He has negotiated his position with his employer. Vacation time, salary, pension, flowers on his desk, that kind of stuff. This is fairly normal when you are being employed in a private company and it's a matter between him and his employer. Why do other people make this their business? -

The fire axe kills in one hit, the splitting axe in two. The wrench and crowbars are terrible, granted. It does make sense though, that melee weapons are different from each other. It makes it possible to find a better one to upgrade your gear. Sure, there is some balancing to be done, both in spawn rate and damage.

I'm afraid the gate sound is part of the 'ambience', like the church bells and 'hooot' noises. I hope this will be changed.

Don't need to. When I play, I meet people. Sometimes we hang out. Sometimes we run away from each other. Sometimes something else happens. I don't see a reason to kill other people on sight. It's a game, we play it in different ways. No worries.
