Any one else having trouble connecting to the official servers? For some reason my game launcher and in game server browser see's them, reports them being active with players and responding to ping requests,but when I try to connect the client acts as if I never even clicked on join...?

You will see the tent packaging inside the tent on the right, on the ground,looking at it should prompt the action. Make surenothing is in the inventory by opening your inventory, mouse hovering over the tents inventory space and scrolling down to the bottom. car tents hold alot of stuff... iof nothing is in it, only other thing I can thinkof is make sure nothing is on it like a camo net? Im not surepast that point

Private servers are for advanced players anyway- So Learning how to play on official servers is the way to go, but when you personaly reach your point of frustration or limitation in asperations, would be the time to find a private server. Now that Dayz can be Modded also opens up a whole new world of fascinating ideas and approaches. There is more then one way to skin a cat. Personaly for me- I am waiting for an overhaul to the color and lighting systems mods to enter into the workshop Because my favorite thing about dayz is the buitiful scenory and taking screen shots of them. Skyrim is an awsome example of this... Some really cool stuff.

Wether its a mechanic or not, is a decent question. But if none of the other items recieved from sick player does NOT get you sick- Then it is BOTH.Meaning they are testing it with the helmet. Once they get it to work correctly with the helmet, then they will address it to all other items. soat the current state- it is a bug but a intentional bug- if that makes sence? (shrug) That is my guess.

I never thought in 10 years that I would welcome 7 wolves that ambushed me in the middle of the forest (without making any warning howls) as much as I did a few minutes ago... I think it kept me from tearing my own head off.. Seriously. who ever placed the coughing and sneezing occurance levels in the game, please- Smoke a joint and play the game for 3 hours sick with the cold- in the middle of black forest- without a compass- in a rain storm that does not clear up- Starving (so to make you constantly make fires and cook a resavoire of meat, but only one at a time because some asshat is hunting you with an SKS(that dont make any noise as he walks around except for the occasional shot from his rifle letting you know he is getting closer) Then the server reboots and you come back facing an unknown direction under the same weather conditions. If you think about this scenerio, you will find a very agitated player at hour 3. so from illistrating this horrible rendition of reoccurance, I have 3 bullet points- 1. Coughing and sneezing are out of proportion and might increase actual suicide rates accross the statistics of DayZ players 2. Wolves that sneak up on you (as welcome as they were in the situation) would be ok if it was an actual game mechanic. 3. Players that sneak up on you without making any footstep sound with boots securly on there feet. Please increase distance of sound traveling from traversing brush and possibly even making wildlife start like birds flying away like the chicken. In the end- the wolves won my life, to my greatest relief. "Dayzquil"

Hackers ruin ALL games they touch--- It is like a virus. Just do yourself and the gaming industry some time and one favor- Dont hack yourself to achieve "fair play" just know you are better in more ways then one and try and remember it IS just a game. Believe me I hate cheaters and rich people more then you will ever know. but becoming one will not solve your problems, it will just create new ones with more consequences.

Catching a cold you get from being cold- by coming into contact with gear that was in a warn location for a length of time is not a logical diffusion of trouble shooting the "cause" of a symptom. In this game it should be more of sufficient to contract a living virus through close contact (living or dead) or by the cold weather without adequate warmth. to just mysterously getsick from someones helmet when they where not sick after giving it to you or by finding it in a car 10 days later should "not" be a thing. Just my opinion. Now if you got sick from recieving an item from a SICK person- then ok- I can buy that... then I understand what happened. BUT continouesly getting sick from the item carried after you cured the ailment on yourself is not feasable

Just remember- People bitch the most about things they really love when they see something not right about it... not because they do not like it- but because they like it so much that they are willing to spend the extra bit of there time to explain what they see wrong with it. If you want to see who and how many people are working on Dayz, load the game to the main menu and click on "credits" If you have not realized- the game Is STILL in production, and adding 2 and 2 together you would understand that the production is running out of money. NOW- How they manage that money, would be more of the people you might want to bring to the forfront- not the devs. In total- Either wait and see for 2-3 more years and maybe get livonia to help out, or help out constructivly in the forums with (not new content) but simple and logical solutions to problems found.. Not as easy as it sounds so it may be a HELL of a challenge for you to complete if you can.

Im doing everything in MY power to fight these mental midgets people have mistakenly labeled as hackers! Hackers dont cheat- They hack into systems. Cheaters cheat because they lack the education to form there own solutions and when presented with the oportunity to create one- they are left lost and alone, so they resort to someone else to give them the solution they need in return for money.

Now if a base was a spawn point- I could understand your frustration.. but it is not and actualy serves no real purpose whatsoever in Dayz. Limited by your imagination of course.

OK I amgoingtostart with a question, but i realize this is a forums and since I dont wantto wait for an answer- I amgoing to answer for you. You said you played dayz in the early dayz? how did you hide your loot then? thats right a tent... how did you defend the tent? thats right you hid it. How did you hide it? in some trees! Now inthis dayz.. you have wooden crates.. these wooden crates can be buried... Bases cannot be defended- it should ONLY be used for a place to go for immediate and present protection from danger only NOT for storing loot, keeping your base locked is an open inventation to get it broken, so when you log out- unlock your base. PS 4 sticks and a rope make a tower fence kit One thing I learned with Conan Exiles- Is there is NEVER a completly defendable base- The only thing you can do is to makeitinconvientient for them to enter... the more inconvient you make it the lesslikely they will be to break in. think about that and try some of the thoughts that run accross your mind and report backhere with your findings and what you did.

How about "REVENGE!"

Thermal scopes? I know escape from tarkov is the first game I have seen with them in it, But I also know that Dayz has some of the best innovations in a First person shooter hands down.

PS- Just because "hot food" would change the removal of a virus, should not be a indication that having a virus makes you more hungry! Like cold weather- Cold weather DOES NOT MAKE YOU HUNGRY. In fact eating in a cold enviroment makes you even more cold because the body diverts energy to the digestion system. in my experience cold weather is an appetite supressant. Eat more sugar in the cold to keep the body warm- I worked construction for 17 years... Cold weather is just a thing. -5 degree F. all day long... Eating will make it seem even colder then it was before, but is soon gone (10-15 minutes) after going back to work. The cold weather does not make your body digest food any faster then it already digests. Hard work will, but the cold- Not in my experience. Hot weather is the same, except you burn up water quicker because the body perspires to keep itself cool, Sugar in hot weather will make you sweat like a train, If your body starts perspiring in below freezing temps and you start sweating, you need to remove clothing to cool off quickly or risk becoming sick from a virus that found a way past the immune system because of cold agglutinin. the immune system attacks red blood cells (cold antibody hemolytic anemia) or hyperthermia. tweeking the body rapidly between hot and cold temps is not a good thing and can also cause pneumonia... THEN you will have a good reason to take the antibiotics. SO what you guys at Dayz are looking for here is SUGAR not Food.

Is this a thing? Umm I am srry but just because someone else gets a cold does not mean I am going to get it from them. Especially if my body has already been subjected and developed an immunity to it. The human body evolves. But of course antibiotics is not going to cure a virus. Antibiotics cures infections. And this mechanic is not fair for someone trying to trouble shoot a medical condition or in any way going to be on the scope of a "cause" beside the game being buggy... The sneezing and coughing could be a great number of things and should go away in time in game, I like the feature ALOT and the sneezing and coughing is great- but after 1 or two days it should go away and have NO CURE except for maybe earlier removal of the parameter by warmth and hot food, and possibly by vitamins. As far as my limited medical education knows- Once your body developes an immunity to a virus, that virus no longer is a threat, sorta like the bubonic plague.

I would pay per month to play the game... This is why- The added income would/could be used to pay for active admins The added income could be used to hire additional Software Cheating Media access control detection/ban The PPM servers would be secure in that enviroment. Cheaters will pay per month to have there cheats constantly upgraded in relay with the game updates, why would people that just want fair game pay for a server to offer protection from such- also Some people buy cheats TO HAVE A FAIR GME, Why would they not thusly switch over to a pay per month server to have a fair game by means of the intended experience? The Title holder could set up some of these servers- 24 hour (work from home) job for a couple admins each, have additional "algorithm" software,A bot to have access to the API and fetch and recieve notifications and other preprogrammed notifications and statsto the admin apon request. and other such tools could be made available to the human administrator. The server would have a dynamic password or connecting requirments demanding a connection to your bohemia account in wich the subscription was made (much like other pay-per-month games) say the price was 9.99 a month. as of this post- steam is indicating - CURRENTLY 16,232 players; peak 28,916 players in DayZ for today. with my analytical forcast of how many would pay per month... LOL I failed analytics so I dont know. But I would give an optimistical number because it would be my idea... so Someone else would have to do that for me. When I look at the server listing for Dayz when I log in, it does not reflect 16,000 players currently, so I am either missunderstanding the steam information or I am grossly missjudging the amount of servers all these players are utilizing, but if that is the case, and 16,000 players currently, and 5% were to pay for access to an Official Dayz Monitored server- umm that would be $7,992 per month budget. (shrug)
