The amphibia .22? I've seen at least 3 of these pistols in 50+ crash sites (both Mi-8 and UH-1Y) but never saw a Rak spawned. Only saw in the hands of Yazar8. I have to say that in my experience it's more rare. It might not be in the loot tables, but it seems to be the case.

It's exactly as you described it. What you say using a certain channel (ex:87.5) will be heard within the "direct communication" area, and also heard by other players using a radio set on the same channel, within about 1km surrounding you. For immersion, roleplay and plain fun, it's one of the features I like the most and I was sad when it wasn't working for a while.

The insults and disgrace we hear when dying or dead just prompt me to respawn as fast as I can. But when stuck unconscious, there's no way to avoid it except to turn off the volume or force respawn. Some players are completely insane. It something exclusive to online gaming too. This is when games lose their entertainment value fast, as it's the sole purpose for their existence. Anyway, I'm 100% with you. -

Damn, wasted 2 deer pelts and left them in the woods cause the option to craft the leather pouch wasn't working. I hope the improvised leather backpack using boar pelt is still working. (And doesn't require lime to tan it first!) -

The thing is, after some testing, the lags/desync/rubber banding/ stuck in "receiving" state seem to be only on 3PP servers. I've tried all the servers yesterday (the ones that were not down at that time) and no matter if it was 10 players or a full 50 on 50 server, if it was 3PP there was some lag issues every 7-8 mins or so, and on 1PP none what so ever. Interactions on 3PP seemed delayed and out of sync, while I tired crafting the improvised knife on 1PP and could do it on the first attempt every single time. But now there's no server online so let's hope next time they come up, it's fixed! Lastly, it seem the animal AI was reverted back to what it was before, as I was starving yesterday and saw a deer, tried to kill it with a machete as I didn't have any guns, and I easily took him out. Saw another one later, and could do the same thing without any trouble... -

I was able to craft one without much problem on the shores of Skalisty. (Finally got the chance to explore some new additions.) Edit: At what part those it fails? Do you have the option to craft, the animation starts and the item never appears? -

There's seems to be major changes in footsteps sounds. I got startled a couple of times at first, as there are now some directional "echo" when getting close to structures. At first I thought it was someone else. :rolleyes: And I don't have any breathing sounds anymore, I dunno if it's just me. -

I had some spare time this morning to test exp a bit. Got the chance to find lots of new items and I have to say that I love some changes. Shirts now take only 1 space of inventory instead of 4. The new raincoat colors are pretty sweet. It seems that throughout my time playing, I never encountered lag spikes, desync or anything that would interrupt gameplay. It's pretty stable for now. As for the water pumps and drinking from streams, you just have to "cancel current action" everytime you take a sip. Was able to get hydrated very fast. Can't wait to have a chance to get back into experimental! -
Have you seen the small changes in textures and new additions here and there? It seems that the construction sites had some small changes. (new pipes, textures.) Can't wait to get back in and do more exploration! Edit: Appart from the shots you took, I never got the chance to see the updated Skalisty island or the prison complex.

Yes, indeed the surprise when it first happened was pretty big. Same thing used to happen (and still happens) in some 2 story houses and some buildings. I log out on ground level, usually away from buildings as they have a bad habit of eating characters.

Really nice encounter at the barracks! That "Stalker" really looked hostile, but was a nice guy after all. :thumbsup: Great choice of ambient music like always. That ending though... :(

Got killed in the woods. Encountered a medic in training called Jenny, and spared some supplies to contribute. Went fishing in the night with a camp fire lit close by. Peaceful and quiet. It wasn't the apocalypse for a brief moment. Found V3S and jerry can right next to each other. Traveled to another dimension with said V3S (Vehicle wanted to see what was under the map... :rolleyes: ), and miraculously survived. :thumbsup: Would go for seconds. Seriously been having a pretty good time in 0.52. Found multiple vehicles, and tested them a lot without having much problems. No crashes or anything of the sort. Looking forward to the next step DayZ takes! Never stopped playing since Dec18th 2013, and I have to say that I'm pretty happy with the evolution of DayZ. Great community, great devs, good times. :thumbsup: B)

Can't wait to see the changes to Skalisty island and the new prison complex on the new island! Was looking forward to map changes, and those are welcome additions to 0.53! If everything goes smoothly, tomorrow will be a great experimental day! B) (Of course the new anti-cheat and anti-duping are more than welcomed too, but seeing the wipe will only affect the public hive, it intrigues me why they are doing this.) :thumbsup: -

It's been a known bug since 0.52 went to stable. (The Happy Holidays patch.) Search the Bug tracker for "AK hand grip bug" and upvote it if you want. (It is already fixed in 0.53 though.) Edit:Screenshot provided for proof. -

:( It shouldn't be. This video is mostly like "Battlefield" or "Call of Duty". It's warfare footage, and DayZ isn't/shouldn't be about "warfare" as it's the apocalypse and the governments have collapse, the army doesn't exist anymore and you're just one of the few survivors who managed to avoid the infection. Now the goal is survival, scavenging for supplies, food and whatever might help you make it alive for another day. (eventually building shelters, barricading buildings, etc.) Of course, in this kind of situation, the corrupted and vile might wanna take this opportunity to rob others of their belongings, having no laws or authorities that could stop them. Others might indulge into darker desires and kill others for their pleasure. It's rough out there, but if the preface is really that DayZ is a "post-apocalyptic survival game with horror aspects", then the goal would be to survive, and try to help others "save mankind". But, since it's just a game, and there's guns, and no written goal, some might want to organize small armies and battle against other organized groups using the construct of the game, or lay waste on civilian survivors. In the end, it's just a video game, a means of entertainment. To each his own to find an enjoyment. (But honestly I have my fingers crossed it won't just turn into a military simulation game with some infected humans in the background... <_< ) When we get the updated engine, we might see a rise in particles on screen and with that we'll probably have some smoke effect and particles for gun muzzles.

Have you tried playing on a private hive to see if it keeps your character? I've mostly left the public hive for the past few months, and don't get this problem at all, so it might also be related somehow.

Do you have any programs that hides your IP address or change it randomly? Does your internet connection fluctuates a lot while you play? This "bug" have been around, and some people found ways to avoid it, but others never experience it at all, so it's probably not a problem with the game code itself, and mostly something either hardware (weird, but plausible) or something with internet connection. When I log out of a server, I always go back to the main menu before browsing and choosing another server, or going back to the same, waiting between 60 and 120 seconds. (If the game doesn't crash. After a game hard crash, somehow I always got back the character I was playing last.) If you get a message in red, bottom left corner (Admin) saying that "the server couldn't retrieve the character information from the hive and was reset." or something similar, just log out, don't move and stay in the server, log out and log back in after a few seconds, or choose a different server. (If you're in the public hive.) I got this message at least 40+ times, and always retrieved my character. In 0.48, sometimes I had to change 2 or 3 times because it had trouble getting my character info. You should give the bug tracker a maximum of info in hopes of finding a fix for your problem.
