You still have a long road ahead of you. 700 hrs+ and I've still got ways to go and lots to learn. Got killed about 7 times by other players. At least 10 times from bugs. I don't go looking for trouble or do "PvP Berezino slaughterfess CoD BF Z" a lot of other players do. My barbecues are pretty quiet, peaceful and uninterrupted by murderers. :thumbsup: Pretty nice to see someone finally found one in Stable 0.52. Thanks for confirming this. I loved the sword the time I had it on experimental. I don't care for "realism" or "authenticity" anymore. Not one video game ever gave me what I needed in terms of both, so I just enjoy them for what they are: means of entertainment. I love the immersion I get in DayZ on 1PP servers, but adding swinging a 2 hand sword is even better! B)

Most of them yes, but the only way to be sure is to get in that server to check it, as I found some had "persistence disabled" in their title, but it was enabled on the server itself. Eventually, when persistence works as intended, and the central loot economy gets balanced and is fully functional, I don't think we'll have any "persistence disabled" servers anymore.

It's not related to the private hive or the public hive, it's all about persistence. If the server as persistence enabled, loot "respawn" if all the items in a certain area have been removed. In some cases, this never tick in as there's still some items left behind, making new loot not respawn at all. In other times, because of the same loot respawn mechanic you can stumble upon immense loot in some areas. This is commonly called "Christmas loot". On persistence disabled servers, loot respawn every server restart. Private hives are separated from the public hive, so it only means your character is bound to the private server you are on.

I've searched most of the Castles you mentioned, and have yet to find one. I had a great time with swords when they introduced them in the experimental patch, but since 0.52 went to stable, I never came across any. Not sure if they even spawn in stable... <_< (They messed with the loot table so they really might not spawn. Seen any cleaver or hunter knives since 0.52 stable?)

They seem to have been sucked out of all the servers and put under this tree. Fused and merged together to create the ultimate Christmas gift teddy bears! It's some kind dark magic I'd say! ;)

:D First time I "made" this outfit was back in December last year, trying to re-create the hero skin from the mod. It's pretty close, but we still need fingerless gloves and leg holsters! I like more civilian looks, and was also tired of the military look. This is actually the same character we did the trade, I just wanted that look again so I set myself the goal of finding the clothing pieces I needed and went on an adventure to search for them! (In pristine condition of course. ;) ) At least one of my characters will look like that after the wipe, but I seem to be very fond of the new bomber jacket too so a few other characters you'll see appear in screenshots will probably be sporting it in the future! This is do to persistence. I've encountered this "christmas loot" for the first time in experimental when they first implemented the persistence and loot respawn, but never saw that for crash sites. Very interesting!! :thumbsup:

"I only took screen shots of 8 but still. 1 server, 8 (10) heli's (non-persistent server), 3 V3S's; probably won't find one ever again." After doing some tests, I still never saw a crash site on persistent servers. And easily found many on persistence disabled servers.

I'd say not that much considering most of the crash sites were Mi-8. I never find anything good at those, except for the PM73 rak mags and gun... Personally I like the UH-1Y more simply because they spawn AK101, M4 and the Steyr AUG as main weapons and FNX and Amphibias for the pistols. But 10 crash sites on 1 server???? I thought it was restricted to 3, guess we were wrong heh!

Get in contact with the server just to make sure it was persistence enabled, as even if it's written in the server description, there's always a chance it was turned off. As we did tests, going to all 50+ spawn locations on a confirmed persistence enabled server without encountering at least one of the 3 possible crash sites per server restart. Anyway, found anything interesting?

Hmm. The only real problem was that they don't spawn on persistence enabled servers. Since 0.51 experimental. Never had any problem finding them before that, and same thing these days, I just log into persistence disabled servers. For the past 2 weeks, I have found at least 30 crash sites. 10x Mi-8 and 20x UH-1Y. Eventually they'll probably be more "dynamic" and make them spawn random instead of their 50 some fixed possible locations.
