I haven't played this game in ages so I'm wondering what I have missed while I have been gone. Have there been any big improvements during the past year? Also, I see that the forum has been moved. Are all of the old members still here that I know? And where is everyone's favorite deranged horse moderator? :P

I have used several different headsets. Right now I use a Razer Tiamat and Sean has a Corsair Vengeance 2100. We Ebayed my Megalodon headset and I used to the money to buy the Tiamat after a couple of friends recommended it. Its pretty awesome! Sean's Vengeance headset is pretty good too, I have used it a few times. I also have an old Steel Series Siberia V2 that is a really nice headset but they are purple so you may not want those if you're not a fan of the color. And shame on you if you're not! :P

I played MW2 on my old laptop with a Centrino Core 2 2.53ghz, 4gb memory and a GeForce 9600m GS so I'm sure you can play with your system but I don't know anything about Arma3. I think my FPS was usually around 40-50 on MW2.

I'm your friendly neighborhood wookiee so yes. If you see me just don't begin a sentence with "put" or "drop" because I'll start shooting before you can follow it up with "your hands up" or "your weapons on the ground" :o

Welcome to the game and the forum! Gather around the campfire and I will tell you a story about the dreaded creature that inhabits the the wilderness of Chernarus. A creature so fearsome and deadly that her name is only spoken in whispers. Legend has it that the creature has a massive hoard of cans of beans somewhere in the deepest and darkest area of the wilderness and one time a bandit stole several cans from this treasure trove of beany goodness and carried them back to his camp so he could share them with his fellow hooligans. Unfortunately he had no idea what kind of horrible fate was about to befall them all that very night when the creature came lumbering out of the woods to reclaim her precious beans and left a trail of blood and dismembered corpses in her wake as she returned to her home moments later. That creature is known as the......... It is said that if you should stumble upon this beast in the woods, your only chance of survival is to offer her a can of beans and hope that she doesn't dismember you. If you don't have any beans then may Jebus have mercy on your soul. :o

Problem solved. It was disabled in the BIOS as TheChris suspected. :o I told Sean to let me handle it if he gets another virus. lol I don't even understand how he manages to get them.

Yeah, if I see those or if I see someone running around naked, I always get ready to start shooting.

A little over two weeks ago and I was looking around in the buildings for supplies when three people found me. I only had a mossin at the time so I didn't have a chance. Before I died, I did say "Go ahead and strike me down and I'll become more powerful than you can ever imagine." :lol: I will find those three eventually and the consequences will be severe. Wookiees hold grudges. :o

Yep, your connection is way more important than your processor speed.

I've been playing a little while now. My first day actually went really well. I had no idea what I was doing to still managed to not die. :o Now I'm a pretty good sniper, solid in close quarters, pretty much have the map memorized and rarely die. :thumbsup: The thing you need to always remember about Day Z is that right now combat is more about getting the drop on your enemy than having traditional FPS skills. If you shoot first you will probably win the fight, unless there is a hit detection issue or your aim is really bad. :P

Vista. This is our older laptop. Sean mostly uses it for watches videos when he isn't on the PC. I have my own laptop so I don't use it at all. Anyway, its an old Asus N80vm with a GeForce 9600m GS, intel duo-core (2.53) , 4 gb ram and Vista, Unfortunately system restore wasn't turned on, I already checked that.

Argh... So Sean managed to get a virus on our laptop and attempted to remove it himself while I wasn't home with some pretty bad results. :facepalm: He doesn't really know as much about removing viruses so I wish he would have let the resident nerd of the house deal with it when I came back. :unsure: He did manage to get it removed but holy Jebus.... It was a mess. He had disabled several services that I had to fix and there is absolutely no sound at all. The only thing that will even show up in the settings is the NVIDIA HDMI Output. I have it set to show disabled devices but nothing shows up. Nothing shows up in the Device Manager either except for the NVIDIA High Definition Audio. I tried reinstalling both the Realtek Audio drivers and the Nvidia drivers but it hasn't helped. The RealTek won't even show up at all. I tried plugging my headset in and it won't show up either. I even tried plugging it into speakers. And when I click on the Recording tab it says "no audio devices are installed." :blink:
