..and YES, I manually ejected the first round immediately after the video was stopped.
-
Something to consider is that my shots would sound like theirs making it harder to distinguish me as a non-friendly once shit hits the fan; and if i won somehow, I'd be able to use the rounds I find on their corpses. I could make a good case for the M4A1 too, big magazines, carbine better for close quarters, relatively common in the US.. The SKS would continue to work in the absence of maintenance. Its an age-old argument but not to be overlooked. Lets keep this thread about the inaccuracy of this gun as it currently is in the game.
-
Of course.
-
I unloaded it after the video, either way its no big deal. Long guns and military curio don't require special permits, loaded or otherwise. Just don't drive around with one ;)
-
Notice I didn't even touch on the fact that the bayonette is fixed and retractable, not to mention they ALL were assembled with one. There'd basically be no reason whatsoever for you to find an SKS on this map without it. Eventually they'll be functional, so I'll wait til then. Hopefully they're already working on it.

They can add content and switch it on and off as needed based on bugs. Like the Ruger animations, they're there, but dormant until they need it. People are already saying the paint isn't working on the axe and the B95, so they probably pushed it through with a lot of stuff shut off. I'm suddenly acutely aware of why they delayed the Stable patch.. I can't imagine the flack they would have gotten if somebody's can didn't roll away like its supposed to!

Pending Changelog: Experimental Branch: 0.42.116002
Mr Jizz replied to rocket's topic in News & Announcements
Thats the "CZ75" broseph. They probably couldn't call it that for copyright reasons.. The better question is "20 round mag"?... standard CZ75 for police issue is 15 rounds.. that means you found/they made it a high-cap mag .. Muy bueno  -
Not typo, likely a copyright issue. You don't sit in a room full of gunporn-game developers in Prague and mispell CZ75..

Has to be copyright issues. 1911 is a format, whereas CZ75 is a specific model of CZ's catalog. Same reason for the Ruger MkII being called the Amphibitron or whatever. -
New Guns In DayZ The Colt 1911, Sporter 22 And The CR 75
Mr Jizz replied to leefriendfield's topic in General Discussion
I actually own one of these.. use it for small game; SUPER accurate. Literally shot a rabbit between its eyes once. There is no scope option. No rails, no mounts. If it did it would be custom. -
Amen brotha. I signed up for it to be a little buggy, its OK, ..really. Expermental should be like, time-bomb-buggy. Experimental is really the new Alpha Stable. I think the problem is that they unexpectedly have a real product on their hands, and at 1.6Million copies for $30 bucks a pop, they have a status quo to maintain. A bad patch on Stable, despite the Alpha reminder can generate A LOT of dislike and potentially turn people away.

The Ruger MKII Is Coming, But Whats It Like?
Mr Jizz replied to leefriendfield's topic in General Discussion
Reminds me of this scene in Casino.. Joe Pesci is actually using an even smaller .22 pistol round, but same 'cranial pinball' effect. The problem is that its nearly impossible to sneak up on someone in this game. Anyone with some sense about them will hear you or see you before you could really pull this off.. the flip side is that you could fling 10 rounds at someone while they're still recovering from the recoil of their Mosin or SKS; M4A1 not so much. -
The Ruger MKII Is Coming, But Whats It Like?
Mr Jizz replied to leefriendfield's topic in General Discussion
I'll be polite enough to not call you a moron, primarily because not everyone has the privilege of growing up around hunters and military buffs. Let me help.. If you pinched off just the jacketed slug from each bullet they would certainly be similar in size. Both are small 'caliber' because the diameter of the round is .22" (inches/english) and 5.56 (millimeters/metric - nearly identical to .223" Remington) respectively. The difference is the amount of powder, or propellant. There are several factors that dictate overall muzzle velocity and accuracy, but hopefully this image gives a clear idea of why the 5.56 NATO (~.223 Remington) is a small round with a tactical punch. Versus our little friend there which is better for biathlons and varmints. 5.56 NATO Muzzle velocity = 700-1000 m/s .22LR Muzzle velocity = 300-400 m/s -
The Ruger MKII Is Coming, But Whats It Like?
Mr Jizz replied to leefriendfield's topic in General Discussion
.22LR is a fine round for survival. Its not a tactical round, and despite the supersonic muzzle velocity, it would be very difficult to drop a player with a single round. This goes without saying, but tactical gear like helmets and ballistic vests would have a substantially higher survival-rate against .22LR, than a military or hunting round. Perfect for small game, and very personal 1-on-1 situations. PROs low recoil means accurate follow upsmall physical size of the round should mean you can carry 50-60 rounds per inventory slotvery low noise + accurate shots will make it a good round for clearing zombies without giving away your position from hundreds of meters aroundCONs small round will likely amount to nothing but a nuisance to would-be targets beyond 25 metersrelatively small clip makes it a poor secondary in lieu of the FNX or Pythonunlikely to allow attachments such as RDS or flashlight. -
I wanted to start a little discussion, hopefully a nice resource for the developers to gauge interest, make suggestions and have some fun. In LaughingJack's awesome write-up of the recent Q&A's with Dean and Hicks, there were a few mentions of animals in the game. As with so many of the things discussed, there's a lot of time between today and implementation, but its an exciting thing to add more to the environmental scope of this amazing game. In it he mentioned 3 primary types of animals.. Predators (wolves, bears)Prey (Cattle, deer, rabbits, goats, etc.)Domestic (Dogs, Horses) Regarding Predators, I think the addition is a great thing. The game needs more elements that give a player the challenge of surviving the environment. Currently, in terms of threat level, players are the most dangerous, followed by infected, then the environment. Obviously the improved medical system, sickness, and infection will up the ante; but I would love it if they got this game to the point where the environment was actually most likely to kill you, followed by the infected, then players (as I believe it would be in reality). In the absence of a requirement for sleep, lower digestion and obscure but important medical concerns like dental hygiene, nature can only kill you so many ways. The whole reason Human beings are social is because it became genetically relevant when we were living in caves to work together to survive. This is consequently why Neanderthals, being inherently anti-social, died off. Thus a truly dangerous environment would spark new reasons for player cooperation instead of meaningless violence. Lets not ignore the fact that Wolf and Bear pelts would make badass clothing options, and the bones/claws/skulls could be used for crafting. Regarding prey, this will likely be the first stage. We've all seen rabbits, hopping around make zombie noises; its just a matter of time before we'll be able to shoot them for meat (and hides?). Adding deer, if coded properly could introduce a major test of skill; while adding cattle/goats/chickens/etc. would be a great way to implement a lot of game mechanics, and make food more interesting than dry rice or beans. Regarding domestic animals, well shoot, someday these will have dozens of threads of their own. For now I just want to dream about the awesomeness of charging through Cherno on a thoroughbred. Horse thievery? Saddlebags? Cavalry fighting? Horse arching? Emergency horse meat? There's a ton of fun to be unlocked with horses that you just won't get from a Yugo GV! With Horses and Dogs alike there should be a "persistent storage" element, meaning your dog or your steed spawn/despawn with you. Horses (& dogs) should also have an element of care included, like feeding, watering, stamina, and medical concerns. This makes it as much a new way to play as a new way to get yourself in trouble. Dogs are easy, but utility is clear. Protection from zombies, early warning (of players, predators or infected), perhaps additional gear storage with a fashionable pack, and of course entertainment. We can throw soon, so fetch could happen. A command system could also be implemented to use F-key gestures or linked vocal commands, for things like sit, stay, attack, laydown, play dead, etc. Domestication should be relatively straight-forward. Something akin to Minecraft, with items that can be used to 'tame' a wild dog and create the attachment to make it yours (perhaps another use for bones?). I'd love to hear other people's thoughts.

Animals - A discussion / I'm excited for this..
Mr Jizz replied to Mr Jizz's topic in General Discussion
Actually you've got me there. I dated a couple equestrian chicks in high school and college, had plenty of time in the saddle. You're absolutely right.. However, you would use a lot less energy than a Kenyan marathon runner.. which is what most of us resemble at this point. I would simply argue that consumption levels would be substantially lower riding than running mile after mile in Chenarus. -

x2  Add this to it.. If you're riding a horse, your consumption of energy and water is reduced to nearly nothing! The horse can eat for free at any pasture in Chenarus, while you ride around consuming almost nothing! I really want one of these though.. -
