Do you know how many there were total against you? I feel there were more than you even saw.

Stand alone is DayZ as it's own separate game not a mod of Arma 2, which is how it started
-
If you want to play DayZ Standalone, then you only need DayZ. DayZ Mod is a mod on top of Arma 2, so you'd need to own Arma 2 first. There is also a mod for Arma 3 as well.

The most inept bandits ever? They try to lure me into a false sense of security.

wow, unbelievable -
I love how everyone just jumped on that douche canoe's back for thinking this has anything to do with the patch.

Did you notice any effect on zombies being able to hear?

Experimental Branch: 0.52 "Holiday Special" Discussion
Lorax replied to SmashT's topic in PC Experimental Updates
Don't worry. Found and set up 4 tents. All disappeared after setting them up. 2 just a few minutes after setting it up, and the other 2 after 2 restarts. Anyone else noticing this? Lost 2 40rnd 5.56 mags, 1911 clip, AKM, and mosin...so sad even though I know exp. is an ephemeral experience . -
Peter: Original DayZ Standalone Build on Experimental for Christmas
Lorax replied to Tatanko's topic in General Discussion
I think it would be great to get a feeling for how far the game has come. Maybe for 2 or 3 days on experimental. -
Did you not read the entire post you quoted?

Love it. I think I just started playing on your clan's server too.

WTF THIS WORKED. I had no indicator that I was cold. Thank you

This is interesting, I'm going to start a new character on a private shard and on 3pp public to see what happens

Morphine didn't work, and it actually looks like my whole body is shaking.
-
Nope, I'm good there.

Hello all, I'm trying to figure out if other people's guns are shaky after the 0.51 update, or whether it is just me. I noticed it first when looking through my Long Range scope, and then my PSU, and finally when looking down the sights of my mosin. It definitely seems buggy on my end, and after searching the forums it looks like people had a similar issue after the 0.45 release. Edit: I am fully healthy and even used a splint to make sure I didn't have a fracture that wasn't registering. Update: Used morphine thinking I might be shaking because of pain, but didn't work. Also noticed that my hand gun is shaking too. Then I looked very closely at my hands while laying down and I looks like my whole body is shaking. So the problem is in the character and not the items you are holding...I think. FIXED Update: I started a fire as someone suggested below, and after standing next to it for a second I stopped shaking. There was no cold indicator and I was fully healthy, energized, and hydrated. Don't know if it is a bug where if you get cold once you need to warm by a fire to reduce the shaking...we may never know

Hey, has anyone noticed if the mp-133 pump shotgun in glitched, in that it doesn't really cause damage to players. Hand an encounter where I got one shot in, then ran up and got 2 more shots point blank. He then shot me once, and that's when I realized it was messed up. I ran away and he continued to shoot me several times times which only gave me a fracture..and ruined my equipment, no bleeding. Is it the same bug as the double barrel from several months ago? I just want to see what other people say before I report it.

It's to ensure you fully cook your human meat. No one likes a raw slab of human thigh.

I had something similar happen to me too. I dropped a mosin to put it on my back but it disappeared. Then several minutes later when I took out my axe to kill a zombie I noticed my mosin was on the ground....so ya, weird stuff with weapons or items in general.

Go to the first post on the 5th page of this thread. The author had the same problem as you but fixed it. The problem was the game started using the graphics card on the motherboard instead of the actual graphics processing unit (GPU, or the real graphics card) Hope this helps

I believe my mother board is not recognizing my GPU on my newly built pc, though it worked for a little while. The symptoms and specifications of my PC are as follows. i7-4790 k gigabyte z98n motherboard EVGA gtx970 Crucial 16 ram Crucial 512 ssd 1. When trying to open NVIDIA control panel I get the error message (NVIDIA display settings are not available, you are currently not using a display attached to a nvidia gpu) 2. When I try to auto detect my GPU using NVIDIA's support website I get the error that it can't because JAVA is required. I have verified the latest JAVA (Version 8, Update 25) is installed several times using JAVA's website. 3. The one game I played (DayZ) worked amazingly well for a half a day, but now it runs like my 4.5 year old laptop. Another game, Civ 5, also runs like it's on my old laptop. *** I believe the problem occurred when I unplug the cable from my powersupply to the GPU to remove another cable to bring to Micro Center to ensure I purchased the correct converter to power two intake fans. My powersupply is in another compartment of my computer so I believe it was almost impossible for me to damage the GPU by bumping or static. I never turned on my computer with the power to the GPU detached, though it could have possibly been not connected fully when I started the pc back up, though that's a long shot**** The only thing I felt comfortable doing is selecting "clean install" when I re-downloaded drivers from NVIDIA, but that didn't work. I've read that I need to start up my pc in safe mode and run a separate program to ensure I remove all the driver programming so I start completely fresh. After doing this remove the GPU from my MB, and then reinstall it along with downloading the drivers from NVIDIA. Does this sound like the right course of action and do you have any tips on doing this? If not what other action should I take? Thank you.

Hello, Just trying to figure out why my character defaulted to my original name, default key binding, and fresh character after installing DayZ on my new PC. Any ideas and how to access my old character? Thanks
-
I would love for food to be really rare, but fill you up and sustain you accordingly.
-
Hey so have they figured the control bug out? I don't want to reinstall exp just for my character to run around every which way. Thanks

I agree with you for the most part and they are working that out. One thing to remember is we are all fairly healthy, well fed, and well rested. During an apocalypse our characters will be fairly unrested, and malnourished. This will lead to our characters being susceptible to disease and reduce their ability to maintain homeostasis (ie. maintain body temperature). With that said once we can fortify houses or build structures so we can sleep safely and peacefully, and grow fresh food to maintain a balanced diet we should see an increase in our character's ability to withstand cold and not need as much food and water because our reserves (fat, glycogen) will be strong. Let's hope they get it right.
