    DayZ Stable Update 1.0

    Is it just me, or are the filters/interface to find servers super buggy. I can't find the servers I usually play on such as underground, UN, and RunningManz (I saw it once then couldn't find it again). It never fully loads all the servers because it starts lagging around 50% because so many servers are found, it doesn't remove passworded servers though I select it, a bunch of empty servers pop up and there is no way to remove those (only full servers), when I order by population it doesn't order properly (as in full, high, low, med, low, high), and doesn't search by name. It seems like a big step backwards from 0.63, and I don't remember this interface in recent exp 0,63 builds. Edit: Working better now

    Experimental Update 0.63.149776

    I'm not sure if they thought this through, but colds are due to viruses so antibiotics would have no effect. In theory it could very well prolong a cold because you are reducing the beneficial bacteria in your digestive system by taking antibiotics. I could see antibiotics used if you ate bad food that had a high bacterial population to treat dysentery.

    Status Report - 20 November 2018

    1. I don't want to be able to run full speed and able to access anything in my inventory, I think walking would be a good compromise though. If I'm running through the woods full speed and take my eyes away to rummage through my pockets I'm going to be on my face in a second. Also, ever try reaching into your pockets to pull out a can of beans while running. Not easy. 2. Loading mags are much quicker than IRL anyways, especially since you can move and do it at the same time (IRL I'd be dropping rounds everywhere when trying to pull a few at a time out of pockets) 3. Limping is one of the best features of 0.63. Makes being the first to land a shot that much more important, like it really is. I believe they are going to be adding more animations for specific injuries. 4. There might be a few mods that address some of your issues, also I think I remember hearing something about keeping 0.62 as a legacy version

    How do you reassign keys for a lefty?

    I think as of now keys can not be changed, though it is on their list of things to do soon. I'm sorry, that sucks for you

    So if I understand you correctly. because they pushed out an Xbox version they now have to release a weak 1.0 before the end of the year?

    I second what BioHaze, EmuThreat, IMT and several others have said. What would be the harm of continuing in beta longer? Breaking another deadline? Honestly, you've broken so many before we are all use to it and expecting it. What we weren't expecting was an incomplete 1.0. Releasing a weak 1.0 is worse press than postponing it at this point. Don't dig yourself a larger hole.
  8. I'll throw my 2 beans in and ride the mount and blade train. Though I don't know anything about programming, it seems the mount and blade style would work with then engine dayz is using. Kingdom come is great, but it just won't work

    Indoor zombies

    I was thinking about sleeping infected and found this thread, so bump time. Since they are just infected people they will get tired and lay down or sleep, but since they are people infected with the crazy it could be anywhere. Therefore as you are creeping through some bushes in a town you have the chance of walking right up on a sleeper. Yes this would give you a shock like resident evil, but that would be in line with this type of survival setting.

    Exp Update 0.62.139748

    I am all for wells being dynamic, maybe change per server restart. I would like them to either work or not work, and those that work have a small chance of being contaminated forcing you to either boil or purify with tablets.

    Vehicles on Stable branch

    Hello, I haven't played in a while so I'm not up to date with all the quirks. I found a sedan which seemed to be newly spawned since it didn't have any body damage (pure white), but had no wheels, battery, spark plug, doors, lights etc. I found for tires and patched them to pristine, a worn spark plug, and a damaged battery. I filled her up and she won't start. Took everything off and put it back on in several different iterations of order, and punched it a few times for good measure. Still won't start. This took several hours and the car survived a restart, and kept the wheels I patched. (There are no doors, trunk, or lights) Are some vehicles just bugged when they spawn in and will never start?

    Exp Update 0.61.137116

    I haven't played much the past year and jumped on that server and eventually came across all those tents at the north end of Tisy. From a distance I first thought it was all actual military tents, thoroughly confused me. Anyways, I'm going to start playing more and if anyone wants an able body to test vehicles or whatever let me know. Otherwise I'll be creeping around up north, saying hi to people I see, and then watching them run away :( happened twice yesterday.

    Exp Update: 0.60.+++

    I really haven't played for many months and I've forgotten many of the little quirks, so before I reported what I think is a bug I want to make sure it isn't something that has been going on for sometime. After catching my breath I noticed a lot of gun sway about 20 minutes after getting shot, I shot a stick a morphine and it went away. So apparently I had a damaged limb without an indicator, is this known? I thought I remember this being a thing, but I didn't see anything in the forum history. The only thing that was damaged was my coat and the contents, which suggests that I indeed was hit in the upper part of the body (arms).

    Exp Update: 0.60.+++

    Going all the way back to the mod I've come across a few people who were dead but standing up fully geared, and they scare the hell out of me. A few were near buildings where they could have fallen though there is no evidence for it and one several months ago was standing dead in the new barracks so it isn't always assoiciated with falling. So long story short it is a thing.

    Bullets penetrate tents and other thin cover

    I'm all with being able to destroy camps, but I think it should take effort. Such as you must build a fire to destroy items. If you destroy munitions then you'll hear the fireworks.

    smells odors sugsmells gestion

    Well I guess this is a bump on the thread. I was thinking of this very thing and found this old thread which pretty much what I was thinking. We should also be able to smell car crashes if they are totaled and burning, as well as helo crashes.
  20. It's been a while since I played, but I've been playing on Exp. lately and want to try to pass messages to players via written notes now that persistence is getting better. I've decided to make a town a little in from the coast that has a police station my own. In doing so I was thinking of leaving a backpack with supplies for survivors and a note stating that the supplies are for them as is everything they find. The exception is I expect them to never have a fire arm in there hand unless they are killing a zombie or animal, otherwise I'll consider them hostile and will KOS. So where is the best place to leave the backpack. In the police station, just outside on the main street, the medical building, etc? Should I have two back packs one with just the note so it is easy to see and one with the supplies, or would you take the time to read a note that is in a backpack full of supplies? Any other suggestions?
  21. I think you are taking it too far. I believe I can glance at a piece of paper and see if there is a handwritten note, or whether it is blank or an old bill.
  22. I like that idea and could take it further. I could take a book and rip out a bunch of pages and copy/paste my message on all the pages. That would probably peak someone's curiosity seeing a backpack full of notes, as long as they read one the job is done.
  23. This is on exp which has persistence
  24. I like the high value idea, plus it is a gift showing good intentions...Hopefully they keep that AKM on their back. The only problem is high values are hard to come by and this area is quite a hike to some high value area. I don't want to spend my time running back and forth farming high values for this. Kinda want to live in the town and see who all comes through.
  25. Yes, definitely need an icon for that. Also I'm trying to think of ways to make the note seem really out of place to peak someones curiosity to look at it, hence only one in a backpack Clearly role-play, and trying to use current mechanics to enhance game-play for everyone is too complicated for you. Well I've tried to give rules verbally and that puts me at too much risk. Granted it's good for interaction and hilarity but I'm trying to play as I would truly in real life. I would have no problem sharing supplies with people, but also protection of one's self is primary...so your constant battle is weighing your ethics against survival. There are two main entrance points to the town that I can put a bag in the middle of the road. Hopefully that will catch their attention. If they don't happen to see it and get killed by me for running through my "home/town" with a gun out....well the end of the world is rough at least I reduced their suffering. Ya I'm trying that too, but not sure if they stay as long as a backpack with current persistence mechanics. Also longevity is desired so I don't have to run around every day setting my messages up. Story time: I think it was a year ago when notes were first introduced. Well at a military base when I turned a corner and was face to face with a guy. I told him don't move, and then I see him start to put his axe away and I assume reach for the the m4 on his back. Well I killed him and in going through his stuff noticed a note. Well they were introduced recently so I eagerly read it. It was a note to his killer, me, stating his mission was to find all the map pieces (remember when that was fun?) and now that mission fell upon me if I choose to accept it. He even gave his contact info. This was absolute GOLD. Needless to say I completed his mission and sent him evidence of it. He was shocked and happy that I took his cue and continued on. Well for a few months after that I would think of weird collection goals, and write a note to my future killer that if they killed me they were cursed to complete the mission. Nothing ever came of it though on my end.
