    Favorite character of 0.58 stable so far. Pretty common look I usually try to get, but I like it. "Hero" skin look-a-like. Details. Edit: 1PP public.

    THE TEST 5 server has been up for a while for the devs. Version is 0.59.129431. It might still take a while before we have access to 0.59 experimental, but at least there are some signs of it. We never have access to "THE TEST" server, it's always passworded, but it shows signs of progress internally.

    This is probably all be gone when we get the new character/player "skeleton" bound with the new animations. That's been talked about for the past few months in the status reports. A lot of new animations were programmed, but we had to wait for the new player inner structure to get updated before we could see the new animations implemented. (E.G.: Eating while moving, falling from certain heights having it's own animation, limping from a wound/fracture while moving, etc.)

    It's been bugged since 0.45 really. No matter if you have a pristine RDS (FNX RDS that is.) with a pristine, fully charged battery attached, it just don't work right now, and it's been that way for a while. It worked for only 3 patches before it was bugged... Edit: Oh, and by the way, they will need to lower the zoom rate with that rds, as it zooms way too much currently. Edit 2: It seems the RDS for M4, MP5 or UMP always stays on, but the M68 optics now need a battery to properly work. Hoping the other battery powered optics get their fixes too. Edit 3: Finally got the FNX RDS to work. Like I said, even with fully charged battery, and both the RDS and battery pristine, it didn't work. I had to place both items in my inventory, separated, change servers, place them on the ground, back in the inv. and tried it again. Worked.

    I know right!! :D The server was called "This is a Slaughterhouse", and we didn't think much of it, as being on the island renders the possibility of "kos" to zero. The admin messages when we got in were "No-kos will result in ban.", "KOS only server.", "Enjoy the kick." and a few others clearly stating that it's either you go hostile, or get kicked... All the opposite of "pve" servers. Mostly a "troll" admin who only wants the server for himself, and instead of illegally whitelisting or putting a password on his server, simply kick or ban any players that join and don't kill other players within minutes of joining... :rolleyes:

    This is probably the most interesting and fun adventure I've ever done in DayZ. It's an accomplishment in itself!! I'm glad to have been part of it!! Thank you Tatanko, GaryWalnuts, and let's not forget Gews! :thumbsup: Getting banned because of too much "pve" in the Slaughterhouse server was hilarious, and ended the evening on a high note!! :lol: Gary on the left, me in the middle and Tatanko on the right, last shot of the night. P.S.: I totally forgot to go back to the camp and check the tomatoes after the "ban".... :rolleyes:
  7. Yes, I do this too. But on one server, nothing was helping. (Even getting damaged... All the status updated on the next one I joined. This was on public hive.)
  8. Some servers don't update your status as it should. When you notice this, leave the server and join another. Problem fixed. I had this happen to me. Not able to get warmer. Changed the server, made another fire, and got the status updates.

    Yes, they spawn in civilian houses, deer stands, cars, etc. They share the same spawn points as mosins, IZH-8, repeater, etc. I have one with a hunting scope on a 1pp private hive.

    My First UMP

    It's a very nice gun, but it degrades much too fast right now. After about a hundred rounds (4 mags) the pristine one I had got ruined, while I can shoot 200+ rounds easily with the MP5. The .45 ACP caliber should do more damage than the MP5, at least in stopping power, but it took at least 3 to 4 shots to kill infected, while the 1911 also chambered in .45 ACP takes only 1 shot to kill them, no matter where you shoot. So you better get headshots with the UMP, or you might get in trouble. You can check out some PVP videos to see it in action. (Toperec's one when he first got hands on one is pretty cool, and shows how much it degrades too.) I like the UMP, but it needs a buff, and a fix for getting damaged too fast. I remember when the MP5 was first implemented, it was very similar in terms of degrade factor, and it got fixed after 1 or 2 patches. Fingers crossed the UMP will get some attention soon. ;)

    Yes, and that's what I was afraid of. Because during all the 5 weeks or so of 0.58 experimental, I hadn't seen an M4, nor did I heard/read reports from either close friends I play with, or even the nice experimental community that was created throughout the various builds. Extremely low is pretty accurate I would say.

    The other 2 players on the said server were with me, and one was the server's owner. Fresh server, no one had been on it before. For testing purposes, this is the best way: having a controlled environment. Note that we never found either an M4 or an AUG in the officers barracks (Either the 2 at NWAF, or the single Myshkino tents one.) but we know they can spawn there, as previously reported by other players.

    That might have been the case, but both can spawn the same items right now. (Unless someone hacked into a passworded private server with no one else and did the same thing where I found one... <_< ) Why think that only the info you have is the right one? :rolleyes:

    Mags for the AKM can be found at the tents of wither the NWAF or Myshkino tent city. They are kinda rare though, similar to the AK74 mags. Avoid the long barracks or officer barrack as they mostly have NATO and heli crash item spawn.

    Nope, not the wrong place. Both the new enter-able long barrack, and the officers barracks share the same loot tables. There's less exploits of lootsplosions in the long ones, but chances are still pretty good to find one there! Just need a weapon cleaning kit and you're good! :thumbsup:

    I like that a lot, but the problem right now is those exploiting the respawn mechanic and creating lootsplosions like before. I've seen it in both the public and private servers. When the lootsplosions are gone, then it will even things much more right now. I tend to play on the private servers to avoid this as much as possible, and avoid server hoppers too, but as for lootsplosions, they still happen... :(

    Hmm. I haven't seen any issues like this on experimental, and some fellas had really extensive bases. While I played on US-2 of the Colony with about 10-15 other players yesterday and the day before, I didn't have any issues at all. I haven't joined US-1 yet, or US-3 for that matter. Are those "lag" problems only on a specific server, or all 3?? I've playing a bit on other private hives too, and been preparing something with Tatanko on the public servers too, and for me so far the latency and inventory interactions have been great!! Can't complain at all right now! I'll try and log in all 3 Colony branches later on and check it out.
  25. Don't look directly at the ashes, it's not the flames that does that right now, it's only the bottom part. Using logs instead of sticks diminishes the area that produces the "blindness" , but really just avoid looking at it directly. ;)
