    all these tests were made when I was alone on the server, public hive server from FragNet so no mods at all 1st test : gate builded in 1.02, but already got locked previously with a 1.01 lock that I cutted to open the gate. Server has been restarded several time since no prompt when trying to attach the lock remove wire, build gate again => no prompt remove wire, restart server, build gate => no prompt 2d test : completly dismantled the door and builded it again the prompt is showing, lock attach correctly => lock can be open with the code the prompt is showing, lock attach correctly, restart server => lock can be open with the code ! (strange, this is not the behavior I experienced earlier, but all my previous attempts was with locks looted in 1.01) BUT the lock is still attached to the post/log and dont drop on the ground if I look at the ground where the lock should be, I get the "[F] take combination lock" prompt but it don't do anything and lock is still attached to the post/log server restart now lock is on the ground and can be picked after opening the door, it still have the same code configured prompt to attach lock shows correctly, lock attach correctly => lock can be open with the code I attach the lock again and restart server same behavior than previous scenario (lock open with code, but still attached to the post) I remove wire, lock go on the ground and can be picked I rebuild gate, lock can be attached again So in conclusion

    I have a public Vanilla server, no mods at all... But yes, my tests were done with locks I looted in 1.01. I looted new locks yesterday, I'll try again tonight and compare the behaviors.

    I think Oil refill don't work on this patch, I'm not able to refill oil of ADA as well. But ADA works fine without Oil, I readed on the EXP thread that the Olga works fine without oil too. Not sure for the fuel as I never found an Olga yet, but guys n EXP said it was the same place than ADA (near the rear right wheel)
  5. Isn't it one of the purpose of EXP branch ? IMO Test servers only should be running on EXP version, and allow to test/adapt mods when a new version is released, and yes can be unstable and require server stop. Once the patch hit the stable, most of the bugs should be already seen/fixed on EXP

    at work so I can't get the screenshots, but I love the place at GPS coordonates 9521/12222. it's a medium lake lost in the middle of the woods between Severograd and Krasno. To bad there are not enough flat ground in the area, or I would have setup a camp here.

    TBH my best memories about this game are everytime I struggled and laughed with friends when they discover the map for the first time and butcher every city names/spelling while trying to figure it out on izurvive 😀 so it should definitly stay like this on vanilla imo but you have plenty of modded servers that allow you to choose your spawn location if you want to team up quickly

    I think there is smoke on West heli spawn only, not on East (but not 100% sure, long time I didn't see a East crash site, I think it was on 1.0 ...) BTW the 3 West heli crash sites I found in 1.01 were not very generous. It was mostly basic military clothes (patrol pants, military vest) but no weapons/ammo at all. But on one of them I found a mil-tent, which was a good confort. I'm still looking for an East crash site, in hope to find the holy SVD 🤗

    Console Noob help

    If you want a build just for DayZ you don't need a huge setup, if you have a low budget you can probably mount one for cheap with used parts. My setup is 7 (or 8 may be) years old : i5-2500K CPU, GTX570 GPU, 8Go RAM, Corsair Force3 SSD. Sure I don't set all the graphics in game at maximum quality, but everything is at least medium or high, and performances are decent.

    So... 4x4 car. Lets talk about it for a tiny bit.

    I honestly don't think so. Well ok sure it's not perfect, but I own 3 cars and use them on a daily basis, on various types of road/area. I didn't had the "bounce" bug that often. Only once or twice the car started to act a bit bouncy, just stop it, get out and get in and it's fine. Sure it's not very powerfull, especially when you tru to climb a pretty serious slope or when offroad, but slowly and surely you will get where your aiming. On the coastal highway you can hit the 100Km/h quickly. If you hit an obstacle at less than 25Km/h damages are very rare, but if you hit at 50Km/h or more sure your beautiful ride will be fine for the junkyard... The biggest risk for te car imho is when you going down a slope and hit a tree or a fence. The car may be not powerfull enough to climb the slop backward in reverse gear, and the car will be stuck forever as you can't push it or tract it. And the biggest risk for players is getting in the passenger seat while the car is still running very slowly or just stopped with engine still runnning. The guy might get launched 5-10m meters in the air. I recommand stopping the engine before any passenger get in. It needs to be handled carefully, but it's a wonderfull tool in the game and I'm having a lot fun with it. 😁

  15. yes a backpack can be ruined too if you have a ruined clothes (backpack or any other clothes) on you , it still works fine as long as you don't remove it. If you remove it (or if you find it already ruined, like on another guy corpse), you will not be able to wear it again

    Offroad Hatchback Black Screen

    Hi, I got that 2 times and it didn"t went well : - the car was half into the ground. I got in, then car crash sound, black screen aaaaaand... I'm dead... The car despawned in the process - I was driving next to the nothern border of the map, thinking myself "why not driving in the debug zone, should be faster" (yeaah I'm dumb sometimes....). Crash sound, black screen, character dead, car despawned. Are you able to get out of the car alive ?

    all the inventory inventory glitches are from far the most annoying bugs introduced by 1.01... I hope this will be fix on the next patch

    it works fine for me (vanilla server), but its very picky with the environnement you try to place the barrel flat ground, not too close to trees/bushes/rocks, sometimes even in high grass it doesn't work. Pretty much the same constraint than placing tents I guess but yeah just dropping it works fine as well, I don't think it changes the persistance duration of the barrel
  19. have my beans friend I'm going a bit further and would like to be able to attach a glow stick to the backpack straps (and may be to a combat/tactical vest as well), and be able to carry your rifle in the meantime. If I remember well this was possible in the mod, and this is absolutly realistic (most of glow sticks have a small hook exactly for this use) Obviously this should work for glowstick only, and not for torch or flare

    I get that quite often too. When I log back next to my base, approx 15-20s after the login, I hear the sound of a tent or barel opening.

    yeah sure, it's my ali*** caverns: mosin, shotgun, CR571, shotgun/mosin ammo, food/drink/veggie, cooking pot (and of course plenty of useless clothes like everywhere). I also like the house painted yellow and green with 2 doors. Pretty much same loot.
  23. The one with "Customize character" is the default character you can customize yourself, and that should be used when you log on a new hive. So it's not a real character, more like a template. But anyway there is a known bug and your customized character is never used, when you kill you character (or connect to a new hive) the game just choose a random guy/girl. When you have "rename" it's a character that exists in a hive (but I don't think you can know which one) It really looks like your are connected to the same hive than previously, but your first character just died (or wiped because of a bug eventually). If you really had to characters on 2 differents hives, you should see 3 guys on the main screen : - the customized "template" that is not a real character and is useless right now - the first char on hive n°1 (1PP for example) - the second char on hive n°2 (3PP for example) I have 4 char right now on my main screen : customized, 1PP stable, 3PP stable and on from a private community server with it's own hive. If I select one of the 3 "real" char and I click "Play" it will automatically connect to the last used server attached to the hive of the char (so last 1PP stable, last 3PP stable, or the private server dedicated hive) so the char selection screen is pretty much like a shortcut to help you connect to the good hive. If you go browse a server manually, depending of the hive the server you choose is using, you will automaticaly log with your char if you have one on this hive, or it will create a new one if it's the first time you connect to this hive. I don't think you can because your char is not stored locally on your computer. But from my experience the char selection is not bugged, just a bit strange and not very intuitive. But once you understand how it works (see above) you'll see it's reliable. That said, with your description I'm pretty sure your fist char died, and that might be a bug if your sure you were not killed when logging out (you always wait the 15s or you press "Right now" without waiting the timeout ?) But I think the char selection screen has nothing to do with that

    Where do civilian tents spawn?

    I found few in civilian houses (the red one with 2 doors, and the green one with a door up to stairs). Also found one in a small shack (the smallest shack made of rusty metal panels, that are usually in the backyard of houses, or in fields).
  25. Your just out of luck, I've seen a shitload of it, mostly in small industrial buildings (like garage, or repair stations). They often have flashlight in it by the way. But the CLE is definitly an IA trying to turn us crazy. Since 1.01, I spent 10 days (not joking) without seeing a single hacksaw to get planks. Then I found out that planks can be harvested with an axe as well... (*insert Red Forman "Dumbass" joke here*). The very next day I started to found hacksaw everywhere and now have 4 in my stashes... PS : @Eno , love your Helpy Helpers stories in "How was your Dayz" topic dude, waiting for the next one 😉
