A weekend of fun on experimental. I started playing this iteration of experimental 0.55 on Thursday morning since I didn't get the chance before. That being said, I thought most servers would be picked clean by then, but no, everything was alright. Traces of previous survivors could been seen with cold ashes of fireplaces and backpacks left with belongings in them. I didn't have any difficulties acquiring a weapon and some ammo for it. In fact, everything I wanted to make my favorite styled character was found rather quickly. Now that I was properly suited to survive without much effort, I wanted to have some fun with the infected before I'd die or get wiped for the next experimental update. Testing out all the melees, the best solution right now to dispose of the infected efficiently and without much risk of getting hit is to simply shoot them with suppressed pistols. And that's what I did. Found many vehicles. Didn't crash or encounter major bugs. Saw one instances of "loot puke". Overall it was a lot of fun and I can see great potential in the times ahead for DayZ. :thumbsup:

To get Whitelisted you need your GUID, not your Steam name. If you have any problems after that, I'm sure they'll try their to help you. There's plenty of time before the event so if you really want to attend I'd say go for it and get whitelisted! :thumbsup: Type "#beclient GUID" into the chat box when playing.

They seem to be respawing only in certain areas. Couldn't find any infected in Severograd after a restart, but in Myshkino there was an endless affluent of infected coming from every direction... Really looking forward to proper "hordes". (Maybe not when they'll be mauling at me... <_< :lol: )

Yes!! B) This time I'll make sure to have all the necessary to do the archery contest!! :thumbsup: Looking forward to this! Sitting around the fire playing guitar while drinking some cold Kvass! Edit: With current 0.55 loot spawns, finding rope is just a dice roll, so I'm not sure it's gonna be happening... :|

I found a couple of CR75 but I had no mag, and found lots of 1911, even more than P1, but never found a mag with this character. I don't melee the infected anymore, it's much more efficient and fun to take them down with suppressed weapons! B)

I have to say that after 3-4 hours of experimental without any crashes, server restarts and death by bugs of any kind, this version might be ready for stable! Except for the loot puke reported and the zombies not respawing with the current iteration of "persistence", playing on persistence disabled stable branch servers will be awesome! V3S drives great and controls are very responsive. Getting damaged by crashes is fantastic! Gotta love seeing a guy crash into a tree, both front wheel pop and seeing him exit legs broken! Priceless! :lol: Best for me is seeing the "idle" animations in the menu back. B) :thumbsup:

Or the U.N./-ZaP- servers. They are in 1PP and they are rather popular. (Full most of the time.) That's my guess. -

I read a lot about the servers restarting, but I've played for about 2 hours on the same server without any restarts. 1PP. I've seen a couple of players timeout though, so that must be what's happening to those loosing connection to the server. Having a good time so far.

You find them at heli crash sites, the smoking UH-1Y ones. It's a coupled stanag mag. It's always been in DayZ stand alone.

The chainsaw doesn't have any sound effect, but for some reason, I kept hearing loud chainsaw type sounds moving around me earlier. Freaked me out!

Alright! Back to the topic! Was able to play for just a bit, but I can see lots of improvements on the infected! Although I'm sure a lot of players will cry when they hit their first "new" infected with a fireaxe, and see it stagger for a bit before resuming it's attack. Infected take lots of more hits before going down now, and even one can be "challenging". With their damage turn down, we can take more hits, but still, I can't imagine fighting a horde now! :o

Alright, I just tried something. The thing is, I don't have any "tmp" folder in c:\users\username\appdata\local\dayz nor do I have a __cur_mp.ebo, but, I have a MPMissionCache folder in that path and in it is a __cur_mp.pbo so I tried to copy it and create a "tmp" folder, then change it's name to .ebo, but that folder gets deleted when launching the game... :lol: Why would those server, the new experimental ones, or the Colony private server, would want to access a file that doesn't even exist? Even more, the files are all .pbo in DayZ, so why an .ebo?? It's all very strange. Edit: It was all Hicks' fault!!! :lol: When we had the memory leaks in experimental 0.54, Hicks suggested to make logs by adding -dologs in the launch parameters and submitting those to the bug tracker so they could help fix those crashes, turns out it was the cause of all my troubles.... :rolleyes:

I have no clue why it's in a temp folder, but it's also in the official folder too. Lastly, I run DayZ as an admin so I don't understand why it does that. The first time I got the error was on stable branch, trying to join the Colony server after the 0.54 hotfix. Now, it's with the new experimental servers that are with the new hardware Eugene told us. Thanks a lot Pilgrim, it's much appreciated!! :thumbsup: I love experimental so much, thus the reason I'm trying to figure this out. Everything was deleted and re-installed when it happened for that one private I liked playing on, so you can imagine how sad I am now that it transferred to experimental branch... :(

The old experimental servers And the new ones. You can notice a number right next to the location of the server on the new ones. (Next to US, UK or AUZ. IE: US7 0-2 while the old servers are like US 0-2)

Yep, already did this. The first time I got the error message about 2 or 3 weeks ago, when trying to log into the Colony server, the first thing I did was to go to the file location, and delete it. But the thing is, I don't have that file. I tried verifying the files integrity so it downloads it, but it seems it's not needed for 99% of all the servers, so I never got it. It's weird man. Edit: Also, the thing is, I don't have .ebo files, and it's trying to access one instead of a .pbo so it's pretty weird.

Try verifying file integrity, make sure you have enough space, try launching the application in admin mode, and finally, try to clear some temp/cache files just to be sure.

The spawn tables are still messed up on the "old" experimental servers. As far as the new ones, I don't have a clue, as I've got some major problem. I'll try to make this as short as possible while giving as much details I can. I never had any big problems with DayZ in more than a thousand hours. Except for the memory leaks and stability issues most other players also have, I've never had any trouble playing the game. Then, experimental 0.54 came, and it was fine, until a small fix for it came and a new BE update was pushed. Hicks had told us that by going back to stable, we needed to check files integrity as you couldn't play unless you did this. So I did, and it was all great until I tried to log in a private whitelisted server I usually play on (The DayZ Colony, powered by the Weyland Yutani corporation ;) ) and the game crashed, sending me back to my desktop with an error message. I then tried all my other private servers, or public hive, without any issues, only with that one server. It bothered me as I've had a great time there, so I searched for an answer how to fix this. Verified integrity of files multiple times, deleted my profile folder, config folder and finally, totally un-installed DayZ and deleted all the folders, configs and misc folders in AppData and Documents, to no avail. Even after all that, still the same error. The error message in question. I've searched solutions on Google, saw someone with that problem back in 2012 and with the DayZ mod, another search on the Bug reporting site provided me with another fellow who had this problem back in August 2014, and somehow no solution was found as his problem "fixed itself". My main problem is, directly linked to experimental, as now, all the new servers (from the new hardware I suppose) give me this error and I can't join any. Help please? Google, bug tracker and official forums failed to provide me with anything substantial.
