  1. A few videos and lite reading. The only thing you can plug in the wrong place is the case wires, but even that won't break anything. 20+4 pin goes on one way, 4+4 for mobo goes on one way, same for every cable. Don't sell yourself short, it really isn't that hard. IMO the most annoying thing is installing the Windows updates.
  2. Why not just build it yourself?

(Generated by PCPartPicker 2013-09-23 08:28 EDT-0400) This build is ready and able to take on a 2nd 760, OC the 4670k, and add SSD. I picked EVGA because they are the best I have ever had with performance, noise, and RMA. (I never had to RMA.)

    What upgrade should I pick?

Just got home, about to test it out. EDIT: Mic is okay without recharging cable, with charging cable plugged in there is a buzzing that only goes away if you put the mic up and don't use it. Avenge Sevenfold sounds 100x more amazing. Loaded Skyrim, fast traveled to giant area and holyshit! The sound really makes the camera shaking feel real. Don't listen to teh reviews about Windows not seeing it as 5.1 or 7.1. Seems they have fixed it and I can tell in skyrim when a noise is in front of me or behind.

    What upgrade should I pick?

I couldn't wait on newegg so I went to micro center and paid full price for the corsair vengeance 2000. They're much bigger than what I though.

I need help building a computer.

Depends on server a lot. I have a 3570k @ 4Ghz, 8gigs of ram, 2 GTX 660 and dip down to mid 40s in areas with a lot of ai action.

    Noob wants help.

You need to do this: 1: install arma 2: install the expansions in order (not dayz) 3: start arma until you reach it's main menu then exit 4: start each expansion pack in order like step 3 5: install beta patch via steam and start like step 3 then exit 6: install dayz via steam 7: install dayz commander 8: update dayz and server type through dayz commander, like epoch for example. 9: find server to play on and enjoy.
  9. 900 and people are suggesting pre-built i7............ Really?! I5k or high-end AMD quad with 8gigs ram and best video card you can afford. Build it yourself... PSU and mobo will let you add 2nd card down the road.
  10. If someone wanted to build their own server, what would be needed for 50 slots, roaming ai, lots of scripts, and no lag. Would you need dual xeon 8 core cpus =ing 16 cores?

    NEW GPU for DayZ?

    NEW GPU for DayZ?

GTX 650 will work but I think new amd cards needs 1.1 pci-e. The spec sheet for your motherboard says 1.0a.

    New PC Time!

So will 2 GTX 660 SC 2GB cards max the game in 1920x1080?
  14. Spend like 30 dollars and get a cooler master evo or 212+ and OC your cpu to at least 4.2Ghz and you should be good.
  15. delta5

    Best motherboard?

I found that even with a H100i you won't be maxing a asrock extreme4 out. IMO, its out the options on the board, raid, bluetooth, dual lan, firewire, number of ports, color scheme.

    SSD's and game improvements?

SSD is like magic for the Sims 3.
  17. Just did a restart so I could remove my kill-a-watt meter and realized my computer has been on for 76 days, this includes it going to sleep at night. So, how long has your computer been running without a restart?
  18. It applies any updates, cleans reg/cache, restarts, full virus scan of every pc in house.
  19. I use to do that, but with having a ssd, intel cpu, evga 600 series cards, it doesn't use much wattage at all while idle. I don't believe in the whole shortening the cpu's life by 24/7. My old Q6600 still works and its been OC'd to 3.2Ghz and left on 23/7 for over 3yrs.
  20. when my pc idles it uses about 89 watts. My bill is only 100-150USD per month and the higher end is summer with central air.

Steam Box - Question - Jackfrags

Some people don't realize what you can do on a low budget or seem to have the need to knock it. If it works and meets your needs then great. I don't see what the fuss is over the new pentium cpus. Sure, they aren't a 3570k, but they're good for the budget.

    Foliage as an advantage

Instead of rendering a whole new suit, why not just add option to current gillies to where if you're say, in prone, you scroll/click camo, then a transparent filter added to the player. Transparent % depends on skill, time in prone/non-moving position, and environment.
