I think it's normal for the first 30mins-60mins to have a very unstable experience as the servers get loaded with the various mechanics. Let's wait after the restarts to see if everything's alright.

Hmm, you don't seem to understand what I'm saying. There's no 10 round mag for the mosin in game. I never said there was or there was gonna be. Irrelevant. The placeholder factor is that manually loading the mosin, or pressing "r" to reload if you have a 5 round clip start the same animation, which in the future will change as loading a 5 round clip into a mosin is done in a "single" move, and you shouldn't load each round individually. The clip right now dosen't have it's proper animation, that's a fact. Loading Mosin with stripper clips: -
Yes. What he had in his clothes was mostly ruined, but most of the items that were showing on top of his inventory was still in great condition.

Winchester model 70. At close range it's pretty similar to the mosin, if you don't exploit the "semi-auto" feature (glitch) of the Winchester, which I did. Took three shots to take him down and had to reload 2 times. Was aiming at his legs to teach him how to use direct chat :P but after getting unconscious and waking up, he just died at the third shot to the legs. I really thought he was stalling me for the guy that just take pot shots at me to come and take me down, but I never saw him again. At least I think he would have been attracted to the gun shots of my fight, but not even that...

Got attacked yesterday by someone with a Winchester, that took at least 20 shots, but none connected. As I fled into the woods in inside a nearby house, not 1 minute later some player comes in with an ashwood stick trying to poke me. I thought maybe he was trying to stall me while his Winchester friend comes to kill me, but in the few minutes of running around trying to avoid the poking and shooting back this guy with my own Win model 70 no one else came. So in the end they might not have been together. The thing that's most weird for me was how the inventory of the "poking" guy was displayed. I had never seen that before. I'm not a killer nor do I KoS so I haven't had to loot a body yet on 0.56 experimental even though I saw plenty of players here and there.

The Z in DayZ refers to "zero", as in DayZero. The first time ever when you used to spawn in Chernarus, back in 2012, the first thing you saw was probably the shore, and something like :Kamyshovo, Chernarus, Day 0. Since Dean loved the "zombie" genre, he probably used DayZ as an acronym for both Day Zero and Day of the Zombie... The only way to really clear this up would be to ask him personally, but in the end it can mean anything to anyone, it doesn't really matters. -
Probably next Wednesday with the maintenance, and the 0.57 stable patch. (Are we gonna have a 0.57 experimental first?? Who knows...) Edit: When is not sure, but we will have a global wipe with the next stable build update, whether it's with a 0.56 stable patch, or 0.57 like they said they'd skip 0.56 stable to stay with the 1 stable update per month at the end of each month.

The main problem right now is that the hunting scope is bugged, and does not magnify to 12x like it's supposed to. I'm glad the mosin will only use the LRS, for authenticity purpose, as since the start we could clearly see the scope was in the way of the reload the mechanism. But then again, it's all placeholder, just like the 5 round clip, which only let's you press "r" to reload, and doesn't do it's job as you still load each round individually, instead of using the said clip to load the gun in a single move. Having the VSS and SVD just adds much more sniping tacticool to the game, which personally I could have avoided completely as I don't play DayZ for military simulation or shooter reasons... But, to each his own!! ;) -

That's what I noticed to on another location, but I think some have figured this out and already server hopped those locations gathering all they could.

I seem to be finding cans of food more than I can carry... <_< People need to start looking more thoroughly I think. Spawned in Berezino, didn't waste time there. Sprinted to the car scrapyard, didn't find anything. Left Berezino and made my way North-West, still sprinting, thirsty and hungry. Went to Dubrovka, looted the little village North-West of it and made my to Gvozdno, heading to Severograd. By that time, I was orange hungry and started starving, relying on the few berries I picked here and there, and was hydrated from a water pump. My plan was to head to Nagornoe to explore it as I never did before. In the surroundings of Severograd, found 3 cans of food. Bacon, spaghetti and beans. Nagornoe was a safe heaven. 2 bags of rice, 3 cans of peaches, 2 powdered milk and plenty of ammo for my Winchester. I checked everything, and found plenty. This was on Northeast 1PP. On a side note, I tested "hoping" the same deer stand on 6 different server. Same item pattern. Various stages of damage.

Another place worth the check is the small green barrack at military locations. 2 at the NWAF and 1 in the military base west of Myshkino. I have found an SKS there almost every single time I checked them. (Only valid in the current experimental.)

I'm not too sure, cause I purposely waited, till the maintenance (this morning for me), to join experimental as a fresh spawn on 3PP to try and survive, and it wasn't as harsh and tough as I thought it would be. Much too easy still. Spawned in Berezino, and made my way inland, towards the north and Severograd, looting all the small towns and villages around, and this is what I end up getting: In the end the only thing I was looking for was a hunting scope for that Winchester. Something I've noticed after testing it: Yesterday on 1PP, I logged out near the "blair witch" camp west of Pustoshka, near the feeding shack, and when I logged in again this morning just to see if I still had my character, I noticed that the items in the feeding shack were the same items (2 heat packs, 1 range finder and a pipsi) as the items I saw when I logged out, but this was in 2 different servers. After this morning's play session on 3PP, I decided to "server hop" to test out if this was just a coincidence, but no. In every server I went, 3PP, the feeding shack I was near had the same items in various damage condition. An RVDS, a crossbow scope, a brass compass and a heat pack. In 6 servers, there was the same items. I took 1 of the RDS that were pristine, the others were 3 damaged and 2 worn. Although I don't like server hopping, this is for "science" and I'll have to try it again at another location just to see if this is right. Now I'm 80% sure the same items spawn in the same locations on "all" of the servers. Even though at first people stated that they liked the way loot was distributed, me included, now it's pretty obvious that it's the most "static" loot distribution I've ever seen, and the most predictable too. :( I'm glad I didn't see any loot explosion yet though. I know a few fellas mentioned having coming across some, but I have not. Really looking forward to a more dynamic and random loot distribution in 0.57 experimental!! :thumbsup:

Well, we're probably have another wipe with the new exp build coming, so this is what I had last night, when I last played on experimental. I really don't have any troubles finding canned foods and various other goods. I tried to wait before playing, to see if most things would be looted, but either the respawn mechanic works much better than before, or either a lot of players missed valuable items. Somehow didn't get any memory leaks when exiting the game yesterday. Everything went pretty smoothly. Looking forward to 0.57 experimental!! :thumbsup: Edit: Forgot to mention, I came across a LRS on a police car. Kept it to try and test it on various rifle, even found a mosin, but it wouldn't attach to any rifle at all, and could only be used as makeshift binos.

Totally understand. And although you did it for the right reason, because of the circumstances it is technically "logging while being in combat". That being said, you did it not to escape battle, but for the reasons you already stated, which is totally fine. Sorry I had to point it out... Glad to hear you made it out alive! (With the 30secs timer, you could have been attacked by infected, or even killed by players by logging there.) Take care and have a good one!

Yep! I built this system myself 3 year ago. Gonna run some more tests, and share the results. Back to topic: While trying to figure out my problem, I had to log in and play some experimental for various periods of time. (10mins-20mins-30mins-etc.) Spawned in Elektro, infected all around, and was able to aquire way more than I thought, or last experienced in the current version. Gonna wait till tonight, or maybe tomorrow morning to see if it'll be more barren/looted.

Tried it, and even completely deleted the file, to no avail. Still get this weird bug. It might be related to my physical 16 gigs of ram...
