Umm I amnot sure- I have notseen a christmas tree yet this year & I found this small gift box inside a utility shed on the western outskirts of elektro. (where all the garages and large vehicle repair buildings.)

If it is any consolidation I lost a 6 tower elevated base protected by a maze of barbed wire and metal gates, inside this base was enough supplies to build 4 new bases, repair 4 cars, supply 12 clan members with full kits, a stone oven 4 canopy tents 1 improvised shelter 8 barrels, 36 crates, 1 sea chest, 2 generators, 6 flood lights, multiple xmas lights, 1 flag pole, 3 vehicles, all nicely tucked away inside a small ruins outside of kravostav next to the railroad... not very far from kemensk military base. it became too well known and players kept b-lining for it after they respawned.... I had ghillies, blazes, ak-74's, tundras, a big garden! (my poor garden)... But I dint have any NVG storage... but then again- I had a flag pole so things did not despawn after a server reboot. I am out of the base building buisness for now... For I am a new me! For now on- I will just WALK trails and enjoy the buity and do what I like to do the most in Dayz- and that is to find AWSOME scenes with the weather system and graphics and take screenshots of them and upload them to steam. "I am content" BUT... ( always a but) I would love to have more area to hike around with new scenory to discover, maybe a beautiful water fall with a nice ledge over looking a blue lagoon, in which it drains into, a metropolis with blocks and blocks of empty streets as far as the eye can see- *waves hand accross his vision* filled with infected just daring you to enter- and a random infected hord that roams the world searching for the one ring! All inside a 740 square KM map expansion!

Official server BR 4-002?, Todays Patch? NVG storage? Why am I always the last to know of these things!

Yup. You might want to think about getting a 600 w PSU though if your running an AMD With that video card- you can run dayz on 3 monitors with surround vision BTW. (Just thought I would throw that in there) Once 3 monitors you never go back!

food should not directly effect your actual health meter. it should effect your bodies regeneration of cells (Mitosis and apoptosis) & your energy level. Hunger does not kill you, organ failure kills you. although hunger hurts like a M***** ******. So indirectly- it should cease the regeneration of blood and health and constantly gnaw at your stamina. and your charector should complain alot about it, making it difficult to sneak around; in consequently agro infected. + or - various programming limitations and degree. (shrug) Regardless of the ultimate ending descision/result, I still love this damn game.

I am a very experience hunter/gather. I avoid PVP because I suck at it. I walk everywhere and I am familiar with the mechanics of the game and where to look for certian items. and after I die and repawn I AM finding it difficult to find food alot of the times. Depending on where Ispawn. If I spawn at elektro Im set because there is always a lamb just north of the power plant.all I need then is a knife and with the new update I dont even need that.. But yes dehydration will kill a living person very quickly depending on the conditions. Even when cold dehydration will take your life before starvation as the body will tend to start eating its own fat, muscle and bones to stay alive. I do appreciate the challenge this is presenting, and lets be honest dying as a new spawn is not that big of a deal unless you are playing with friends and die just meters in front of finaly finding them. and yeah the walking factor is a little high in comparison to the jogging especialy for hydration... But after reading some of the posts in this thread, I do not find it acceptable that warmth will give you the freedom to run accross the map eating only one tomato. and also (as one example) rice should not hydrate you. and some other foods have an unrealistic proportional effects of hydration when consumed. HAHAHAHAHA True- How True Low pop server do serve as bases for high pop server Conflict... For example, when I had my clan in Dayz. We would choose a low pop to recap after we got killed (of course this was before the randomized spawn in between servers) then head to a high pop for PVP. the same may be taking into account here but with a few twists- One persistent loot stashes. these stashes may contain anything if not everything for a high volume group to come to after death so they can hop again to a high pop server to pvp after the "kit" back up. this may add to the lack of resources if several groups use the server for this purpose. Funny thing is, I ran accross several pairs of pliers last night by Kamensk military base. I would give you the official server number but I forget it off the top of my head. another thing you could try is to locate some other player bases and loot them... You can do a google search for "Dayz heat map" and get an idea of where to look for these bases. some additional tips for base hunting is to think like them, you want resources (water, food) generaly by a military base for loot and possible helicopter crashes, you also want to be in short distance to player respawn locations, lastly someplace people never go and usualy in deep forests. recently though I have been noticing more and more bases being built inside pre existing buildings- check barns and usualy just on the outskirts of a major city but near a water source... On a personal and unforgiving developer side note of constant barrage and pestering without ending--- I wished the map was 740 sq KM bigger.... Hint hint

You can take a barrel with you to another server- you just have to have it in your hands when you exit and relog into the new server. also I am not sure how pliers (besides installing barbed wire) will help you build a base... oh I guess you do for a gate... my appologies what you need are nails, a saw, a hammer or hatches, a shovel, a rope for the kits. a flag if you dont want items to despawn while left outside a persistent container. But yeah- if you are trying to move your base to another server- you would be better off just making a new base in the server you wish to play on.

It just started doing this to be honest. They are working on it- and it also could be an inside engine part of code broken as well.

I kinda still like the idea of a seccond stamina bar- (daily pool of energy) where your hunger will deteriate this bar instead of your health & while starving it wont reduce your health but dissallow any regeneration (health or blood) untill the charector has gotten some food into its belly Damnit I think I got off track here... But with movement speed and calorie degeneration.. umm yeah well a seccond stamina bar would dissallow intant death (within 1 days time) as long as you dont get hurt and stress your body past it max health allowance. i.e. Heart failure

However they are calculating it, your right- the walking and food consumption seems rather off Plus or minus in some regards... The biggest thing I can think of is the tax in may place onto the engine like it used to when falling from height... This game is soo complex with all the variables and attributes of all these environmental and character calculations to simulate real conditions. I hate to starve when crossing the street to find another apple in the next door neighbors yard, but I also dont want the game to lag for a few secconds at a time on the way there because I stepped off a curb from the street.

hmmm.. What about being wet? Or how much your carrying ? Up hill or downhill? if your sick or not, or if your starving or thisty? Freezing or Burning up? In the snow or through water? Swimming or in the rain? or trudging through mud with a full stomach or an empty stomach? Mitosis and aptosis are believed to be governed by the individuals metabolism which is different for every one or even the oxygen intake into the lungs which can be altered by altitudes Even the persons attitude can effect this number. i have 6,441 hours in DayZ & I walk everywhere. I dont jog or run unless i have to. I have noticed this metabolic consumption changing from session to session between updates. I believe it is still being tweaked, and I am sure every addition they make to the game- this scale has to be revisited and altered. Your information is spot on as far as i am concerned as long as it dont tax the game- Do you remember when you would fall from a distance and the game actualy took up to 3 secconds to calculate the results from damage to a broken leg? I guess the prominent question would be how much detail is placed into the current programming and if those charts you posted can be used in detail. as a reference sure, but i think they may have somekind of research into it. so another question is what are your sources? I dunno and there is soo many variables to the actual metabolic consumption that if would be difficult to become so detailed, even the height of the charector could add and substract to those statistics. I am not a modder so I do not know or understand how it works- I just know why it works and the representation to the player inside the game in a feasable yet simple understanding. Heres a classic scenario, you have 80 lbs in your mountian backpack sprinting down hill. You see a tree in your path but you fail to move in time, in dayz the charector stops and runs in place- where in actuality you will be needing a ambulance to remove your face from the bark, some broken ribs, a black eye, scrapes & bruises, not to mention picking up all the stuff that scattered everywhere from inside your back pack. The inertia from the weight your carrying willpropel you forward from a walk to a jog, so actualy jogging with alot of weight might be less taxing on your body, doubtfull but the first set of numbers you posted seems rather more down to earth... But if this was to be revised, I guess weight would be a number one critical multiplier of the whole scale. Not to discredit your input- I personaly like it or I would not have responded- your numbers look good to me but like I said- I like to walk everywhere.... If that matters. On a side note: When it comes night time, I like to camp, and if the whole day walking does not make me hungry by nightfall I have nothing to do....

Some people take it a step further by cheating and act is if there gonna win some malaculant prize in the end or join some fraternity in college if they get a good score But in the end you can take comfort in a couple things. 1. You can feel sorry for the player that HAS to play unfairly, in a VIDEO GAME! (cmon - He has to be able to get a kill or two in sometime) 2. U can vizualize yourself patting him on the head and congratulations on a job well done, for a false sence of self esteem. 3. Praise him for rookie of the year for actualy getting to the point he is at of cheating without cheating his way there BUT never know though- he might have stolen his mommas credit card to purchase the badly needed help. 4. In the end, try and learn something from it. wether deserved or not. for even if the lesson is to quit playing- it is something you can exclaim you have overcome and had happen to you in conversation. All-in-All. The main reason people cheat is because they are not adaptable at playing games... Makes me feel sorry for them just posting this, So you got to let them have a win once and a while. Poor people, Just because of that fact alone, keeps me content. and it is Fact. Never know- he might be mentally or physically challenged. More then not he prolly is just not good at games and wants to fit in the best they can. this means your levels above- without saying a word.

A true DDOS attack is rare. It is a very expensive and costly operation to perform. It is used in cooperate sabotage. and the penalty by law is VERY SEVERE. A true DDOS is when say- a popular application has released an update- say - CCleaner. and that update is passed through various websites like c-net and filedownload etc.. when some entity is attempting to ddos they will intercept one of these updates (has to be a popular application in the tens of thousands of downloads) and places onto that update a Virus (ddos) that sits on your system and does virtualy nothing. until the creator(s) of the ddos software activate it via the internet by some un-used port all accross the internet depicting a certain URL to flood. When you have 100,000 's of computers flooding a certain direct URL it will render it useless if not knock the complete DNS pathway down to the address. The unsuspecting flooders (the people that installed the ccleaner update) that whos system attacks the unknown URL systems will act as if Windows is performing a virus scan or an update or anything rather but extremly taxing to your systems performance while online. You will have no idea that you are contributing to an attack on another internet server or even a data center. the ramifications of getting caught creating and implimenting a DDOS is roughly 20 years in prison and a lifetime restraining order on him versus any electronic equipment or telecommunications hardware, Punitive damages and fines ranging into the hundreds of thousands of dollars, if not national security issues and even charges as attempting to collapse a nations economy or scientific research educational centers. To hire someone to perform a DDOS attack would be in the range of $500,000. If someone ever tells you they are gonna DDOS you,they have absolutly no flipping idea what they are talking about and about 80% of the time you have nothing to worry about. but I want to make sure you understand that there are plenty of promgrams and websites that offer these services at a miminal effect, and you should always take a hacking threat from someone seriously. most of the time they are just spoiled kids with access to there daddies script kitty stash, but not always. To blame the game for something like that is non-sence. if that person got access to your wifi or home network, you have no one to blame but your self and lack of education therof. I dont mean to be mean but its true.

But it is this line of thinking that are getting everyone so uppitty about the food consumption, temp, weather & illness. what all modifications is there on food actual in the game mechanics? If it was me- and I wasnt gonna restrict my programming by circumventing cheaters, I would also include a 2nd stamina bar- one that is your overall days of energy or have that value based on the food consumed, possibly... But the more detailed you get the easier it is for a cheater. every aspect has the potential of being exploited. This is like the difference of seeing a newspaper in black and white or seeing the newspaper as red. in other words- there is a large area between the two, so how is one to know if its even the actual game mechanics if there is not an indicator for it? For example: Here is an easy to explain but immersive breaking way of putting it.. If you open your inventory screen and mouse hover over the vital in question. a pop up menu will appear and detail all the modifications effecting the stat. THATS basicaly what I amsaying, but to do it immersivly and detailed as possibleto form a player to game understanding.

I am seeking a change to the movement speed after you close the inventory screen- Moving with the inventory open is dope, I like except for one thing- When you close the inventory screen in freshes the movement speed to jogging. It does not do this if you do not move in the inventory screen, but if you touch one of the movement keys & close it. it starts jogging again. Which is fine if your jogging to begin with, but if your walking it changes it to jogging.... Its not a big thing, but it has gotten me killed once, attracted infected a number of occasions and breaks immersivness every time, let alone scared the hell out of myself a few times. BTW- I walk everywhere I go in dayz. I run only after cows or crossing a rather evillooking open field. or if someone is shooting at me Or if there is a ratherlarge number of infected running at me or otherwise in a hurry --- HAHAHA or have a car/truck

YES YOU DO GET SICK FROM A COLD BY BEING WET!. Getting wet causes your body temp to lower drastically especialy in the wind, your immune system is thusly diverted to compensate- allowing normaly blocked viruses to enter the body and cause sickness. But I will agree with you on one thing, Starving doesnt kill you, its the organ failure that kills you from lack of nuetrients the body uses to continues to replace and regenerate the organs ceases and they break down (sorta like having a flat tire). it is an excruciating way to die. painful would be putting it mildly. lack of energy to move or even speak. and another thing is if your on the bring of starving to death and you slam a bunch of liquids- chances are that alone will stop your ❤ . but to reach that stage of starvation would be a long and painful experience. If you dont believe me- try Fasting for 3 days, just on a consumption of water and lettuce. I have toyed with the idea of lack of food in this forums before- instead of causing health degradation, that it would just cease the regenerative ability to your health and blood until you get some nutrients in you, but should also degrade the stamina bar over time and after several in game days with no food should cause heart failure. Dayz is missing one element here- Sugar Sugar has in important role in the human body, insulin can keep you warm when its cold out and can help you cool down when its hot out by causing the body to release moisture which in turn is cooled by the breeze, as a side effect will also increase your thirst in the heat that can cause dehydration and make you sweat inside a insulated coat while performing exerting exercise that can also cause hypothermia. You NEVER ever want to sweat in below freezing conditions. if you ever notice that your sweating in that climate, you need to slow it down a notch and dry off as soon as you can.

I just died of starvation... It was an interesting story.... I was walking along navoya patrovka and kept going past it, had some badly damaged pants so I was freezing the whole time, was just approaching devils castle and was attacked by wolves, so I logged out (in my defence I was far from anything to take cover in and only had 4 bullets in my 1911) anyway, I logged back in bandaged my bites and was starting to hit yellow once I reached devils castle. finding no food I continued on when I herd a rather pissed off growl... this growl was attached to a bear and it rushed me- I discharged my 4 bullets at the bear but it was already ontop of me and *SMACK* knocked my ass out, it actualy let me live and I low crawled a few feet away and bandaged as soon as I could. low crawled away from the incedent, and started jogging northwest untill i came up to zaprudnoe. I was in the red at this time... a number of infected attacked me, the last one was infront of a greenhouse I was praying was a can of soda. but just as I got to the door another infected attacked killed him and WAALAA a can of peaches. (learning my lesson from opening a food can while it is still in the infecteds inventory i threw it out on the ground and opened it with my axe, half way through eating it, another infected attacked me, so I stopped eating crouch walked just inside the greenhouse and closed the door just as it smacked me... well I thought i closed the door.. I got a red text in the center of my screen with a counter on it then pow main menu. I dropped to desktop realquick to do a internet speed check and when that was done I switched back to the game to find the game automaticaly logged me back into the server and I was standing back outside the greenhouse with an axe in my hand- no can of peaches no infected around and I died.
