One would simply have to be careful what he/she says on the radio. I love the idea, and the others concerning radios. I do use an external program to chat with my buddies but I would prefer an in-game system for verisimilitude.

I was just reading George MacDonald Fraser's autobiography about his time in a Scottish Regiment, where there is a long tradition of kicking off one's shoes and closing in faster to engage the enemy with Claymores. Could be their shoes were just rubbish to begin with, though.

Everyone with a copy of the game can join a tier 1 server, when killed they can only join a tier 2 server then 3,4, etc. The tier 1 servers are up until the last man/clan is standing. Hardcore mode only, with natural moon cycles. Perhaps the spawning system could be adjusted as well to make NOD's etc even more rare. For the next round of matches, only those left standing at the end of the old tier 1 servers will have access to the new tier 1 servers. Naturally, hackers will be discouraged from joining in and publicly shamed, mocked, and then finally executed in real life to keep them from doing it again. Motivation? Bragging rights, I suppose. Also I think I'm much better than you. I like this idea.

Yeah! The tournament would need to start at, say, 0400 in game, so people can be a little more sneaky in the early hours. Maybe cash prizes? How much would you pay to enter into a tournament? I'm sure everyone would watch videos of it afterwards....

I've always wanted to participate in some kind of DayZ tournament. Regarding Hardcore servers, they could just join a regular, non-laddered/tournament one. I guess they weren't quite hardcore enough for tier 1:( I'd love to watch a recording of a DayZ tournament cycle, especially if all the different perspectives could be experienced (post-game, not during, for obvious reasons)

When you sit down to write one of your DayZ stories, are you engaged in fiction or nonfiction? My favorites read as nonfiction, journal type stories. If they are nonfiction, how creative is the process? (P.S. I love reading DayZ stories)

I'm at my real girlfriend who actually exists' house often, whom I badgered into getting DayZ as well, and when I try to play on her computer DayZ opens her profile whether I'm using my own steam account or not. This isn't a huge problem, but I'm wondering if anyone else has had the same issue and if there is a solution. This is the case whether I use Six Launcher, Commander, or even run it directly through Steam (which I think is rather wonky). Thanks for your consideration.

In my earlier trials, I had my legs broken near the NE Airfield. I had never used morphine, but understood it to exist. I decided to crawl around Krasnostav for two days, from the woodline at 112 027 to the barns and back, rather than try to crawl all the way to Berezino. I began to hope and wish for another survivor to come along so that I could murder him/her and take his morphine, if'n they had any, but no one ever came:( At some point I dragged my myself to Mount Klen to hunt, and began to go thirsty, so I set my bearings to Black Lake. Somewhere around 130 030 (I didn't have a compass so my bearings weren't exactly accurate, hence the detour) I found an ATV. Yes! Fuck yeah, holy shit woooo! I must have been paranoid about making too much noise, as instead of going to Berezino I followed the large power lines towards Novy Sobor, riding as fast as I could and being just oh so happy. I hit the road at 087 060 too hard, went flying rather unhappily and confused through the air and tumbled into the grass. The ATV caught fire, but miraculously I wasn't too hurt. I continued to follow the power lines and came upon the deer stand at 077 066. I'm an atheist, but I swear that god encouraged me to check it, because who knows? Maybe there would be some morphine. Guess what? Yep, there sure was. Oh to be running again! Not as fast as the ATV, but that's a luxury. I was happy to have my feet back. Right at about 074 067, I decided to get high and fuck with my video settings. I hit escape, packed, smoked, and in my highness managed to miss the Video Options and instead hit "Respawn". I was struck dumb by the "You are dead" notification and stared at my screen in disbelief. I'm pleased that that button has been disabled.

I'm glad that the server is back up, as we really enjoy it and plan to make it our home for awhile. Thanks for hosting an expert server, there aren't enough of those. To the man I shot on the staircase in the school in Elektro the other day: Sorry about that. I saw you looking for me, next time check the balcony;) I'll try to be friendly.
