank in the face and killed me.

    For the GIRLS...

My guess (and it IS just a guess) would be that they wanted to avoid offending potential female players by having a tight undershirt or bra that REALLY accentuated the breasts, expecting that female players would be upset that the female characters had such a sexist and chauvinist look and feel to them, or that male players were running around on female characters in their underwear to show off their "goods", so they instead gave them a full shirt to give them some sense of modesty. I agree, though, that they could still achieve this while not making it look like every woman in the game raided their tween's clothes hamper before venturing forth into the unknown; a bra of some sort WOULD be more realistic, but, if they wanted to maintain the modesty aspect, like the OP said, just have a tank top or t-shirt like the male characters have. I actually kinda thought the same thing when I had my first female character. I suppose we should just be grateful they're not wearing thongs. :P Also, while we're on the subject of odd clothing choices, is it just me, or does it seem like NOBODY wears socks in this game? I would think that shoes would deteriorate faster from being worn on bare feet all the time, especially if they changed hands (or feet ^_^) so often.
