Why are you answering to me? I know all that and I'm not complaining one bit, I'm saying the exact same thing. English is not my primary language so it's sometimes confusing to use it... Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Pretty much. That's what Hicks said when the first "complaints" about broken loot or mechanics. During a certain period (0.43 experimental I think.) they changed the season to winter, and started testing the first iteration of the rain mechanic and getting colder while being wet. 70% of players complained that the game was unplayable and totally broken, but the answer we got is that we're pretty much guinea pigs on experimental, and they got the data needed to refined and tweak the mechanic. So no matter how almost everyone hates or find a certain aspect "game breaking" or not working, they acquire data towards where they think the game should go, as it's their choice, we're only participating in the process, not really influencing it.

Nope. Experimental branch isn't about anything we want, it's only about acquiring data towards general progress of development. It just helps globally towards making a more stable experience overall, not just for the "stable" branch.

I can't contain my joy when hearing people whine about dying in the apocalypse, due to the infected attacking them, or not finding food. Even though it's just temporary for the current "broken" loot, I love it and can't get enough of the current scavenging. It feels more "apocalyptic". ;) Better enjoy it while I can cause it's bound to change anyway! B)

It's not the AI or "zombies" the problem, everything you stated concerning the infected is related to netcode, latency and desync. Once the server architecture and netcode gets polished, you'll see these problems disappear. Until then, I'd suggest playing on low ping server, with the lowest bandwidth you can. (No wi-fi sharing or downloads in the background for slower connections.) The persistence, global economy, loot tables and general loot mechanics are all work in progress so it's not as much as "forcing" something rather than creating it. They're not making experimental builds or stable patches to have us play the game, they're making it and we have access to the software while it's being programmed and created. We can clearly see how much it impacts development to have to make a somewhat stable build game so that people can play it. If anything having a functioning multiplayer game slows down the creating process, but, that's the way it is...

Alright, nothing is "broken" right now, maybe loot spawns on some servers, but there's still servers with "correct" loot spawns. I say nothing is broken, mainly because nothing is finished. I feel sorry for all of those who have a tough time, but personally I love it. I love the servers with weird loot spawns, and I adore the improved infected. They are everywhere! (But less at military bases, go figure. ) I had a great time on experimental, and I'm enjoying stable 0.55 a lot. Best version of the game so far for me.

This argument is invalid though. I was accused of being a troll too, my "argument" was the same as you, and I was corrected that number of posts didn't matter, at all... But that said, I'm with you 100%. It's just a fair warning before Boneboys come in slaps your hand. ;) On topic, I'm glad to see people cry because they die from the infected, which should happen!
-
You're right. I should have been more careful posting that many. Won't happen again.

They could have been looted, but I've noticed that after server restart, the helicopter crash sites respawning at a different location was a little bit off the correct spawn point, so loot wasn't close to the crash site itself.
-
Try another server, as the one you was on had messed up loot tables. It seems there still "old" hardware servers on and these don't have the correct loot tables. I shouldn't say that, they might want to close them and I'm having a blast trying to survive with almost no food spawning. Had to make up for it and start farming since I didn't have matches to cook any meat hunted.

Welcome man! B) Great start! That was some brilliant footage you got there! I laughed pretty hard watching that, and those ironsight mosin shots :o , fantastic!! Awesome!

I just love this look. It's perfect and it integrates to the surroundings without being too "camo" or militaristic in my opinion. I tried many outfits and combinations, but this one is my second skin now. It's my "end game" look and the search to acquire the individual parts is like a quest. Once completed, surviving is the new game+. Final piece acquired: Improvised leather backpack. Looking forward to the flare fireworks! B) Cheers!

Alright! Had the chance to test experimental for a few hours yesterday (between 3 and 4 hours) and was pleased to see the new locations finally spawning items. I'd understand for the recent additions, but the updated Devil Castle's new wooden log pub near the parking lot wasn't even spawning anything even in the last 0.55, and those new buildings are in 0.54... Anyway, other than that, seeing infected in regions previously deserted is a nice addition. I didn't have much difficulty finding them either. Found a V3S in Polana, then another in Topolniki and a third one in Vavilovo's bus and train terminal. With that, I started making my way around searching for crash sites, and going on a hunt for the plate carrier's attachments, and pistol magazines. Found all 3 possible crash sites on the server. All 3 were UH-1Y smoking Venom choppers, and the first one was a winner. Both the second and third one had pistol grip shotguns and a few bits and pieces I didn't need. But the first one had an M4, mags for it, ammo, a pristine ACOG, a worn RDS, magpul grip and CQB stock. Third crash site had an M65 tan jacket, which is one of my favorite clothing item in the game right now. Was pretty pleased to find it. On my way to another location, grabbed a hitchhiker who wanted a ride somewhere... Overall I'm very pleased with the current experimental build. Fantastic experience so far. I'm all set up to continue my adventure. On a last note, did anyone notice that guns now gets damaged over time from firing them? Shot about 170 rounds to ruined the damaged suppressor, and the Makarov got "worn" past this stage.

I always put spoilers for posting screenshots on other threads, but this is the screenshot thread... I don't get it. People won't come here on their cell phones or with limited bandwidth to check screenshots or post them. I've (we've) never used spoilers here so I assumed it was still the same rules as before. Totally sorry if I did something wrong, but my screenshots posted via Tinypics are between 200 and 300 KB in file sizes while some here post using other services making their shots full file size of 3MB+. I'm just a bit confused now as of why only my post was edited and required to use spoiler now. :|

New Experimental character. Liking this one a lot. Gonna have fun until a new experimental build comes and he gets wiped. I don't mind at all as at least half of my time in the game is on experimental.

The problem is not the infected themselves, but the netcode. It's all related to "desync". I've killed hundreds of infected in the last 0.55 patch and this one, and their hitting pattern gets more "laggy" the more ping and bandwidth numbers you get. Heck, the first time I spawned yesterday, I didn't find a melee fast enough and had to kill some with my fists. Gotta say it was more efficient and faster than with a fire axe.
-
That's something I noticed too from the players getting disconnected from client not responding. Saw lots yesterday get kicked while I was playing, but the server I was on only restarted once in 3 hours of gameplay. There's something going on with connections right now, as I read everywhere about servers restarting every 10-20 mins, but no matter what server I'm on, I get messages before they restart, and only once every 2 hour or so. Maybe this will all be a thing of the past once the architecture gets polished and the netcode refined.

It's already changed in the current version. In the end, what needs to be done is just having an option to completely remove crosshair. Either use the iron sight, or "guess" like the good old DayZ mod Hardcore mode. I usually remove crosshairs in all FPS games anyway...

All fruits and vegetables are invisible right now. Other than that, everything seem to be fine.

 First thing I'll do when I spawn, drink some "dirty" water. ;)

Servers don't work for me right now. They show up, but as soon as I get in, they restart. Might be just temporary though. Gonna try again in a few minutes. Edit: Never mind, servers aren't showing up now...

Today we're supposed to get an experimental build update, so it's gonna be bye bye character. This is what I had before the wipe. Man I'm glad the idle animations are back in 0.55, but I'd love to be able to see the character hold a pistol in his hands and do motions too like when you have nothing, a melee or a "primary" weapon (ie: shotgun, assault rifle, carbine, etc.) If I had played with a friend during the current build, I would have probably gave him the mosin and only rolled with suppressed pistols taking care of the infected. Can't get enough of that right now.

starvation and dehydration ridiculously unrealistic

I have to admit that the persistence in 0.55 exp seems a lot better. I haven't had any troubles finding anything, even days after the servers were open. And only 1 time did I encountered loot explosion, and it was pretty isolated to a small building, having the surroundings spawn items normally. Looking pretty good and getting better every day! -

Never compare life to video games, ever. Learn to cope with game mechanics. It's hard for me to understand your frustration as I can't relate to your experience, but try again and eventually you'll get the hang of it. Why didn't you find food? There's way too much everywhere right now, and so many ways to find, grow or hunt for food that it's hard to believe players still struggle with this. Were you playing on a persistence enabled server? They have a bad habit of not respawning items right now so I would suggest either avoiding them for now until persistence gets polished.
