I always hated the fact that there'S really no "cannon" with the DAYZ background. (like our friend Lok stated) If you visit the official Wiki, it states that as a survivor in a zombie apocalypse, you need to defend yourself against those said zombies. But then again, if you follow the link about the zombies, it leads to the description of zombies: in commun cultures and folk stories and references to the George A. Romero who defined the style. Yet, nowhere does it states that the "zombies" in DAYZ, are not "zombies", and are living humans that are infected with a virus similar to "rabbies". Been playing DAYZ (mod) since summer 2012 and only learned about the "lore" of DAYZ and it's not dead "zombies" via the community and forums about 5 or 6 months ago. No where does those details are "officialy" shared somewhere. From logical point of view, we shouldn't call those infected humans "zombies" at all.... And why all the players are immune? A mystery. I love DAYZ SA, and all the various mods, but the lack of official background story or details as always been dissapointing to me. As we can clearly see, alot of players are confused when suggesting this or that and the community replies " No we can't because..." without "official" source material out there... The only games I know who currently have this feature are The Dead Linger and Project Zomboid. I love that feature! :D Edit: Official source: Dean Hall's words...

You can see the player strait in front of you over the concrete wall at 3:24. (I think it's the one with the green mountain backpack, the same you saw first entering the market) Great job mate!

Tell me then, what line of code did kill you exactly? Honestly, it's not that "easy" to create video games. Go make one, then come back, then you'll have the right to judge the development of the game. It's time like these that make me wish Minecraft would have never existed and all this hype for early access games would never be. I remember a time when I beta/alpha tested softwares and these rants didn't exist on the limited access forums we went to. Anyway, I wish we could get a patch that fixes all the bugs and implement all the features the final product will have right away, but that's not how life goes...

Been following you Street since "Surviving Colorado" season 1. Keep it up mate!! Can't wait till Night time comes back to the stand alone so you can continue "Traversing darkness".

I still remember the good old time of DayZ Breaking Point when it came out. At night there was this crazy fog that covered the ground. I love the atmosphere it created. It wasn't on all the time, for those crying about every little bit of environment troubling their perfect conditions for their sniper shots. In DayZ BP, it only came at night, but in the SA, fog would come and go depending on conditions. Dynamic environment is getting better and better in DayZ. I really enjoy all the variants a sandbox experience brings with rain, fog, day/night cycles, snow, thunder storms, etc. I'm looking forward to fog being implemented.

I was so mad at you Street for knocking out that guy who was trying to help the newspawns (and the kid) but couldn't help myself but to laugh hard!!

Because I love it. The environment, immersion (hardcore), inventory management, and most survival aspects of the game. I love survival games, and the zombie apocalypse genre since Biohazard for PSX back in the days. Always loved them. With the current build, I spend my time mostly testing out features and providing feedback whenever I can. But while doing so, I'm having lots of fun. I like starting fresh on the coast and finding items to shape my appearance also. Well, for lots of reasons it seems... B)

Nice! Thanks for sharing!! B) Really enjoyed that.

 Although I laughed at the " Then I accidently on purpose shoot his friend in the gut " part... :D Nice footage! Thanks for sharing!

Have you tried Shazam to identify the song? Also, like Res said, have you turned up your music volume in-game? Just to test it out?

Have you tried identifying the song you keep hearing? I'm curious.

Night time servers not working? Please Help

I wish there still be night servers. But since the last patch, every server for me is daytime. No matter what hive I'm on, or the current time it shows on the server list, it's daylight, approx 10AM. I love the night in DayZ. It's the darkest and most "realistic", at least for me, night in video games. I really enjoy night in DayZ. -
Good to know you fixed your broken arm. Also, remember to rebind your "hold breath" key. By default it's "hold right mouse click", but with a LRS it zooms in instead of holding your breath. I re-binded mine to left CTRL. It makes a big difference in the end.
