Like Kichi said, me either I never got a character reset in 800hrs + of gameplay. Be careful what server you join, and for a quick tip, go back to the menu to see your character before switching servers, just to be safe.

Since the private hives came, I steered off of the public hive and haven't come back yet. I'm glad I did since that way, server hoppers are a thing of the past. Got 7 different characters on different servers, so I never run out of options to play. To each his own though, I know what you mean about the utility of the public hive. -
Hmm. I don't seem to have any problem finding weapons. But I stick to non-persistent servers because of their "christmas loot" bug or "no loot respawning bug". Also, for heli crash sites on non-persistent servers.

Yet, everyone who smokes crave their cigarettes to "calm down".... The irony, right?? I've read a while ago that cigarettes, alcohol and a few other "substances" are confirmed to be implemented eventually. My guess is that when the medical system gets an update we might see those items start to appear.

I'm gonna start an imgur account as Tinypic shrinks down resolution too much for my taste. The screenshots uploaded and the original ones on my comp have very different resolutions. Too much is lost with Tinypic...

I saw that huge building in a Daizy Zero mod I have. Some parts are enter-able too. We might see an interior for it eventually. (Probably after we get the prison, and maybe even after the interior of the new NEAF terminal gets furnished...)

Since when? :huh: This must have changed, because in 0.45,0.46, 0.47 and so on the limit was 3 crashes per server, back then UH-60 and Mi-8 were shared so each time you came across an Mi-8 you lost a chance to find an M4. Most people "hopped" servers when encountering even just 1 Mi-8. There's a guide on the forums explaining the mechanics, giving tips on how to find them, etc... It must have changed with 0.51 with the removal of the UH-60 that was replaced by the UH-1Y. Honestly we've done some testing on private hives, going to all 57 possible crash sites, and finding all 3. Sometimes 1 x Mi-8 and 2 x UH-1Y, sometimes 3 x Mi-8. Never seen more than 3 on a server. It's pretty easy to go to all crash sites spawns with vehicles now. Used to do it on 4 or 6 hours restart servers, but now it's doable on 2 hrs restart ones. Anyway, I'll have to trust your word on this, as I've never read anything official about this. There's a limit of 3 crash sites per server. They randomly change to the 50 some possible spawn points every server restart. If there's 4, 5 or 6 crash sites, it is either a bug (never heard or saw that bug before) or an admin exploit like we've seen in the past. It has been confirmed that admins exploited their rented servers, make them private or connected to the private hive, locked them and abused the manual restart feature to dupe items or make "christmas loot" spawn. Another reason why we have a wipe, to get rid of all the duped items. Seeing so many crash sites when the official limit is 3 per server, confirmed by devs, is quite obvious it's either an extremely, never reported glitch/bug, or an admin abuse. (like there's been in the past...)

This reminds me of the mod, when a server stayed open for hours without restarting, the crash sites were spawning continuously. Anyway this is either a small bug, or a blatant exploit by the server admin.

You still have a long road ahead of you. 700 hrs+ and I've still got ways to go and lots to learn. Got killed about 7 times by other players. At least 10 times from bugs. I don't go looking for trouble or do "PvP Berezino slaughterfess CoD BF Z" a lot of other players do. My barbecues are pretty quiet, peaceful and uninterrupted by murderers. :thumbsup: Pretty nice to see someone finally found one in Stable 0.52. Thanks for confirming this. I loved the sword the time I had it on experimental. I don't care for "realism" or "authenticity" anymore. Not one video game ever gave me what I needed in terms of both, so I just enjoy them for what they are: means of entertainment. I love the immersion I get in DayZ on 1PP servers, but adding swinging a 2 hand sword is even better! B)

Most of them yes, but the only way to be sure is to get in that server to check it, as I found some had "persistence disabled" in their title, but it was enabled on the server itself. Eventually, when persistence works as intended, and the central loot economy gets balanced and is fully functional, I don't think we'll have any "persistence disabled" servers anymore.

It's not related to the private hive or the public hive, it's all about persistence. If the server as persistence enabled, loot "respawn" if all the items in a certain area have been removed. In some cases, this never tick in as there's still some items left behind, making new loot not respawn at all. In other times, because of the same loot respawn mechanic you can stumble upon immense loot in some areas. This is commonly called "Christmas loot". On persistence disabled servers, loot respawn every server restart. Private hives are separated from the public hive, so it only means your character is bound to the private server you are on.

Swords and castles spawns - seeking advice

I've searched most of the Castles you mentioned, and have yet to find one. I had a great time with swords when they introduced them in the experimental patch, but since 0.52 went to stable, I never came across any. Not sure if they even spawn in stable... <_< (They messed with the loot table so they really might not spawn. Seen any cleaver or hunter knives since 0.52 stable?)
