Foliage movement... has the netcode been optimized for this or are we going to see more lag issues?

The foliage movement is almost certainly client based, and not server based. Which means 0 impact on the netcode and no lag related.

It'll be more taxing on your GPU, but we're in 2017, we have access to good hardware and we shouldn't worry about this.

  2. Sharing a few shots of 0.61 before 0.62 hits experimental. Cheers!

  3. I always carry a radio and spare batteries, and have been doing so for a long time. (Although I've only encountered other users on DayZ Underground...)

Can't wait to hear the new sound effects, and feel the new forests and vegetation!!  Very nice status report!! Keep it up!! The Beta road looks promising!

There is an house with 2 entrance and red colour where is not possible to enter, player remain blocked and is not possible to get inside. I tried entering from the side of the player too.

    PS

Sorry for any mistake about english language.

This will change with the new player controller, but right now you can still enter it if you crouch and stand up while walking inside the door. Same goes for exiting this house, and for other buildings with the same door issue. (There's a shed that have one of it's doors like that.)

Easy bud. I'm just slowing the hype train down a bit. If the latest SR is anything to go by 0.62 will hopefully be out soon.

No worries. I'm never on hype trains, and have been sharing new versions of the "TEST" server on the forums for the past 3 years now. That's all. (And will continue doing so until Experimental is a thing of the past.)

I always play alone because I like to role play (not all-in but just enough to add that extra flavor) and if I am going to interact with someone I want it to be through DC. I have fallen for the pressure and joined friends who are playing in larger groups with randoms on TS... oh lord, never again. Situational awareness just goes out the window due to constant rambling, everybody's running around like headless chicken and the "where are you"-dialogue is not that much of an exaggeration, believe me.

Don't worry, I don't need to believe you, I've experienced it back in 2012 with the DayZ mod, but since then, the only friends I play DayZ with when using teamspeak all have about the same experience as me, so we never search ourselves or run around like headless chickens.

85% of the time I play alone, and use in-game voip to interact as I like to role play too. So I totally understand what you mean.

and the 0.63 "TEST" server has been up longer than that:

I wouldn't use the dev's test servers as any indication for when a new experimental patch will be out.

Well, honestly I never had the "TEST" server with 0.63 in my favorites, but I've had the original TEST server for experimental branch since early 2014, and every time I saw it appear, between a few days to a few weeks the new branch was up on the Experimental servers. That happened 99.9% of the time, for the past 35+ major experimental patch, so I'd say it's a good indication.  ;)

But, suit yourself! 0.62 will never come out!!

  8. If players are that disoriented, then they should learn to get their bearings better. The TS "issue" you're talking about is not one. It's people's behavior that is the problem.

Keep calm and learn to navigate the map. (And to talk without having to scream. Social skills? These are hardcoded skills that seem very hard to master these days. Players of "the Real Life" have a hard time getting along for some reasons.)

    Breaking Point?

This was by far my favorite DayZ mod variation along with Namalsk. The original Breaking Point for ArmA2 was so fun. The first few versions also had a great atmospheric fog when night would set in.

When the aircraft carrier was brought along the shores of Cherno, the mod changed radically to a simple and easy "battle royale" style game, which was a huge disappointment. But it wasn't for too long, as the mod ceased to being supported for the ArmA2 game...

Ran around on the mostly empty DayZ TV 1pp, I wandered around getting my bearing, no map external map at all, and no compass most of the day, once I wandered into NEAF I didn't either anyway. The most players I saw was five but didn't encounter a soul, Saw Odin Lowe on for a few minutes.

I use DayZ TV for my public 1PP needs. I wanted to complete my appearance and still needed a beige baseball cap. For an instant, when I saw "BCBasher is losing connection", I thought I was on experimental... :P

I hang around mostly Cherno, Elktro and Skalisty, using only an engraved 1911.

  11. If you're looking for barrel on the DayZ Underground private servers, I'd suggest looking for bases on the edges of the map. You'll find tents and barrels a plenty!! Be on the lookout for guards defending their bases though.

    Good luck!

P.S.: I found a few barrels stashed in pine trees and bushes around Green Mountain too. You can use a hunting scope or binoculars to try and spot them from afar since the foliage renders differently, and even if you try to hide a barrel closest to the trunk, it's still visible when you are far away enough.

  12. Looking forward to 0.62 for all the forest and vegetation changes, but the thing I'm most excited about is the new environmental sounds!! This will change the experience a lot!! Although, part of me will miss the old sounds that have been around with us for the past years.

    Keep it up fellas!! Cheers!

  13. The DayZ Colony is still the number place to go for interesting interactions, light-RP or anything in between, when it comes to 3PP. It's community over the course of a few years have grown to be one of the best I've seen in any "online" game.

When it comes to events, this is by far the best servers to go! Long live the Colony, it's members, and founding father, overseer Weyland.

  15. Great news. Everyone was always telling me how the melee was "definitive" and would not change by the time of full release, and how it sucked, when I was telling them it was only a place holder and it would be polished.

Guess they were wrong, and I was right! Thanks devs for all the great work! Keep it up!! Looking forward to the new forest and vegetation in 0.62 and the new animations and so on for 0.63 and onward.

    Cheers!

and no, no launch parameters set in steam.  I'm using windows 7 - maybe the path you're giving me is from 8 or 10...

Hmm. I'm on Windows 7 Ultimate 64x, and the path/folder exist. The error logs are all in there.

You must have it, since core files for BattleEye are in there too.

I'd suggest using the "search" function in windows, and searching for all folders title "DayZ". If the path is different, at least the folder will be visible, and you'll be able to trace the folder path. The folder should contain a BAttleEye folder, a MPMissionCache folder and crash report files in .bidmp and .mdmp extensions.

Let us know if you still can't find them.
