The current dynamic events such as heli crash sites and police cars are better than they ever been, functioning great. It's DayZ, so it's all a matter of "luck" when finding good gear, it should never be a certainty, besides, what if the crash site you just found was looted 10 mins ago, you shouldn't be able to find more good military gear after that. What you want seems to be starter packages, as you seem to incline that you don't like finding gear to lose it to bandits soon after... Nah, crash sites are great the way they are, leave it like that.

I found the pistol suppressor at a Nato (smoking UH-1Y) crash site. The 9mm clip for the Red9 is very common at military tents and barracks. I had clips and plenty of ammo on experimental, but when I was using either the action bar or "r" to reload, I didn't get any animations, and the weapon would be reloaded after a few seconds. (The time it takes for the animation to play.)

I noticed a few things I didn't see in experimental 0.59. The Red9 seem to have it's reloading animation now. Used it a lot on experimental and it wasn't there. Also, and this was already in experimental but didn't see anything post about it, but you can't put pistols in the plate carrier holster if it as attachments on it. The Red9 looked a bit silly with it's buttstock sticking out of the holster. Same thing applies to the other pistols as well. Had some attachments for the Glock, and even with only the pistol flashlight it can't be attached to the holster.

 I was super happy when they added them again. They moved a bit from their old locations too. I had some fun lighting a few around. Merry Christmas everyone! Enjoy your holidays!!

I found a few crash sites without any loot at all, but the same can be applied to police cars and boats. All dynamic events seem to have a chance to spawn without anything at all. Probably a bug. That being said, I seem to have been very lucky with my crash sites. Especially the Mi-8.

Good luck on your search dude! If I can suggest something, as I love going heli hunting since they were first introduced, is to find a pattern that suits you. I usually do the Zeleno/Green mountain run. The area surrounding Green Mountain has a great concentration of possible crash sites, and some areas can be seen from far away, making the trip pretty short for the amount of possibilities you get. (Between 12 and 17.) Some might like to search the NWAF and Lopatino surroundings, to each his own. Safe travels survivor!

Yep, they are in. Found a few yesterday. And like Szymowich said, he found a Fal not too long ago.

Desync. When he got to the corner where you were hiding, on his screen you were still there even though on yours you had already ran behind him. That's DayZ for you!! When the netcode gets polished, the player character have their new controller, and the animations are in with synchronization optimized, we'll see these occurrences diminish greatly.

I think the Glock19 and FN Fal didn't make it into the stable patch we got, only the X'mas trees. The Glock was pretty easy to find on experimental. In total, I had found 13 Glocks in 7 police stations on experimental, before, and after the wipe on December 18th. And now, it seems VSS and SVD are more common than this pistol, so I'm guessing (After searching 20+ police stations, on various characters both private and public hives, 1PP and 3PP...) Edit: It seems I was just very, very unlucky compared to my experimental experience, as some have confirmed the Fal is in. (Although no one said they found a Glock yet, I'm assuming they are in as well.)

Persistence didn't have a wipe, I still have my camps. But, vehicles were "refreshed" it seems.

Yes, it's pretty rare, but when you eat Crispy Crisps cereals you have a chance to get one. Found 2 in 55-60 boxes...

I miss the Christmas trees we got last year... :( I thought we could at least have them for experimental, but time is running short before X'mas.

So weird to see the FN Fal back to it's crash site spawn... Brings back memories from the mod!

Really liking the Glock19 so far.

Bullet count. In real life you can remove the mag and see the bullets left in the mag via those holes. (With the appropriate number of bullets written on the mag.)

New design for Rocket aviators? Used to have black frame, now it's "silver/metal". And they have proper damaged models too.
-
The fox is pretty nice, but it's not new. Almost all animals except for cows and deer were removed in 0.58, but the fox was already in 0.56. Still, it's always fun finding rare things in DayZ.

Somehow for some 10 maces I only seem to find 1 or 2 swords. I've been lucky on Skalisty island, but, it's still all a matter of luck. Safe travels.

Did one last little play through today on experimental 0.59 as I like the short period of time when Stable and Experimental have the same build, and you can easily switch between both branch and characters. This is what I had in the end. Details:

For me too, thus my disappointment when I found out. At first I thought someone might have found my barrel, but after I placed 3 protective cases, 1 ammo box and another barrel at various locations, some very far, and saw that only 2 hours (maybe less...) after they were gone, while the server remained empty, I knew something was up.
-
Hmm, it seems Fragnet's 1PP servers don't have persistence either. Either this, or the few players (Max of 10 per day...) that are on have ESP hacks... I've hidden barrels, ammo boxes and protective cases at various spots, very hidden (I used those spots during 0.58, and for 6 weeks my caches were not found, even on high traffic servers.) and they all seem to vanish after a few hours. I've tested it earlier today. Placed a barrel with a few things in it at a discreet, far away and well hidden area. After 2 hours, without other players joining (maybe 2 server hoppers) the barrel was gone. Just a safe warning, 1PP Fragnet servers don't have persistence ON.

Still needs some work as most weapons with selectable fire can't use their feature. (IE: The MP5. Since it was implemented, you still can't change it's firing mode.) It will be much better with semi-auto fire and 20 round mags. ;)

Yeah, it was a bug in experimental 0.59 using the -newui. You need to log out and log back in for the inventory to appear. Overall I enjoyed the experimental 0.59, but pushing it to stable wasn't a great idea as there is some serious issues still roaming... You can't use the old ui to interact with vehicles, and the -newui is still all over the place with poor design and questionable functionality. I tested it out on every exp builds and it always was terrible... :( That's just my opinion, but since I'm the one behind the screen trying to play the game, it makes the whole experience a chore and it's very annoying. Of course, it's all just a work in progress, I know that, but in reality, in the present, it makes DayZ almost unplayable for me at the moment... Edit: One of the worst part of the -newui is the absence of status update. You don't know if you're hydrated, energized or even healthy. If there was no text messages at the bottom left, there would be no ways at all to know what your character needs, and when he needs it...
