It's a big problem that needs fixing. There's also more and more players on roofs of buildings now.

Always try to be a hero! Save those bambis. It's so worth it! (doesn't matter if you die, it's just a game! ;) ) That's my play style! Made countless friends that way, and others who just continue on their way, grateful. The gratitude I get in return is more real to me than pixels and virtual items. To each his own! Have fun! B)

There's also cows right now.

The Night of Bad Luck.. aka, The Curse of the AKM
odin_lowe replied to Irish.'s topic in General Discussion
:( Very bad luck indeed. I encountered about 10 players during my exp sessions yesterday. 2 of them tried to kill me, but I stopped them with words, they waved, and went back on their way. Weird experiences. Still, very interesting. I hope you get to test it without any internet problems, or curses... ;) -
 B) Awesome!

Experimental patch being released as stable?
odin_lowe replied to HecticKris's topic in General Discussion
There's quite a few more servers than there used to be. At first there was about 3 or 4 Exp servers, but now, about 15-20. Edit: These are the ones I added to my Favs. -
Experimental patch being released as stable?
odin_lowe replied to HecticKris's topic in General Discussion
Honestly it varies greatly. Some experimental builds lasted 3 weeks before being released on stable, while on one occasion, it took only a few days. There's only been about 6 or 7 experimental test/builds so there's not much to make of it. And yes some features are great! I really like the new animations for running with your weapon down or the new crouch stance and movement animation. Less rubberbanding too and new sounds for footsteps depending on the surface and environment. It's getting better and better!! -
Irish Roy will be pleased!!!! B)

I've created one using the splitting axe. Use the axe to chop a tree, get wood, split the log to make 3 sticks and combine rags with sticks to create the basic fireplace. Still needs matches to light. Still trying to find matches to light it.

Been there for a few minutes earlier today. Lost session though. Really big city! Very nice honestly!

Thanks for sharing!! Been testing a bit too, but haven't found much yet. (picked some apples in an orchard B) )

My first kill in the Stand Alone happened January 10th 2014. I'm not a hostile player and uses voip instead of shooting first. I had just made my way to the NEAF from the few buildings that were around what is now Svetlojarsk. At that time, there was just about 10 houses and 2 pubs. I checked a few buildings at the NEAF and was coming down from the ATC when I heard the distinctive reload sound of someone spawning in. "Great, a server hopper!" I told myself. I quickly checked the ATC and figured he had spawned in the office/jail building. I waited for him to go out and asked if he was hostile. He turned around and aimed at me, while crouching, and then going prone. I warned him one last time that if he didn't replied, I would have to shoot him considering he's hostile. No answers. Shot a few rounds in his skull. I don't think he suffered much really. I got to live for another day. Oh, if someone talks to you at an airfield or military base, he's probably not hostile. Those areas are hotspots for PVP. (always been) (Most players who wears masks have a tendency to shoot everything they see. I don't wear them, but I think this "oni" mask looks pretty good! B) )

You hear someone say, "Hello?"
odin_lowe replied to Death By Crowbar's topic in New Player Discussion
3. If they engaged conversation instead of stalking and waiting for me to go out to kill me, there's a good chance the survivor calling out is not hostile. I would take the chance. Makes things more interesting. -
Very nice!! Great work!! Really enjoyed watching this!!

Man, your laugh!! (so evil... > :( ) Funny video. Came here for some hero action. Got Bonnie Tyler and a funny video full of craziness non-the-less. Random moments like these can only happen in DayZ. Thanks for sharing. (It's not my play style, but immersion and light RP elements makes things much more interesting. Some of those poor souls will be left with a bitter taste in their mouths though. Literally. ;))

Honestly, using your reflexes and the basic movement keys to interact in real time with the environment adds to the realism in my opinion. Having to press a certain key to make a specific animation breaks the immersion for me. To each his own. ( But in real life, no "Y" or "X" pops up in the air to dodge things or counter an attack...(Heavy Rain) Mind you, I love this game, but it's not for one bit "realistic" in my opinion. It has a great story, nice gameplay and is overall a great game.)
-
Well, for me it's already as arcade as it can be. I wouldn't want it to be more arcade than it is. There's already tons of games out there just like that. Heck, I wouldn't mind it being more "realist" and "simulator" like, but so many players are already complaining about it, that I doubt DayZ will ever be the "reallistic survival simulator" it could have been. ;)

Keep it up Street!! Love your series mate!! (You still play ISS? :D Survivng Colorado?)

The crane operator dude had his mind set on going back to his crane at any costs!! :D You did it though, you changed his mind!

Clothing in good condition do protect more, but be careful, even with full pristine gear and a pristine ballistic helmet, you can get 1 hit ko by zombies if they hit you in the head. First hand experience, and saw Warpath ( a clan mate) get kill that way, right in front of me.

Rolling your sleeves (and why I think it can be done easily)
odin_lowe replied to theevancat's topic in Suggestions
I like this idea very much. Well explained! -
Desync? Lag? Hacks? But yes, bullshit. :( Usually players drop from 1-2 bullets of SKS depending on the range.
-
Nope. Sorry. Don't like those. (37 round 1911? Using hacked ammo is cheating.... No matter if you duped it or created it or not, you're using it. Using hacked ammo = using hacks really... :( )
