Agreed. I think that, once you catch a zombie in a trap, there should be an action or something that would allow you to render the zombie harmless, but there is a 90% chance (or something) that you are hurt & infected in this process. Then it would be cool, if this system was implemented, to have that % chance decreased by certain things, maybe if you had a riot vest with hard ABS plastic neck and arm guards etc. That would make it much more risky to do this, but it would allow those who stay alive and who are smart to be able to reap the benefits of it. That way, not everyone could walk around with a zombie-buddy unless they got lucky and that % chance decided to spare them.

Yeah the interesting part, the part to think about, you stated in the last sentence, "The trick would be to capture the zombie without getting hit yourself." In DayZ, the zombies are not slow, stumbling, uncoordinated monsters; they are, instead, fast, decently-smart, 10 ft. attack spanned birds of prey that can see for miles (exaggerated, I know lol). The issue here is that one would need to create traps in order to catch zombies (or other things) and then once they are caught, there would need to be a way to make the zombies harmless as you talked about Meshaun doing in The Walking Dead, but there would be a chance of being attacked or infected when doing so, I would think. Just my two cents.

@Mookzen - Exactly what armin87 said...I know that this is a game and that TONS of people are all waiting for updates, progress etc...but honestly, think about it from the standpoint that this is their job. For the Devs to do what they do, it takes a lot of time, effort and concentration. Do you have any idea how frustrating it would be as a Developer to have to provide status updates and/or take time out of what you're doing to type up a communication to the fanbase every set amount of time?? I know it seems like a menial, simple and quick thing to do, but being in the same field, it really does take a lot away from what you're currently working on to have to give status reports or communications to others rather than working on the issue at hand. Just my 2 cents...

Scared the hell out of him, I'm sure. It was where Three Valleys is in the mod, just south of Solnichny factory and I was looting a house after spawning. I had just picked up an ax and a backpack when I looked toward the front door and there was a player who had glitched into the floor and only the top half of him was moving through the house. He stopped really quickly and stood still, having no weapon, but a backpack, and I guess he was afraid that I'd kill him and take his gear. I waved and told him I wouldn't kill him, told him to 'vault' into a wall and he may get out of the floor glitch. He hit 'F1' to wave back and started to slowly levitate out of the floor lol. We talked for a second, I gave him a can of food that I had found because he needed some and I went North, he went South. It was nice to not be punched in the back of the head or something when we parted ways lol.s

I agree with RyBo... I went to the NWAF last night and at the back of one of the hangars was a random 300rd ammo box...inside were 300 rounds of pristine 5.56 NATO. WTF. lol

Nice! Nothing like a good defensive stand and then following a wounded team back to their base, only to be destroyed and looted. Shows people that they shouldn't always be the aggressor.

I'll be giving this server a shot soon! I am on another RP server and it's fun and all, but the amount of rules that are on there is crazy and the player base is becoming too childish and lacking in RP when that's the whole purpose of the server and its rules. I'll see if yours fairs any better.

It's a bit of both...there are people, a lot of the 'old school' bandits, who will let you live and maybe even give you a lower-level gun to defend yourself with at the beginning if they see that you're a 'bambie' (fresh spawn). One can only think that this is just so that you'll survive long enough to get good gear and they'll kill you later on after you've saved them time by looting the stuff for them :p Then there are those who just want to see the world burn and will kill anything that moves. These are the plague of DayZ and the reason that I have a hard time trusting people, but more than that, why people have a hard time trusting me; i.e. I can't get my hero skin because people won't trust me long enough for me to come to where they are and bandage them and give them a blood transfusion lol.

yeah...I'm still trying to get my hero skin, but I can never find anyone who will trust enough to let me help them :(

Lol I guess it'd suffice in an apocalyptic situation...BUT I wouldn't trust it :p I'd rather use a strip of clothing that I had cleaned and put in boiling water (beforehand, of course) if I had no cotton/gauze and tape etc.

And it's people like you, who just love to watch the world burn, that a lot of people like me (and Nerd_Guy, evidently), can't have nice things... Or at least DO nice things for others because people like you always feel like you have to f*** it up.
