I have come to the conclusion that the reason I am having issue may in fact be due to my operating system, windows 8.1. Going to do a partition with win 7 and see if that makes a difference. -
I have a 3770k @ 4.5, 16gb ram, 2x raid 0 SSDs and a Asus GTX 780ti and I get 25fps in cities. welcome to my world.

Alright, the settings that Mos1ey posted are making things a bit worse, and the settings CaptRandom gave me are making the game look amazing, but not having any impact (positive or negative) on my framerate... As for turning off turbo, I did in the bios yet its still running at 1.98 when idle.. its like I can't disable turbo. -

Disabled the optimization feature in nvidia and it definitely recovered a few extra frames, but i still cant seem to get the it above 30. Any chance you can send me a screen of your dayz settings so I can try to replicate? Could it be the fact that I have 3 displays? I am not stretching the game across them mind you but perhaps each display is taking a bit of juice so to speak.. -

Disabled HT, and changed my settings to what you recommended. It's not bad but still seems way under what it should be considering my specs. I suppose they will eventually optimized the game so I will just stay hopeful until then. -

Alright, moved it over to my SSD. The difference is negotiable but the load times are definitely improved. I still can't seem to get that smooth 30 FPS that i'm looking for. even in a small little town with 10 houses -

that's the game at max settings, no dxtory, no streaming. barely using anything... I am going to try and migrate my DayZ onto my SSD instead of my 7200rpm drive to see if that makes a lick of difference, but judging by every else's luck I think I am just suffering from the curse of the mountain dew... -

Noticed that kamenka spawns just aren't happening... was there a removal or change to the spawn locations in the last patch?

DayZ is still DayZ... (My First Impressions of SA)
GrumpyGat (DayZ) replied to DayZoey's topic in General Discussion
I stayed far too long on the toilet reading this. I agree with almost everything except the zombie bitch slapping quarrel. I could easily (as a human) use extreme force to do considerable damage to flesh with just my fingernails. And hungry as a zombie would theoretically be, they would surely have the incentive to exert full force. -
As the title states, allow the character to consume the entire container or bottle of food/drink.

Suggestion: Consume ENTIRE item

that's a fair compromise, as long as the time between feedings is greatly reduced. -
That would be half-assed and not true to the quality that rocket wants.

Arms engine doesn't support anything higher than 2gb atm. -
Doesn't matter where you go, eventually someone will try to kill you.

I have a i7 3770k, 16gb ram, and a GTX 780ti, the best consumer GPU on the market, and I can barely hold 20FPS in cities. I feel you man.

Alright, so is DayZ SA simply not optimized yet like the original ARMA II mod? or am I missing some sort of setting or something. No matter what I do I can't seem to get above 15fps in the major cities. Everyone else says they get a good 30-40fps in cities yet I am struggling to do so. My specs: i7 3770K OC 5.0ghz 16gb GSKILL DDR3L 2133MHz Kingston 256 SSD Gigabyte GA-Z77-HD3 Mobo Asus GEFORCE GTX 780ti I can't imagine most people are running this type of setup. How is it that with one of the latest ivy bridge CPUs and the best GPU on the market, am I still struggling? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

As the title states. It's a intensive game and It would probably help to utilize more of that sweet sweet vram

Antibiotics are for food poisoning I believe, not to treat wounds. Best thing for wounds is a nice clean bandage or a rag soaked in disinfectant.

About the fire extinguisher..
GrumpyGat (DayZ) replied to NagsterTheGangster's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Agreed. Excellent idea it would make for a good stun element. You could be chased by a gunmen, hide behind a door and spray his ass with it and make your escape. -
[Question] Why does some corpses dissapear?
GrumpyGat (DayZ) replied to iAwesome's topic in General Discussion
Yes, I died in front of my friend from a bad bloodbag, and the second I hit respawn due to my unconsciousness, my body vanished. This is indeed a bug and should be reported.
