Yep. I recommend private hives to everyone.. theres really no reason to complain about hoppers and the like when there is private hives.. so much less bullshit involved

I think in alot of cases of zombies in games and movies, the people who create them think they need to sound like monsters when infact I think a better impact for immersion would be if they just sound like regular people in pain and screaming rather than the traditional monster growl which we are all so use too... If you havent seen this video prepare to shit your dacks because if dayz went in this direction for sound design it would be pretty amazing -
I was saying in another topic like this yesterday that we should have physically, different sized characters but its only cosmetic and doesnt effect your actual health in game looking like a big fat burger eating mofo (exaggeration).. Then they can worry about calorie counters in game further down the track.. This is actually reminds me of something that happened yesterday.. I went to the coffee shop yesterday and a lady asked me to help her move her morbidly obese friend who was stuck in sofa inside the coffee shop.. so i leant a hand and did the good dead, we both grabbed an arm each and heaved this huge woman that had anchored herself into a wedge of the sofa up and back into the world and then I said goodbye as would a guardian of the unfortunate and went about my day with my head held high.

To be honest, I do agree, I was kinda pissin in the wind with that comment.. As to mushrooms also, well as a 20+ yo I may have tried them and don't regret a thing, I had an incredible time opening up perceptions.. Anyway, the thing is.. I'm not exactly sure if they intend to add actual magic mushrooms?, I think they may be considering it ? I mean we will have pot to grow soon so who knows. I think just having a number of poisonous mushroom and normal mushrooms to choose from to eat would be more than adequate than actually having a "magic" variety available also.. To capture what those effects do from magic shrooms is impossible in a game or anything for that matter that isnt the real deal and couldnt really go past tunnel vision with silly colours flying but if the devs can be bothered than well.. why not i spose ? -

But Cash ! you could tip your arrows with the hallucinogenic properties of magic mushrooms.. Imagine that. That is the last thing someone would suspect after being hit with an arrow, afterwards bandaging, provided they didnt die.. but someone shooting "magic arrows" would more than likely be up to something less sadistic then say a character with actual poisoned arrows -

Hahaa I knew that link would be for IAL, I thought you would of posted the scene where he is in the video shop talking to the mannequins like they are real people.. I thought that scene was really powerful tbh.. a realistic depiction of a lonely crazy guy living by himself in a big city.. I have a serious fetish for post apocalypse movies.. i make short films and i plan to shoot one in brisbane city on xmas day this year when its quite as hell and no traffic around.. I'm rambling.. however there is a point ! I'm gonna use the word "mannies" for mannequins here on in The more i think of this idea the more I like it.. Tho the only situations I can think of is seedy and bizzare ones.. I could imagine a male char dressed in womens clothing, bare foot, running through cherno with a manny under his arm screaming "I'm freeee!!" Or especially setting them up in windows in popular locations.. people moving through those areas at night would have a pretty damn unpleasant time :D

Anyway, Good idea Senodog, a bit niche maybe at this point in development but finding some mannequins set up could create some pretty, awesomely, bizzare circumstances for people to come across. I think we may need a clothing store before we have reason to find mannequins B)

Not bad ! its hard not to get mad but i guess thats more so adrenaline (not that you actually got mad) but what else is there to do in dayz atm other than KOS and hermit survival ? :D keep up the vids ! I like the hyper space work hole effect at the start EDIT: worm*

Hell yeah, this idea would have to be fleshed out pretty well.. if proper nutrition was a factor further down the track then spawning fat would be good for what ? I could see this idea working well if being actually fat or skinny is just a cosmetic thing which is all it would be obviously at this current state in the game and health levels would never be dependent on actually being fat and skinny which i guess is what weyland means

Not a bad idea... This would be one of the only ways to guarantee a safe HQ out of site and mind of other players when out in the middle of the sea you could drop a hypothetical anchor ? and log off ! or if you have no anchor when you log back in you may be a few kilometers away from your previous location :D

Notice that the OP's list of ideas for the phone... doesnt actually need... a sat connection :blush: I like your BIll Hicks avatar MigWel :D Mobiles could be used maybe for basic things like telling the temperature, pedometer basic games to pass the time while waiting to meet a freind etc.. someone above said about how you actually need satillite connections for most apps which im guessing is true but then again I'm sure there is a shit tonne that dont need any connection at all. Tho I'm thinking we should only really be able to do basic things with the phone.. More for gimmick purposes but then would that even warrant dev time on something like this ? if done right maybe ? with careful consideration of course. I dare say this is something that I would prefer to see alot further down the track i think

I do remember reading a while ago that the devs did state that it is just too much work.. cause shit damn we shoulda had working hoods maaany moons ago if it was to be possible.. I'm sure something specific that was mentioned is that the head turning with the hood on would be super difficult to make look good and fluid or something like that

Ahh the morale issue.. Flogging a dead horse all over again... and again.. and again... and again... and again.. and again Personally I dont really have much trouble with KOS or bad players.. I have manipulated my play style to always be on 1 low pop server that is a private hive.. I see where you coming from but shit damn this is suggested alot and as frustrating as it is I really think dayz needs to be left out of the "morale" penalties.. dayz is the only game of its kind and sure it can be a pain in the arse but the key phrase here is One of a kind...

This is a pretty good topic. I never run and gun for players and KOS. Thats pretty much every fps i played before dayz. Tho there seems like a lack of things to do you really have to make your own fun some how. One thing I always do is try to talk to anyone that is within potential distance of making contact. And i can assure you I have only been KOS perhaps under 5 times in 300 hrs of gameplay. Although I play strictly on a private hive, pretty much everyone I meet is willing to talk and have a peaceful result.. now the things is most people always have there weapon raised first and are willing to shoot before they talk but once they hear me initiate a conversation they are usually fine and willing to have a conversation. I'm tellin you guys ! just try to talk to people first unless you are a KOS retard of course but like deepfryer said he likes to people watch and I also like to do a bit of that myself, just need a damaged trench coat to where. I think when barricading buildings is implemented properly there will be some interesting things to do.. like navigating traps of a potential clan HQ. I'm pretty interested to see this and how much people will focus on trying to rob peoples safe houses.. Also taking your shoes off should make your feet quite ! but shit yes we need different level volumes specific to footwear.. I also think when the game has evolved some more there maybe alot more potential for role playing and maybe it will be more popular. I mean this may sound far fetched but imagine you and a pal get to a town and you meet other players that tell you there is a group of men abducting women players (in game) and apparently they have them in the next town and you go hunting for these dogs.. and yeah you get the picture.. I never really played any roleplay dayz but some of the videos I have seen were off the chain baby and I think thats what the driving force for this game will be in the future, all by its "emergent game play" nature -

pretty good ideas.. I think most of us really do fantasize for the potential of the dynamic spawns of random... crashed trucks with stacks of fruit or beverage is an awesome one The introduction of the checkpoints to the map is an exciting start -
