    I'm sure we had decayed bodies in a status report a while back. By decayed I mean a dead player body turns pale after some time(i think?). Does anyone remember that ? Yes, yes a flies come back would suit well too. Good ol Flies hand in hand with pale bodies would be fun. So does anyone even know how long dead bodies of players stay spawned atm ? I'm sure its not very long. I Hope the db's atleast stay until server reset in the future of dayz like the good old days :D (tho i do remember the flies sound file being a bit to loud)

    I will def be back on hihb soon with my squad. Hope you guys still do the event weekends. They were awesome. Community servers like hihb are great for making dayz a less "dull" place while the game is still developed.

    How do I even look into starting modding ? Where should I start. Do I have to launch dayz in offline mode or something ? I'm quite interested to get into it and get an idea of how it works

    The cooking pot does need to be put to better use. I would hope we see some soup/stews one day. Maybe Garlic could have a positive effect against flu symptoms and makes you do hardcore FARTS. Cannibal stews with human meat also but nothing to indicate its a human stew in the stews description.
  8. Im a simple man. I just want to barricade a house. I dont need no fort. I'm hoping we will see the use of indoor storage again. For a breif period the wardrobes in houses were a container maybe a year ago or more. They could store about as much as a barrel. Other than that i guess stashing barrels inside fortified houses will do the trick. Nails, hammer, planks ? maybe the crow bar would make it easier to get them off the fortified doors ? You would have to barricade your house from the inside when you log off to make it very hard for someone to break in. Then when you leave perhaps you would have to re barricade the outside making it somewhat more vunerable when you left you HQ untill you get back to re barricade the door from the inside that you left through ? Boggles the mind to think of the possibilities and oh man its taking a while.

    Backpack for me!

    I am all for more content but i would think there is enough backpacks in the game. When we have tents and barrels back and i can make a camp again i think i will be using the courier bag alot more for scavenge runs because its small and light and looks rad also. The great thing about the weight system is now you have to think a bit more about what you want to carry. I had a the mil chest plate and was wondering why my stamina bar was under half way and couldnt sprint. I noticed the plate carrier was 14KG! Things like this make the game alot more interesting because if someone wants to have a bullet proof vest now it comes at quite a price. The military vests are great for cargo also but i think they should be more rare as they can work as protective vests also with the right "hard" cargo.

    I think this is an interesting idea. Something that comes to mind that i would like to see, regarding this idea would be a scary serial killer type mask. There is only 1. As it gets handed across to different players perhaps they feel the need to fulfill the masks duties or just carry it as a trophy. Maybe there could be a server option to re start its spawn if it isnt in a container or being held by a player.

    These will be things that i think the community will make when we finally see modding for dayz which is going to be an exciting time. Modding will add years and years on to the life of dayz but i could not see the official dev team making craftable human faces for us to wear.

    Hello, I much like and think this particular building would be a great base. As much as i appreciate the interior design and effort, the top floor needs to be better utilized for floor space so i can have a fire barrel with my bro's and eat people steaks. See my concept Also do we think the locked, non enterable doors will some day actually be enterable ? because there is a whole other room that could be used on this building also.

    Soo who has actually caught a disease yet ? I have drank alot from ponds and i see the "disease meter" on the rise but i didnt seem to get sick. I'm guesssing it just means you "might" have a chance at getting sick as you see those little arrows pointing up ? Also, something small I noticed. The water pump/well doesnt have a little animation anymore. Cant throw items also? ie Flare. Things are feeling pretty good tho. Alot of the smaller components of the game are really coming together nicely to give an overall more satisfying experience and feels like a more wholesome experience then it use to just looting the environment and navigating towns

    Just another concern :P –Base building

    ahhh... basebuilding, It realy has been a far, far away concept through dayz life and its looking like we wont see it until most of us stop caring about dayz at all. Its a bit sad. You do raise some good ideas however. I myself always wondered about the "logging" in out of someones fortified house. I would say most people (especially solo players) will just have a barrel stashed in the wilderness they can report too for a long, long loooong time to come.

    What sort of survivor are you?

    I have played alot by myself and with a small crew of people i know well for a long time. We would make small camps with barrels hidden in a thick part of the forest maybe with a tent close by. I myself are like some of the others above, hiding, lurking and waiting before commiting to a potentialy bad situation if you decide to approach another player. The best peice of advice i could give is this. When you meet another random player always try to be confident and control or more so direct the conversation in your favor. Tell them you have a few freinds close by but they arent quite with you yet. That small verbal interaction will make players you meet think twice before they decide to shoot you in the back. I have done this for years and survived for very long periods at a time. There has never been another game where i have ever done this. I go through periods where i dont play for a long time for the most part these days. I like to wait for big updates Other than that. Welcome to Dayz !

    I feel like an old man on these forums. This idea has been suggested soOo many times since 2012. The devs spoke of soft skills a long time ago. I dont think they are going to do it. I honestly dont remember anymore, its all a haze

    Throwing players from a chopper hahaa. I think if anything would be appropriate it would be being able to "push" players so they stumble. An animation of a player, gives a push (via F keys) and receiving player stumbles a few meters. Therefore you could apprehend and "push" players off buildings. I thought of this a long time ago and thought it could be interesting for role playing aspect atleast.

    Not a bad idea at all but I'm sure the devs arent very fussed. Having stuff like what you explained is a cool idea tho. The more little ideas place together like this is what gives the game a great variety in the end. I would love to get me some "birch juice" I really like having different juices in 7 days to die is a good example.

    Yes Blackwolf, i figuered something like this as alot of the .63 youtube videos people where still finding alot of the regular loot etc so I thought there would still be most of it in game.. do we have barrrels and tents tho ? I'm going to assume no for performance reasons ?
