It sounds counterintuitive, but it might help upping your graphics settings. It should force the game to utilize your gpu more.

The trick is to hold your breath until you get a suicide button.

Several of the regulars here play with a controller, I'm sure they'll be around to help you out soon.

Your firewall might be blocking BattlEye.

In the server browser you can switch between different connection types, it tends to default to 'LAN'. Try changing it to 'internet', if it isn't already.

Steam launcher works with DayZMod, but of course you won't be able to join Epoch servers and such with it. For Epoch support, go to the Epoch forums.

Merged and moved. Just use the Steam launcher, the others are not supported. They won't work well, if at all.

Really great ideas, I would especially love to see this one: Finding that thing and running up there, nervous as hell and not knowing whether you'll find a cargohold full of drum mags or just two thousand melons, would be the best.

'Official' Origins mod servers?? I think you better ask on the Official Origins Forum, this forum is for DayZMod troubleshooting. We have nothing to do with Origins.
