I've gotten that message before, as well as all my friends who played on the same server as me. It's just a server message, not an actual player.

Was playing on hardcore a couple of days ago, with a friend of mine. We decided to head to Berezino to find some pvp action, and we sure did find it. First thing that happens after we get there is me being killed. My friend kills one of them, grabs an akm, and eventually we head down the the center of it all. We kill a couple of guys by the apartments, one sniper on the top floor, (i grab a mosin at this point,) and we keep running around until we head for the pub. After exchanging a few shots by the doors, my friend gets killed, and I chase the killer upstairs. As I turn the corner, my legs get shot, and I drop to the ground. I crawl around the hallway and get a few shots in, and I realize there are two of them in there. One guy with a mosin, and one with an m4. I manage to take both of them out after a couple of minutes, and after grabbing the m4, I look for something to heal my leg, but I find nothing. So I crawl downstairs, and as I exit the door, a guy comes behind me with a shotgun, but misses with what must have been his only shell, and I turn around and shoot him in the face. After that, I crawl around the corner and hide in a bush, and a guy comes running up to me. I prepare to shoot him, but he starts talking, and I get him to grab an axe of my friends body, to get me a splint. After getting my legs fixed up, we head inside and gear up. He grabs a mosin, I grab a backpack full of medical gear and m4 mags, and we head outside, when a freshspawn comes over to us and starts talking. I handcuff him and kill another freshspawn that comes up to us, (just for fun,) and we just hang out for a bit, talking and making jokes. Eventually we start hearing shots again, coming from the apartment, so we head over to take them out. However, as I enter the door, I see a guy aiming at me, and I fire a few shots, but he takes me down after a few shots. No idea what happened to the others after that. All in all, it probably took 30-45 minutes to do all this. EDIT: That's the best thing I've done, as in my greatest achievement so far in this game. Worst thing I've done, was probably a couple of days before that, when I was playing with the same friend from the last story. We ran into these two guys, and decide to roll with them for a while. They seemed like cool guys, but over skype, we decide to take them out when we get the chance, because we were only there for some fun pvp/being assholes. So, we run out of Berezino, and as we get to this tiny river, they both go to drink. I charge one of them with my axe, while my friend fires an arrow at the other guy, and hits him right in the head. We didn't really have a reason, it was just fun. Banditry is much more fun if you get them to trust you, you know. ;)

So, there I was, running into the ATC tower at the newly remodeled North East Airfield, when suddenly, I see a dead body on the stairs. Naturally, I carefully look up the stairs, and what do I see but a player in full military gear, camping the stairs with SKS in hand, waiting for the next unlucky sucker to go for a loot trip. Being the fast thinker that I am, I immediately yelled "I don't want to die", and ran the heck outta there! I got as far as Krasnostav before I realized I could not let such activities go unpunished. I turned around, ran to the airfield, and I crawled to the ladder on the back. As I step on the roof, I realize I did not chamber a round in my sporter (which was my one and only gun at the time). However, if I did so up there, the camper would hear me reloading. I decided I had to do it anyway, so after I got eyes on him, I reloaded. He immediately started looking around, and for a moment I was afraid he'd move upstairs and find me. Luckily, that didn't happen. He moved half-way down the stairs, so that he could watch both the door, and the stairs coming from the roof. "Shit", I thought to myself. "Now there's no way I can punish him!". But, after sitting there in silence for 4-6 minutes, he moved back up, and I could sneak down without him seeing me. I made my way down the stairs, stopping to get a shot through the steps, and then he started turning around slowly. Just as I got within his field of vision, I popped of a shot and hit him straight in the eye, successfully knocking him out, but not killing him. After switching all his gear with my own, I bandaged him, and left him there. I had no reason to kill him, as I could easily get out of there before he woke up. So, here I am now, all geared up, while the camper has to start over. Well, maybe not from scratch. I hope you enjoy my sporter, wherever you are! :) Stay cool!

Seeing as it's pretty much the only thing to do in this game at the moment, (except for pvp, if you like that stuff,) I agree with you. After a while, it's just good to start over again, you know?

I like to carry an axe on my back, but when it comes to fighting, I prefer using a combat knife or a hammer. Much easier to control the fight, rather than having an axe swinging everywhere.

I played a "good guy" for so long, it got boring. Now I play more survival style. I won't KOS people, but I'm not afraid to kill without more reason than "I want your gear" either. I stabbed a man in the head with a screwdriver yesterday, because I wanted his riders jacket. A few days ago, I shot a man in the head because he didn't want to talk to me. Sometimes it's fun not being the good guy. :P

Dude, seriously. Let me introduce you to my friend, his name is punctuation. He wants to help you with your typing, and I think you should let him. Seriously though, at least try to use a comma every once in a while. Proper punctuation makes it much easier to read posts, and make sense of them.

I've used a knife for, like, forever. The ashwood stick is also pretty good, even against players. I've defeated several players with axes, using only my ashwood stick. :)

What kind of people let their kids have such easy access to guns? God damn it, people are idiots .. EDIT: And the guy teaching his son to shoot, even though he's so young he probably couldn't hold it on his own ... Some people need a good slap to the face.

Everyone knows those times. If you play alone, or in a group, it doesn't matter. Everyone knows these situations. When you have the possibility to kill them, or to just let them go. Their life is in your hands. I just came back from looting the NW airfield tents, on experimental hardcore. Went in a tent, and on my way out I spotted a player standing in the opening of another tent, with his back to me. My first instinct was to back away into the tent and hide, which turned out to be a smart move, as his friend was keeping a watch around, though he didn't seem to have seen me. I watched them loot the first line of tents, before starting on the same line I was in. Now they were both looting, going into different tents. I watch them through the windows, trying to decide if I should kill them or not. I could easily have taken out one of them as he entered the tent I was in. THe other one could be a problem. Besides, I try to play friendly when I can. But being found by two strangers, one with a wolf mask, didn't appeal to me. So I watch them for a little longer, wait until they're both inside a tent, and sprint over to one of the tents they'd already looted. I heard no gunshots, so I figured out I was safe. So I stop around the corner of the next tent, and keep watching them for a bit. They've both entered the same tent at that time, with their backs to me. I could've taken them out easily with my crossbow from where I was. Or take out the first with an arrow to the head, before I rush up and finish the second guy with my sawn-off. I decided not to, and ran in the opposite direction. But this brings me to the point of this thread. Think about how many times players could've been watching you, while you've been looting towns without being too careful. Maybe people have been just a few meters away from you, while you've been eating your beans, keeping their aim on you while trying to decide if you should live, or die? You never know who is watching. Your life is in their hands. Think about it. EDIT: If anyone have any good stories where do exactly this, please post. EDIT2: I am fairly sure their in-game names were "buba" and "Clevery". If anyone with those names are reading this, and recognize themselves from my story, please let me know. :P

What are you on about? The crossbow is one of the best weapons in the mod.

The two story thing! That's what I was talking about in my post, where the one guy was watching out for his friend. :) Good story! I hope that last bandit died as well. Your sister did a good job! :D

Today I've checked out 5-6 police stations, and 2-3 medical centers. All on the same server, with several server restarts inbetween. The server never had more than 6 people online, most of the time there were maybe two guys on other than me and my friend. Anyway, I didn't seem to find any loot in any of them. This was on near empty servers, in areas that hadn't been looted (unless someone actually closed all doors in all towns after looting). Anyone else noticed this, or is it just me having bad luck, somehow? :P

If you'd just aimed properly, you could've gotten at least 3 of them without ruining their gear. I mean, for gods sake, that first guy had his back to you, and you shot him in the backpack instead of aiming for his head, which you had all the time in the world to do. Other than that, well done.
