It's not fixed. Heavy swings are still the default attack on both stable and experimental branches. Do you even understand what I'm talking about?

How, then you might have some issues. Try deleting your dayz_config files and check if it's still happening, because I had no issue doing normal attacks with simple left click and heavy attacks while holding shift, either on experimental yesterday or stable today. Played for 3-4 hours, killed many infected, no problems with melee for me.

  2. For the past 5 years we could move while in the inventory, but it was recently change with the new animation system. I liked having access to it while moving, but it was too "arcade" style, while DayZ was aiming for a more authentic experience, so I understand the switch, and I've learned to really appreciate it.

  3. I will start my search! Do we know if it's only on public hive? Or on the community servers too? Cause right now I'm on the experimental branch and there's no snow even if we have Christmas trees and presents.

Nights to me are fine the way they are as you are now required to use light sources to see instead of gamma abusing to have an advantage and it makes light sources actually have a value instead of being pointless.

I agree. Just a few versions ago it was still unplayable on the experimental branch at night, but now it's a totally different story, and it feels great. It's a bit weird though, it almost feels like the old ArmA 2 DayZ mod when I play at night using the weapon flashlight. Feels great.

What server is this? I could not find crash sites since AGES! I'm playing on SOS 1 these days, it is 24h day, so this optic will be useless on daylight servers.

Normal un-modded private server. They are rare, but they are there. I also found some on public servers, but they didn't give me an early christmas like that one.

  6. So far I played for 4-5 hours without any crashes, lag or fps drops. Performance was very good, and the tweaked lighting helped a lot at night. After a few hours on public official servers I decided to jump in the community servers. First crash site I encounter gave me a nice little treat. Can't wait for the night on this server to try it out!!

  7. KNOWN ISSUES

Server crashes can cause a persistence wipe. So especially for server owners, try to work with regular persistence backups and if you encounter server crashes, report with your crash dumps to our Feedback Tracker. If you have any proven reproduction steps for persistence wipes, let us know. The team is working on a long-term solution, which unfortunately will take some time.

  8. Let's just face it fellas, the industry's standard doesn't apply to DayZ.

Back on topic. I do find that the nights are too dark when the moon is up, it should be brighter. At least so we can navigate in the forest. If there's lots of clouds or no moon, then granted it should be almost pitch black.

It's been stated that we should be able to navigate at night using the stars, but right now the stars are not bright enough at night, and we don't see them much.

Since there's no light pollution from the city lights, there should be a brightly lit sky with lots of stars showing up, much more than right now.

We DO love the game, that's why we don't want it released with core features missing.

We want more players, and a many have waited for 1.0, do you think this broken mess will make them come back?

Are you aware of the stats?

    https://steamcharts.com/app/221100

I understand that the decision to go 1.0 probably comes from higher up since the coders don't care if they work on .64 or 1.01.  But as this rate we have a new "No Mans Sky" on thursday, sure it will get fixed but a bad relase is worse than one more delay after 5 years.

Why? Why does the "release" is so important to you? Why do you want more players to come NOW? I played DayZ since the very beginning, and had my share of fun. If there's more players getting interested in the game and getting it, good for them, but right now as of December 10th 2018, it's not gonna change one single thing for DayZ. The way the process went, people have already set their minds that DayZ is nothing but trash. If some of them change their mind, like so many No Man Sky players who totally trashed the game when it was release, and are now praising it and playing the game.

I've been here for too long to think that 1.0 is gonna change anything. I enjoy DayZ. That's it.

Now back on topic fellas. Not the release, but EXPERIMENTAL 0.63.149840 discussion.

  10. Few observations so far. Didn't have any issues with the new server browser. I didn't see any stutter or slow downs. Took about 10 secs to show 2431 servers in the community tab.

The new inventory space for items is pretty "squared up" but seem to carry more than before for some clothing. Making casual civilian clothing more viable on the long term, which is good.

The cargo pants and AKM mag have textures problems though. If the mag isn't attached to the weapon it's ok, but the textures are all messed up when attached.
