  1. I have found so many transmiters but I have always thought of it as trash, but after hearing that they work I decided to try to see if I could figure out how to work it. After fiddeling with a friend testing the transmitter we figured out how to use it. 1) Insert Battery into transmitter, sometimes when you hover the battery above the transmitter the battery is green but if you drop the battery over the transmitter it will be inserted in without any problem. 2) Right click on the Transmitter and select the frequency you wish to use. 3) Right click and select (Frequency) ON so it should read (Frequency OFF) 4) Press the , or . key to go from direct coms to whatever frequency you are using 5) Now press your Push-To-Talk key and you now have a fully functional transmitter Tip: Leave the transmitter on its default frequency so you hae a better chance of being able to communicate to another person or yell at a group to drop their weapons.
  2. I am currently going through the data for the CR527 and will be posting information I find below. In-game description: The CR527 carbine is a bolt-action, magazine-fed, light weight, intermediate range ‘brush gun' chambered for the popular 5.56x45mm cartridge."; Sound: Currently using sounds for the mosin Accuracy: Dispersion is .0025 compared to the mosins dispersion which is also at .0025 giving these guns pretty much the same accuracy Caliber: This gun will be using 5.56x45 bullets EDIT: Gun Caliber is changing from 5.56x45 to 7.62x39 Camos: This gun offers Default Camo (See in Texture), Black, Green, and Camo Magazine: This gun will hold Five rounds at maximum Attatchments: Currently in files, Bipod. Can not confirm which scopes yet. Damage: Same as M4 from what I can tell, but might be wrong. EDIT: Possible damage model replicate to SKS and AKM Recoil: Exactly the same as the Mosin from what I can tell. Texture: Thanks to gibonez for the picture, Overview: This sniper looks to be a copy and past of the Mosin with changes to its skin, damage, and caliber. I will update this thread when I find more information. Still digging through the files and if I can I will add a screenshot of the texture for the gun later. Please note this gun is still a work in progress and is no where finished yet many changes can be expected when it's released from the stats I have given.
  3. Here I am, lying in bed writing another document to be posted on the DayZ forums. First thing first I was not killed, rather I talked to the hacker (Lets call him Chuck Biglio for now) and we had a small conversation about what he could do with his hacks and his limitations to myself and two other people. This is not a rant post where I was killed and said OH I'M SO G00D, I COULD NEVER GET KILLED MUZ BE HACKER. TL;DR version third paragraph from bottom I was waiting in the middle of Kamyshovo with broken legs and my friends M4 when my buddy in teamspeak starts talking to someone. I ask him who he's talkin to and I hear the word hacker. I was immediately sceptical for about 9.5/10 times I hear hacker it's usually not true, but this was different for Tez is experienced in DayZ and has never claimed to see a hacker before. I sat in that teamspeak half listening to him and half talking to a fresh spawn asking him to help me find a stick for my broken legs. After my fresh spawn buddy was unable to find a stick we heard shots and he was hit, but not down. We ran into the house next to us and took cover, I gave my fire axe to the fresh spawn and as he left a fully geared guy came in and splattered my brain parts against the wall. Now that i'm dead I am no longer focusing on myself, but rather the conversation that Tez is upholding with Chuck Biglio. I hear the words Teleporting and spawning and I was intrigued so I asked where they were and heck they were just up the road a 4 min walk between Kamyshovo and Solnichney near the billboard. I ask Tez to tell Chuck Biglio that i'm heading up towards them only 100 meters away I see Chuck Biglio teleport about 4 times at a distance of 25 meters per teleportation. From here the conversation begins as he calmly explains to us what he does and what he can do while we politely listen (Gotta have some respect, right?). “I can teleport and spawn items within a certain radius to me”Chuck Biglio said “I also have an automatic shotgun and god mode too.” I was very interested in hearing his story because I wanted to understand a hacker and what they do. “You see that house over there? There is a can of beans in there any of of you hungry?” That's when the third member of our little sausage party spoke in his ever so pre-pubic voice “I WANT BEANZ” and poof, there was an opened can of beans teleported straight in front of Chuck Biglio’s feet in the middle of the road. Chuck Biglio began teleporting in circles around us as this over excited fresh spawn named Billy shoved his face full of beans like a pig’s nose in a bucket of slop. We talk to Chuck Biglio some more and find out how he bypassed the anti cheat measures in game (I won't post how for obvious reasons) and what his limitations are. First the scripts he ran were for Shotgun with infinite ammo, God Mode, Item Teleportation and teleportation. The shotgun with infinite ammo I and many other people have encountered recently didn’t surprise me, but what did were the other scripts he ran. This is a script in which there is infinite ammo for the shotgun meaning it can be spammed to all hell, even rocket was killed by it in one of his recent streams. God Mode, this is a very obvious script that has been in numerous games and I won't dwell too much on. In case you don’t know it is when a player is unkillable or has superficial powers that can not be obtained by players in game (Ex: Simcity God Mode Land altering or being impossible to kill in Call of Duty). Item Teleportation, this was something new I had never even thought of or heard about. Chuck Biglio was able to teleport items from a radius within 500 meters right to his very doorstep so he could teleport to say Balota Airfield and then stand in the middle and teleport EVERYTHING right to his feet, even items hidden under buildings. The scary part of this is the ability to edit the config files could possibly allow Chuck Biglio to take all the loot from the server and teleport it right to him leaving nothing to anyone else. This scared me a little because it could make trips to high risk areas pointless from people taking all the loot in one button press. Teleportation, it is nothing like it was in the mod. I use to run a server on Vanilla DayZ and I used the admin map to look for people teleporting and it was quite effective, but teleporting it very different in DayZ SA now. Chuck Biglio would take the crosshair and point it at the ground, then hit a button and teleport to that spot he was looking at. From what I saw it seemed to have a range limit of about 25 meters but had no limit to how many times that button could be pressed in a time period which means it could take just a few minutes for Chuck Biglio to make it across the entire map. As we were ending our conversation with Chuck Biglio we heard the fresh spawn with us, Billy speak up. “Can you spawn me TTSKO gear, and M4, Fire Axe and food?!?!?” My friend and I had immediately become very annoyed at Billy and we decided it was time to kill him. Already both Tez and I were intrigued and disgusted with this hacker, we wanted him gone and I wanted to leave the server. As Chuck Biglio fares us a bidwell we do the same, and poof, he's teleporting at a thousand miles and hour down the highway. Now it was our chance, we couldn't kill Billy because Chuck Biglio was armed and would shoot us if we pulled anything, but he was gone now and my friend took to fist fighting Billy. It was a short fight with a KO in 3 seconds we then berail Billy telling him that were killing him for wanting hacked in gear, we tell him to play the game and enjoy his experience not cheat it. He gave me the best response for which I will always remember “WHAT THE HELL I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING YOU GUYS ARE FAGITS ASSHOLES@” How do you spot a hacker and avoid them? First off if you see someone teleporting don’t assume it's just de-sync until this hack is patched up and the loopholes in the code are patched up. I saw a reddit post where a guy claimed to see a hacker and saw someone teleport I was skeptical at first but the way he teleported looked just like Chuck Biglio’s teleportation. Second, if you see a guy with a shotgun fully geared, it's best to stay away from them for why would anyone use a shotgun when fully geared other than to troll? And finally if you find piles of good loot in high traffic areas (Lots of pristine and good loot on floors of military buildings) be skeptical of where it came from for nothing comes free. TL;DR I meet a hacker, he had the ability to shoot a shotgun without running out of ammo, could teleport items to him, god mode and could teleport. watch out for those signs when playing DayZ and leave a server if you see any signs of a hacker. Like I said before, hacking is extremely difficult in DayZ so if you see someone de-syncing more than likely they are not hacking so please have solid evidence when you call hacker. Getting killed by someone doesn’t meen they are a hacker so don't try to inflate your ego by thinking I can’t get killed, must've been a hacker who killed me! Thank you for reading this rather lengthy post and I hope my story will help you avoid hacker confrontation in the future. Good Luck, Kyle

How active is the vanilla DayZ mod community?

Player from 2012 here, The mod has died almost completely out. All that stands are roughly 5 servers that are completely vanilla with some people. The community has dropped to the point that normal dayz servers hover around 250. The game is on its last leg at the moment but it still has some life left to it. If you are interested in some DayZ I have a list of some servers still running vanilla.

    Love the New Sway

Sprint should be done like in ArmA. Running speed is 20 kph while sprinting gives you a 10% boost to that speed for a small distance.

DayZ is far more optimized than you think tbh...

What happaned to OP?EDIT: Just read the above post. Also the optimization while amazing definitely still needs some work. I gotta hand it to the Development team you guys have made some amazing strides so far!

Is this how I die after more than 50 hours surviving?

This reminds me of a story of mine from DayZ Epoch... While running about in Epoch I came across a group of guys who talked to me and hell even offered me a ride. We began talking on TS and from there we decided to work together. After doing amassive amount of looting and work we finally ended up building a base in the NE most town in Panthera. After a while tenstions begin to rise and eventualy they shoot me. I had been a pretty friendly guy on the server so another group of guys offered me a spot in their group. After awhile we began strategizing a raiding party and took off down to my old group's base. We destroyed everything they had worth about two briefcases in all. At the end of it all they never showed up on the server again.
  8. I enjoy playing dayz standalone but I am beginning to get bored and I feel like playing some epoch. Does anyone have any suggestions for good servers? What I want: Not easy mode needs to not be walk 5 feet find an AS50 and attack chopper. Needs a good consistent amount of players 20+ players. Needs good community / admins Any suggestions on a server for epoch?
  9. This has been brought up many times in conversation from people saying mods destroyed dayz and that mods made the game great. Just a simple question here, do you want moderation of the mods coming to standalone to keep dayz to an extent what the developers want it to be, or do you want moderators to be able to run wild which will lead into how dayz mod turned out.
  10. leefriendfield

Do you want moderation of the mods on DayZ?

Look what happened to the mod. Almost the entire population moved to easy mode servers because that's all that was available. It slowly killed the mod until finally three maybe two vanilla servers (I think there truly is only two left since 3480 died) that get populated. The problem is admins make the game easy and everyone sucks it up.

Do you want moderation of the mods on DayZ?

The unfourtaunate thing is that can not happen. It has been confirmed mods will be coming.

Why does hardly anyone report abusive servers?

Because its too much work for me to report them. You can say it only takes a minute to report a server but I'm trying to play DayZ not spend two minutes babysitting admins. If they add an in game report button I will report all day long.

    Great netcode/10

I think you are slightly over exaggerating that one, yes the mod players kill traded too easily in close quarters, but it didn't happen often and I always felt the the time from bullet impact to dead wasn't that bad. Now if you played on modded servers where all sorts of easy mode crap like missions, thousands of vehicles, and spawn with weapons then of course the net code was bad because it couldn't keep up. I'm not sure which version of the mod you played but I never felt the truly bad net code you are describing.
  14. Yep completely understand that this wil change. I pulled out these files to get a very small picture of what this gun will be for and how it can be used. I should have added that this is most likely to change in under that overview, now that I'm thinking of it I will add it now.
  15. Thanks for the model I can imagine flashbangs being found in police stations for riots. Kind of a cool introduction.

  17. In this video we are transporting hostages when we begin taking heavy fire. I grabbed the hostages and began running for safety. Along the way we had shots fly over our heads, confrontation with some of the enemies, and a goal to reach the safety of Black Lake. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHbdx9QFTkk
  18. Here are some pics: http://imgur.com/a/N0exK I am excited for this its time to kick and force players inland to keep em off the coastline allowing for player interaction inside the map.
  19. leefriendfield

Do you want the new version of NEAF?

As long as it forces players to head somewhat inland I will be happy.
  20. I have been joining different servers having my character reset, swapped to another version of my character, and flat out not knowing what the hell is going on. I am playing on the regular stable servers. Is anyone else having these kinds of issues?
  21. leefriendfield

Is anyone else having issues with the hive?

Hmmm... I have already lost 5 characters with this issue in just the past 3 hours. I play on servers that say public but I will try your water.

    Why do you play DayZ?

I want to understand people's want to play this game. I really enjoy it I love this game I just want to understand why other people really enjoy it as well. Why do you play DayZ? Getting in firefights where theres no hud, minimap, bullet count, regenerating health, etc... I like how tacticle this game requires you to be.
  23. I have been getting a little annoyed at DayZ lately and so has my friend with a lot of the spawns being removed. I can imagine the logic behind removing the spawns is to avoid instant PVP deathmatching but all it has done is made this game even worst to play. The spawns along the southern coast were making the eastern part of the map baren and boring, but with the spawns now moved up along the eastern coast it has made the southern side barren. There needs to be in a future update (Hopefully soon) the ability to spawn across the entire coastline or allow players to spawn in a random city/village. This will allow players to loot further inland with the risk that another person may be in their town. The game feels stuck in one area with all the spawns pushing players into small areas where they can spawn no loot gets pushed around and people just deathmatch for everything in towns like Berenzino. The incentive to loot and survive is not there when the only places you can spawn at have completely no loot and the player is forced to walk 3 - 6 kilometers to get gear. You can put the argument in that oh players just need to explore the map some more to find loot, but the lack of spawns removes that incentive to explore when it requires players to run with very little reward in doing so. If anything go with the suggestion a while back ago about making it so EVERY city/village has a spawn area so that way the map truly gets explored and players can loot with the idea that there is goodies, but they have too risk a confrentation with another player but can get some basic loot to start exploring with in their rendomly spawned at town. EDIT: This thread has gained a lot of traction so I will be adding a poll so we can see what the community preferes for the spawn system.

Removing spawns is making this game bad

    Yep it works.
