I play with the kid, talk to the missus, cook, work, do the garden, make coffee, read... All that I do as well as you do. In the evening, after the kid is a sleep, the dishes done, the missus happily knitting, I play DayZ. I immerse myself in it, live out the apocalypse fantasy. Then, some bugger like you disappears from view only to turn up out of thin air a minute later. Now, this is no longer the apocalypse. It's just another stupid videogame. Disbelief? No longer suspended. DayZ is special, a new kind of game. It doesn't have to be a 15 minute fix like the rest.

I hope it is roaming packs of aggressive dogs. Ever met a bunch of those IRL? Pretty damn scary. I would love to get revenge from the safety of my desk. Also, if anyone finds something else, please post it and I'll add it to the OP. That way people can chat about the new stuff in here.

Yep, I don't think it will be possible to come up with a solution that is not inconvenient in some way. I wouldn't want to be in Rocket's shoes, no matter what solution he finds there will be massive moaning on the forums. Still, I hope something is done soon, I would much rather die because I have to go answer the door while in Cherno than because someone doesn't feel like playing by the rules. I don't pvp much, it's the loss of immersion that gets me.

Thanks Aero, you can't believe the amount of shit I normally have to eat when posting this suggestion around the place. Some people suggest making it so you can't log on to the same server for a short while, I think that is a good idea too. But the main gripe people have with my suggestion seems to be that they can't log out *right now* and instead have to find a slightly safer place. But is 15 seconds really that long? Even in the middle of Cherno, it would be possible to log off fairly safely. Logging on is a different matter though, which is why I think it is a good idea. Under no circumstances should you have people spawning right behind you, ready to shoot.

You know, I have a feeling we'll see some sort of fix tomorrow. Rocket is going to showcase DayZ at Rezzed, right? Would it not be incredibly embarrassing if he had to do it on a private closed server? And neither will he risk some asshat spawning an aircraft carrier and a million orthodox priests in front of the assembled gaming press. It think it will happen soon. Please be good.

If it says [GMT-8], then the server time is 8 hours behind the current time in Greenwich UK. DayZ run a 24 hour cycle.

I actually think it is fine as is. I never break anything, not after I learned not to crawl through doorways. As for the infected, just don't let them get close. This takes a lot of sneaking though which may not suit everyones playstyle, but nothing does. That's why there are different games out there, no?

It would work if a backpack took up as many slots as it has. That way, you could put a little backpack into a big backpack without wasting space, and avoid issues with backpacks in backpacks in backpacks in backpacks in backpacks in backpacks in backpacks in backpacks in... Backpacks!

As for the leg-breaking thing, I think you will be pleased if you read the patch notes for the upcoming 1.7.2 They are in the announcement forum in their own thread.
