I also found 3 crash sites since 0.49, all Mi-8. Their spawn tables seem to be only for clothes, but it's the only place where you can find the SMERSH vest to attach the bags on it. I seem to find crash sites more often in and around NWAF, when they used to spawn a lot around Green Mountain/Zelenogorsk. I like that they are rare, but it's tough to find an M4 when it's what you want. The Mi-8 crashes seem to share the same locations as the UH ones also. Here's the possible spawn locations since 0.46 for Dagwood.

Doors are open and closed randomly at server restart. You were getting cold because you were wet/soaked. Down jacket only warms you up when you are dry. You need either a raincoat, or a gorka jacket to keep you dry. Also, there's currently a glitch/bug where when you are "over" water (docks, the Rify shipwreck, etc.) you get wet/soaked anyway.

Is a Down Jacket better than a Rain Coat?
odin_lowe replied to lys (DayZ)'s topic in New Player Discussion
If you want space and rain protection, the gorka military uniforms are water proof and offer 6 slots. I play a lot of times at night, and never got cold while staying dry. The down jacket is still the best clothing item to get you warm, but if it rains or you're already wet, it won't offer any good protection against the cold and risk of hypothermia. -
If any of this gets into the game, I'll be happy! All of those suggestions seem fantastic to me. On a side note, you probably know about the game "The Forest" right? If not, check it out. The survival aspect of the game is pretty nice. Back to DayZ, with bears and wolves confirmed, wilderness survival will probably be a challenge. And I like that. Devs are doing an amazing job imo. :beans: To you, and them.

It works perfectly outside. Was cold and soaked, and it only took about 3 mins to get dry, and warm. Just don't light them inside buildings right now, as it's glitched/bugged.

For 1911 mags, I usually have good chances finding them at office buildings (commonly called "school"), police stations and construction yards with the yellow crane. Check on the ledges of each floors. I've kept my engraved 1911 until I found a mag for it, even though I had 7 mags for the makarov I also had. Ditched it though, as my love for the 1911 is too strong... :D

Go to NWAF. Stop by the Pavlovo military base, Zelenogorsk, Vybor military base and finally the NWAF. Check barracks as they are you best chance at finding magazines. As for loose or boxed 7.62x39 and 5.56, any military spawn really. Had an AK101 and was looking for a mag, and when I finally found one, I had stumbled upon 4 AKM, 3 30 round mags and a drum mag for them, so I switched to the AKM.... Balota has been nerfed a lot since it's gonna become a civilian airfield instead of a military one. Good luck, and have fun!! Edit: Eventually, there will also be Myshkino military base. Which is all the tents that were at Balota...

DayZ Development So Far - Dean Hall at PAX Prime 2014
odin_lowe replied to vandal gab's topic in General Discussion
I watched the full thing and commented before. I really liked all the info transmitted there and even though a lot of questions were not very important to me, some were very good and got answered very well. It feels like even though Dean is leaving, his heart is still deep in the project and he's still very invested in it. -
The quarry between Novo and Seve got a major upgrade too.

Same happened to me, but I immediately logged out when I saw I was a fresh spawn, and rejoined the server, and got back to my character. Since 0.49 went to stable, this happened at least 6 times to me. But each time, I was able to get my character back.

Funny stuff Street! The get warmer, you need to find better clothes. Wool coats and down jackets are currently the best to warm you, but a raincoat (like the orange one you picked up) or any gorka clothes will be overall better to keep you dry. Currently running or fighting won't get you any warmer. Nights are pretty cold honestly. (Even with a wool coat I was getting cold. Making a fire outside got me warmer.) There's a glitch currently with the shotgun, you can't unload it at all. You have to shoot both shots before reloading it. Keep it up Street! Have fun!!

Really enjoying your videos mate. Keep it up!

Helmet+visor+mask combo looks fantastic!! Reminds me of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. style armors and clothing. -
The area surrounding Severograd is fantastic. Much love for the north recently. I also noticed that the cemetery south of Severograd got an upgrade on its chapel. FIrst there was a parking lot. Then they added the tiny chapel. Then, a few cars and tombstones/graves. And now complete makeover of the chapel. I really like to see the map reshape and evolve throughout development process.

Goodnight! Sleep tight! B) (If you're randomly changing servers, you might change hive in the same time. Be careful with that. I currently have have 3 different characters. 1 hardcore and 2 different regulars.) Oh, and alpher....

Recent hardcore experimental branch character. (before yesterday's wipe... 0.49 being pushed to stable, experimental servers are now offline...) Very "tacti-cool", but I like his camo look.

My favorite character so far. I started him January 24th, after it's previous iteration fell from the Rify shipwreck. Played between 80 and 100 hours with him. A few items changed here and there when they were implemented, but basically it's the closest I could get to a hero skin from the DayZ mod. (Which is actually just a player/npc skin from the ArmA2 PMC DLC.) I searched for an M4 since it's probably my favorite rifle. At first I used the R.I.S. grip for the flashlight add-on, as I love to play at night. After a while I started switching parts to get the Mag-pul, for less recoil and bullet spread. And finally switched the black assault vest for a DPM camo one. And it's been my regular stable branch character ever since. R.I.P. hero!! B) Jan. 24th, 2014 - Sept. 17th, 2014 -
"Video removed by user" - Must have been really awesome...

With the implementation of cigarettes and vodka (first of other possible alcoholic beverages) and Dean Hall liking Project Zomboid and sharing features/getting inspired by, would be nice to see character stress level rise depending on situations. Smoking one and getting a drink after events like you had would be both for you and your character! (can't wait to test those actually! ) Edit: 1000th post! B)

Option to turn Ambient Occlusion on without having to activate post processing
odin_lowe replied to Ansssi's topic in Suggestions
Same. Got my fingers crossed the redesigned engine will allow such options. (Maybe they could lock the brightness and gamma too! ;) Or at least limit it to minimal scrolling for those who have dark monitors... But I don't have my hopes too high for this one.) -
Anytime!! B) You need a mag for that makarov? Carrying one on me but I don't have the pistol. Basically it's to give to anyone who needs it. (Like the rest of my extra gear... I like basic survival more too!)

Why nobody want to play in the night time?
odin_lowe replied to MrKartel's topic in General Discussion
I love playing at night time. I don't have any problems with zombies, night or day, but the main reason I don't play much in night time servers is due to the gamma and brightness exploit and light passing through solid objects like walls and such. When the engine gets its big update and that's fixed, it'll be a step in the right direction. Although I doubt the gamma and brightness exploit will ever get fixed, as it's mainly a graphics option, and not an actual bug. DayZ being an online game based on an old "single player" game engine (back in flashpoint and ArmA 1, not everyone played online and the player base was mostly split in half) with no internet connection required, this feature was overseen and no attention was put into it since then. (Remember that Operation Flashpoint was released in 2001, and ArmA 1 in 2006.) The only way to "fix" this, will probably be when private shards with whitelist and passwords are available. And this is still not 100% proof since we'll have to rely and trusting players will follow rules. Fingers crossed the option would be reduced to a minimal at least so that it's more balanced anyway.
