This should provide basic cover, but would make a great base for a shelter. At least the fire keeps me warm, and the freshly cooked fish keep me fed.

Interesting. Might want to delete your config files to redo your default character, settings and preferences. Might as well check the files integrity on Steam too. Good luck mate! :thumbsup:

Why would you think it's in the files? Have you modified any of them? I play since release too, and have never experience the character reset I've read about on the forums and like what you're telling. The only thing I can advice is that when you quit a server, go back to the main screen and check if your character is up to date with what you had when you logged out, then try to go to the same server. If it works, try the same thing, but going to a different server based on the same hive. Test that out a bit. If nothing works (after seeing your geared character on the main screen, and going back to the same server and being a fresh spawn) then it must be something with the files/ip address/Steam game CD key or something like that.

It will stay/be back. Developing a game is often 1 step forward 2 steps backwards. When you add new features, you create new bugs. It always been like that, it's just that people didn't get access to Alphas/Betas or games still being developed. I've participated in more than 50 alphas/betas in the past 10 years, and nothing happening here with Bohemia surprises me. It's pretty standard for a dev team of this kind. I'm very happy with all the changes and additions of this development process, and I'm glad I'm part of it. I love watching games evolve. To each his own! Peace! B)

Well, no matter how you you have "discovered" it, if you didn't share it or if there's no video or info about it, then I'm pretty happy Weyland shared his discovery. I haven't checked that part and never found/stumble upon it.

Check the description of the gun itself, usually tells you what type of ammo goes into it. You can find them in the military tents of either Balota, or the NWAF, in barracks, jail/office building, ATC, Fire stations, but most of mine I tend to find in ruined UAZ jeeps. There's a car dump near Chernaya Polana with 6 or 7 UAZ. I often find 1911 mags there.

Honestly no matter how bad or good at aiming some folks are, since I started playing the Stand Alone on December 18th, I don't consider anyone good or bad at aiming. The netcode in the SA is so unstable that it doesn't matter how good or bad your aim is. Desync, lag, bad bandwidth and the rubberbanding makes it all a matter of luck mostly. I've been shot dead when I was totally hidden in a closed room because my body was appearing outside of the said room to the other player. I've seen players shoot in front of them only to kill a player standing behind them. :huh: I've made 800 meters + shots and killed my target, and shot point blank in the head of a guy with a magnum, just to wait 2 secs and get rubberbanded back to my initial position, and the dying even though the only shot ever heard was mine, 2 meters away from the guy... With the current state of the Alpha, I'll never recognize a good or bad shot. It's all a matter of luck, pixels, and the internets. (Of course those guys had poor tactics, and I like your vids Sobiesky, but most of the time aiming as nothing to do with it in our current build.) -

I use a pair of small eyelashes pliers, jammed between 2, 3 and W. (something like Elle) I stays in place very well and works great.

Lucky you! :D Honestly every time I played on UK servers, either reg or hard, my character got reset. Some how my characters for both regular and hardcore hives saves from US, EU, DE, SE, DAL, and AUZ experimental servers. (Although at about 300 ping, I don't go in Australia servers. Still, I tried and my characters are there. If I join any UK, I'm a fresh spawn, then I switch to any other server, and my character is back up with gear I had, and there's no timer either for quick changing servers. But if I join another server again, from another region, I get the timer before spawning.... I've read that it happened to others too. so I'm not so sure if it's a bug or just a region/ip conflict. -

Did you use the UK servers in experimental? That must be it, because they don't save your character. Avoid them if you don't want to lose progress. For the rubberbanding, walk outside, crouch, and eat or drink something, then walk again away from your rubberbanding spot. -
I like all those ideas. At night we could hear frogs and toads around the shore. With the new Infusion engine, this might become possible. :thumbsup: Good suggestions.

If they ever put the FN Five-seven, I would love to have an FN P90. (As a very rare heli crash site spawn only.) But that's just me. ;) Good suggestions anyway! :thumbsup:

I often am the dude pointing the gun, not killing whom I'm holding up and not even taking anything. Short chat, offering basic supplies, assessing the situation and then taking my leave without a trace, no one armed in the end. :thumbsup: Good for you to have stumbled upon a good fellow! -

Well, honestly for me I love both and they feel very different! One of the things I like more in the SA, believe it or not, is the zombies. For me in the mod they are not threat at all. Even with 1.8.1 I still don't feel threaten at all. Since I started playing the mod 2 years ago, they never fixed them when they enter buildings and start walking. Or even when you go into pine trees and they can't reach you/lose aggro. For me, this is a joke. And I really like the fact that in the SA, even 1 well placed hit from a zombie can kill you. To each his own, but I love both for different reasons. And I like the SA a bit more. Edit: Grammar.

Scripter/cheater on experimental servers

Well, BattleEye is deactivated on some experimental servers due to their nature. BattleEye could act up and ban/kick players for no reason, thus the main reason why we see more hackers/cheaters/scripters in experimental. Sadly. :( Maybe when we get to beta, or hopefully before, we could get a launcher that detects hacks or scripts before opening so they could be banned even before joining any servers. -
only crashes when closing, never closes normally.

Experimental is very unstable. Same thing happen here. I'm not too worried though, it's been like that since 2-3 weeks. (since exp 0.45 came online) -
