    Dayz standalone - PAYBACK! -

I hope I run into you some time; I want to do that too. :D
  2. This is why, if I encounter someone who claims to be friendly, I tell them to put their weapon away, and that, if they take it out at all in my presence, I'll shoot them on the spot. If they truly are friendly, they (usually) comply; if not, they (usually) try to kill me. When they ask me why I don't put my gun away, I tell them it's because I don't trust them, and if I were going to kill them, they'd be dead already. Of course, when playing as a neutral medic, the whole idea is to be objective and help everyone, even those who don't really deserve it (such as the asshat the OP mentioned), and there will always be those who take advantage of that kindness to torally fuck you in the ass.

    Map loot markers

1.) YES! I'm able to use the compass as it is while using the DayZDB map (I really only use it because it's a complete photographic map), but being able to use the compass WHILE looking at such a map would be awesome. 2.) Haven't really tried azimuth shooting yet, but, using the method described above, I've actually been able to land nav fairly well; it may not be the PROPER method, but it works all the same. I even managed to locate the giant man found on the DayZDB map by identifying my surroundings, and anyone who has actually found that can tell you it isn't as easy as you might think.

Custom faces idea for the Devs to consider

I would totally have a clown face, so that when I took off my Payday mask, it would just be an even scarier clown underneath.

    Kids with no manners

I've been saying this for YEARS.

    New Character Traits

I kind of like the idea, as random survivors would likely have some sort of specialized skills, whether or not they related to their former profession; and no, it wouldn't completely stop KoS, but it would almost certainly lessen it, because one of the main reasons many people KoS is because you have something they want, and they can do everything they need to themselves, so they're pretty much self-reliant and can lone wolf it, whereas with a system like this, you may be a bit more reliant on other people, causing you to hesitate before just shooting someone. Another reason for a lot of KoS is that people are worried it'll happen to them if they aren't quick enough, so they shoot first. With the chances of KoS for the above reason being lessened, there would be less of a chance that you'll need to defend yourself (but still a chance), and this coupled with the above reason would make people be less on edge and more wary of other people. It is a bit complicated, but if done correctly, could have a lot of potential. I also don't see how one "profession" or skill set would necessarily be superior over any others; yes, in that aspect, one might be better off, but that just means that in other areas they would need more assistance, to balance it out. It would definitely make things tougher for those who want to lone wolf it, but then, IRL, it WOULD be tougher for those people, than for those who band and work together.

    DayZ in Space?

I've heard a few rumors of discussions regarding DayZ being set in space; I think this commercial might show what that might be like. Apparently, in space, no one can hear you scream, but they CAN hear you fart.

I'm glad that you have the maturity and wherewithal to realize your error and offer up an apology (which I accept). I agree 150% about humor and sarcasm not translating well in text; I've actually made the same point myself several times. Of course, this being an online forum, I have little other choice in expressing myself. I gladly accept your beans, and offer some of my own, in hopes that we may one day encounter one another on the fields of Chernarus and work together to defeat the bandits with poor aim that will inevitably be firing upon us. And FYI, I'm 32. :)

I think it was pretty obvious I was joking. Perhaps not. In either event, it sounds like you need to roll a fat J and chill the fuck out. I don't actually pull that kind of shit, because it's been pulled on me, and I really didn't enjoy it, and I don't enjoy putting others through shit I don't enjoy myself (unless they deserve it). And exactly how old do you suspect I am? I'm certainly not a kid, I can tell you that much.

Then I guess I'll have to settle for handcuffing them and force-feeding them rotten fruit and burnt meat, washed down by a nice big bottle of disinfectant, Did you click on it? It's even better after clicking on it.

New tip for the game; slaves

Well, so far I think he's funny as hell, so if this is him @ 50%, I'm almost afraid to see 73%.

I would. I have an ammo can with a lot of Mosin rounds to use up. What's even funnier is that I'm not joking. But about which part? ;)

    Please dont balance loot spawns

I have to concur with this; I've seen many additions and changes in the changelog, but have yet to run across anything new really, besides some composite arrows, a boar and a cow. I, too, would like to play around with the new items and give some feedback on them, but it's hard to do so when they can't be found. I found a crossbow, but have yet to find any bolts; I found arrows, but no bow or items to make a bow. I also haven't figured out what to do with animals once you've killed them, but that's probably more from me not doing enough research yet. But yes, I think that loot balancing should be less of a concern until at least Beta, and new items should be made plentiful so more people can find and test them out.

    Resolution issue, I think?

Be sure to check the setting under Rendering Resolution (or something like that; it's on the main Configuration window that pops up); it lets you change the percentage of the resolution that the game is displayed at, so you can have your resolution set at what you want, but this option can change it so that the game is displayed at 50% of that resolution, or 200%, or various other percentages. This will result in the game looking stretched out; it happened to me a couple of days ago, and it took me a while to remember to change that.

    Post Your Gear So Far

Ok, so here are both of my current characters, Regular and Hardcore (I've died so many times on both that I've lost count): Regular Character (I go by the name Jonny Kash, and this is the main character that I use that name for, and I'll leave you to guess why, though it shouldn't be hard to figure out): I actually DID have a Black Tactical Shirt, but it got Ruined, and I ran across a grey one, so I figured I'd grab it for now, until I can find another black one, or perhaps a Rider's Jacket in decent condition. ;) Hardcore Character (I've wanted to trying doing the all-camo thing again, so I decided to do it with my Hardcore character, and I've decided that this might make playing this character even more interesting):

    Post Your Gear So Far

wisdom, I'm actually surprised/impressed that you still have all of that gear (and that much ammo), especially from that long ago; of course, it will just suck that much more when you finally DO get sniped down and lose it. But something tells me that won't be happening, at least for a while. Now you just need some handcuffs for those keys.
  18. I'd rather live AND die on my back--with a beautiful woman on top of me. Unfortunately, at least as far as DayZ goes, that will likely never happen, so I suppose I'll have to settle for singing I'm a Little Teapot while wearing nothing but a clown mask and some rubber boots before being shot in the groin and left to bleed out before finishing the verse. At least as far as DayZ goes.

    Amazing new arm dislocation feature

Well, it's good to know that all you have to do to fix a dislocated shoulder is put your machete away and pull out your rifle. And who says the internet doesn't teach you valuable life skills?

    LeetleFriend...

What a great way to get into DayZ! :D As for embedding YouTube vids, just copying/pasting the URL (which it appears you did) should do it; works for me, anyways. Not sure why it didn't work for you.

    DAYZ ....ohhhh you

I actually didn't know this; that's pretty cool to know.

    DAYZ ....ohhhh you

Sounds like someone needs to ditch the 56k. That sucks; that's why I try to use stuff like that on my friends instead of dropping it for them, though I know that option isn't always available. I hope it didn't take forever to find it, like it has for me in the past (I once wandered around in the dark trying to find morphine for my broken arm, and didn't find any until the next morning).

    Post Your Gear So Far

What condition was it in when you found it? I've only come across a few so far, and every one was Badly Damaged. What sucks too is that the sewing kit can't be used to repair them. Reminds me of when I ran around in my white undershirt/muscle shirt (because it fits so tightly), a pair of worker's gloves, and a flat cap wielding nothing but a pipe wrench, trying to find people to ask them if they had any plumbing that needed fixing. :D

    militaybase to the east !

I think I get what the OP is saying, but the one issue I see is this: if the spawn areas remain pretty much the same, then that means that, if KoSers are swarming the Eastern part of the map, they'll be in roughly the same area as many of the fresh spawns, which means that a lot of bambis will get wiped out simply because they were seen, which may deter people from playing. Yes, there does seem to be a rather high concentration of military areas in the NW part of the map, and I think the Eastern part of the map could benefit from a few scattered military posts (especially if they really are removing the NEAF, which seems like a dumb idea), but I don't think we need a mass exodus of geared players moving East.
