[/quote'] wow. stay in context huh? i was saying they dont mean crap as far as the "fame" side effect aspect of a video game mod. if one doesnt create something to get famous, then yes it is crap, hence "side effect." fame isnt the goal, so in this situation there is no obligation to be polite just because the mod that was made became successful. marketing and whatever is a completely separate thing. the goals there are different. the target group is different. courtesy and politeness are opinion matters anyway, and have nothing to with my point about rocket not owing us anything or being obligated to tell us the obvious-the update isnt ready. im not interested in niceness, im interested in playing the next version of a working mod, without waiting for super villians to be hotfixed. he already said hes trying to get it right, the first time, as far as im concerned that IS his update on the update. I think courtesy and politeness are cultural matters, not a matter of opinion. They make it possible for us to function in groups while still having the individual in mind, and there is always good reason to be polite unless there is a specific reason not to be. That said, if Rocket decides to take a month off to study belgian ales, I wouldn't see it as bad manners on his part. It's his time, his life.

I must say I'm against this, and then some. I think the 'kill-stats' are turning the game away from being a survival simulator and towards being a deathmatch with beans. DayZ is about surviving in a hostile environment, no? I would just hate if it ended up being a "Hey,-look-at-my-killratio-dudebro" kind of game.
