After installing my new Samsung 840 120GB I decided I wanted to do some cleaning and cable management. Aside from the sata cords, front usb cord all the other cables run behind the motherboard. I might take it apart again and try to get the usb 3 and sata cables to go behind the motherboard. Honestly I put the entire system back together and forgot to put in the sata cables lol. I'm not to sure of the usb 3 cable as it doesn't lock onto the socket. Also had to cut off some of sleeve from the 24 pin to get the wires to spread out. Before: After:

Just got Windows installed and all updates done. I am not impressed with this ssd. It is a heck of a lot faster than my wd black hdd but I'm only getting 390mb read and 139mb write. I installed steam and my games on the wd hdd and they load a lot faster since the wd is now a secondary drive. If I had it to do over I'd got the Samsung 840 256gb instead. At least there is no wait on start up for programs to load anymore. I been using comodo for my antivirus and firewall for the past few years. Anyone have a suggestion on another free av/fw that doesn't freak out when you start a video game for the first time? Comodo isolates the game's exe the first time and I have to go in and tell comodo it is okay. It spazzes more than my wife does lol.

Its late and I don't want to pause my steam downloads. I'll prob install comodo av in the morning. If only it would take some xanax.

I don't like the idea of touchscreens for the pc. I tried it and all it does is cramp my hand when playing civilization on a touchscreen. Aside from that I find tablets to be the better mobile device with touchscreens.

Maybe I'll just go without antivirus for now as I am only downloading my steam games for now.

The best thing to do is a clean install, vital software, drivers, and updates. Then make an image (backup copy) onto a USB stick. You'll have a much faster reinstall time the next time. Plus every reinstall from your usb stick you can do updates then over wright your old image with the new one.

If your motherboard supports it get a 2nd 650 ti boost. If you need a motherboard upgrade get one that does 3-way sli as the 650 ti boost is able to do 3 cards in sli. I'd like to point out that the gtx 700 series should be in full swing before x-mas. If it were me I'd wait and pick up a 760 or greater. BTW, I run 2 EVGA GTX 660 SC 2GB cards and one has a lot less usage during DayZ. If you play MMOs you'll be better with a single powerful card. +60fps away from major cities 45-65fps in cherno. It flux depending on server load I think, but never below 40fps. The 45fps is usually when I'm nearing a large city like cherno then it bouncing up to around 60ish fps

I have 2 GTX 660 SC 2GB in Sli and I run the game maxed out with AAx8. Only lag is when nearing a city which last for about a second. EDIT: Its been awhile but I'm sure one of my cards wasn't being utilized.

The 3D experience is over rated right now. Even on the 27" ASUS 3D monitor it gets old fast. I'm with icomrade on this one.

Only time I ever used my dvd-rw is to install windows. CD/DVD that comes with new hardware isn't needed as the most up to date drivers are found on their website. Not to mention the DVD drive can be the loudest part in your PC.

Depending on screen size it'd be fine to play at 720P with a 1gig video card. I have 20/20 vision and even on my 27" monitor I can't tell the difference between 720P and 1080P unless I look at screenshots comparing the two.
